Sana's Kaafila to be released in March
Producer-director Ammtoje Mann has just completed the first schedule of his latest production Kaafila with a huge cast and crew in Europe. Accompanying lead actors Sunny Deol, Ammtoje Mann himself and Pakistani actress Sana, a mammoth cast of 30 actors and 100 crewmembers with an additional 50 members of the European crew, shot for Kaafila across various locales in Europe over a 35-day schedule. The supporting cast includes senior artistes from the theatre and modeling world and few artists from Bulgaria and Uzbekistan. Parts of the Europe schedule were shot at locations, which have actually witnessed the routes for illegal immigrants.
Kaafila explores for the first time ever the uncharted theme of the dark side of illegal immigrations plaguing the world. This multi-starrer film is a touching story of the mad rush of people opting to leave their motherland in search of their utopian dreams of a better life abroad in developed countries. These people put their careers, families and even lives at stake to reach their desired destinations even when they could be better off in their own country without all the hardships and sufferings.
Written, scripted and directed by Ammtoje Mann, the film is now 30% complete and is looking at a March 2006 release. -IndiaTimes Movies
