Chapter: 3
"I am really worried about Anant" said Maya in the car with Jas on the driver seat.
Taking a deep breadth Jas replied "Hmm! Me too. But don't worry, he is fine"
"I think he is trying to escape from reality? He has a family, his friends who worries about him. He is the only son of his parents. They have their expectations to see their daughter-in-law, their grandchildren. For how long he will live in his past?
Facing towards him she continued "If he will not get married, he will be all alone. It's hard to stay alone whole life. Who knows if we have to shift to some other place some day. Why don't you talk to him?"
"I can't!"
"But why?"
"Because I don't want to put him back in the same condition from where he came out with large difficulty. I think with time, everything is gonna be ok"
Jas remembered the day when he moved to Anant's house from the hotel. He was so grateful to him as Anant helped him a lot in everything. But Anant was very busy at work. He hardly used to come back home. Most of the time he sleeps in office and when he comes back it used to be very late. Jas hardly gets to meet him as when he comes back Jas was already asleep. In the morning he was mostly asleep. Jas used to follow a very timely schedule of his food and sleep. He everyday makes breakfast and dinner for Anant. But many times his food was untouched. Anant apologised many times for it still it never changed. He lost a lot of weight for this. Though they had become friends, Anant never discussed anything personal with him. Jas thought there must be some reason for this and then he became very desperate to know. One day he offered Anant to go for a dinner together. Firstly Anant said he has work but when Jas forced him, he went. At first he was hesitating to drink but when Jas insisted, he was going on and on and that's when Jas came to know about the real reason which was his love for Navya.
Anant and navya first met at alphinestone college in Mumbai where they were doing their graduation. Anant was talking with his friends when Navya approached him to ask where the chemistry class is. Anant got stuck looking at her big curvy eyes. The words refused to come out of his mouth and he felt as if the time has come to a halt. When she repeated, he came back to his senses and showed her the way to their right. She said thank you and left. One of his friend Kapil raised his brows and gigled like teasing him with her. Anant smiled and denied quickly but felt stupid in front of his friends. But he felt very strange. He had never felt that way in his life.
After that moment he was not able to concentrate on anything else. Even when the world is in front of his eyes, he can see only her face. There was a strange urge of knowing everything about her. Her likes, dislikes everything. But at the same time he was so hesitant to talk to her. Such thing never happened to him. He was very famous in college especially among girls due to his good looks and friendly nature. But when he sees Navya he cannot collect the courage to go and talk to her. He looks at her from a distance laughing and chatting with her friends. Whenever she looks back at him, he removes his eyes from her.
Days passed and one day Navya didn't come to college. Anant was continuosly looking at the entrance of the classroom. He waited and waited but she didn't seem to come. Though chemistry was his favorite subject, he was only thinking about her. Once the class got over, he went to one of her friends Shalini and asked why she didn't come. Shalini said she called many times but Navya didn't answer. Anant took her number leaving Shalini wondering why is he so anxious.
The phone rang and Navya picked up and said "Hello"
Feeling nervous, Anant on the other line said "Hello. Hi I am Anant"
Narrowing her brows Navya answered "Anant? Yes tell me?"
"I was thinking why you didn't come to college today"
Feeling somewhat strange she replied "Actually one of my uncle met with an accident today. I had to go and see him in the hospital"
"Oh. How is he now?"
"He is fine. Thank you"
After an awkward silence she called "Hello"
"Ya. Ya. Actually I called you as we had an important class today. That's why I was wondering why you didn't come. But I.. I have got the notes so don't worry. I will give it to you"
"Ok Thanks!"
"Ok..Bye. See you" he said and hunged up.
A big smile curved on her lips and she kept the phone.
"Hi!" Navya called him from back the next day.
Anant turned and got a shock.
"So can I get the notes?" She asked curving a smile on her lips.
"Notes?"
"Ya! Notes. You told me you will give me today for the important class"
Anant didn't know what to do now. He didn't had any notes. Also he was not aware what was the topic of yesterday's class. Feeling embarrassed he paused for sometime when navya bursted out laughing and said "pagal" and left.
"Sorry! What did you say?" He asked
"I said pagal" she repeated
Hearing that he also started laughing.
That's how the ice broke between them and they became friends. The truth was that Navya was also admiring him secretly from the first day but wanted him to approach first. Who will not drooled over on such deep eyes.
Day's passed and they became very good friends. They enjoyed spending time with each other. They were always together be it before the class, after the class, in the canteen, etc. They used to share every minute details about their day with each other. When they were together, they hardly know any other person's presence. They became inseparable which made others think that they are in relationship, but they always denied it saying they are good friends. Though no one believed it, they just maintained the tag of being just friends.
Days passed and their friendship turned into love.They were madly in love with each other. Anant took her to his favorite place in hill top and proposed her with heart shaped locket. Navya accepted it with full heart and gave him her which she was wearing from her childhood. They decided to tell about their relationship to their close friends but something happened which teared their hopes apart...
