Interesting theory, medusa versions defers from book to book. I read a book long back, where medusa acts like door keeper for the underworld; and has blessing from thanatos whosoever kills her takes her form & place but she is never a shape shiftier. That curse/ blessing did effect nephilim in that book.
But in this show i don't think it applies; Until now none of the evil entities are shown to be followers of gods or stated their power source.
