Introduction
It was the night that would change everything for two people. Those two people were Anant and Navya. They loved each other passionately and could not live without each other but they never knew that this day would come so quickly... there Suhaag Raat.
Navya's arrival in the Bajpai house
Navya and Anant stood at the entrance of the Bajpai house feeling happy and excited about their new life together. They knew that nothing can tear them apart now and they were one. Anant smiled at Navya and closed his eyes to tell her that everything will be fine now. That nothing bad will happen as they are now husband and wife. Sughanda did the aarti on Anant and Navya and she looked proudly at them. "Navya beta, now kick this bowl of rice with your right foot and enter the house" Sughanda smiled at Navya and instructed her. Navya smiled and nodded her head. She kicked it and everyone looked happy apart from Om and Bua Dadi. Bua Dadi shook her head and gave Navya an evil stare. Navya dipped her feet in the red vermillion and she walked with her footprints leaving behind. They walked up to the main living area and everyone looked at Anant and Navya. "Nabya and Anant you need to do the aarti to Shivji this is our tradition" Bua Dadi ordered them both. Navya and Anant smiled at each other and Sughanda handed the veneration plate over to Navya. Together they did the aarti and they all prayed to Shivji. Navya spoke in her mind "Shivji, give me strength and wisdom to make sure that I always obey Anant's family and follow all the rules perfectly"
Anant spoke as well "Shivji, please help Navya adjust to my family and always protect her from bad never let her feel any sorrow and help her to fulfil all my family's needs" Navya put the plate near the idol and they both took the elders blessings. Everyone was happy but Bua Dadi. "Rama and Nimisha, take Nabya to her room and make sure she has everything with here in her room" Bua Dadi demanded them both. "Ji, Bua Dadi" spoke Nimisha quietly. "Bua Dadi, aren't you forgetting something... Bua Dadi stared at her with evil eyes "What?? I never forget anything!" Bua Dadi shouted. Nimisha gulped.
"The ring ceremony don't we do this rasam?" Nimisha spoke quietly.
"No, we don't! It is pointless there is no meaning towards it at all! Who wants to play all of that?" Bua Dadi shouted at Nimisha's remark. Anant and Navya looked at each other confused and upset at the argument. "Now go and take her stop wasting time! Hari Om Prabhuji!" Bua Dadi taunted them both. Om and Bua Dadi shook their heads and Rama and Nimisha took Navya to her room. "Bhabi, don't worry just be happy and this is the best night of your life just live it how you want!" Nimisha held Navya's shoulders and smiled.
"Nimisha is right debrani ji!" Rama smirked. Navya looked at Anant's bedroom and recalled all the moments she spent in here before they were married and she smiled to herself at her crazy moments with Anant. She smiled at the way the bedroom was decorated in all different kinds of flowers that were around the bed. There was also rose petals on the bed it looked beautiful. Navya looked around everywhere else and there were candles everywhere to form for the light it looked so romantic. "Arey Navya why are you smiling to yourself, my devarji will be here any moment?" Rama teased Navya and nudged her carefully. Navya looked down embarrassed. Nimisha took her inside and made her sit on the bed. "Bhabi, don't worry it's a matter of moments when bhaiya will come and spend the night with you" Nimisha added. Before Rama could give her horrible comment Bua Dadi shouted her. She pulled a face as she could not taunt Navya and walked off in a horrible mood. Navya looked at Nimisha and smiled. "Tell me Bhabi are you excited?" Nimisha made her go all red.
"No... I mean yes...it feels different, everything is so new it's a new chapter in my life and everything starts with Anant, I am excited but don't tell Anant please" Navya held Nimisha's hand to make sure she didn't Nimisha nodded but had a smirk on her face. Moving to Mohan's room Anant walked around the room intently looking at the clock every second hoping that the time would go quicker and he could go to see Navya. "Bhai, can I go now? Navya must be waiting for me do you want me to go tomorrow to see her how long do I have to wait now!!" Anant was restless at the fact he couldn't see his beautiful wife and spend time with her alone where no one could come between them.
" Anant, You will go in a minute, you have to remember that Navya is new to this house she may have come here to stay but now its forever just be patient" Mohan's words brought a smile to Anant's face as he mentioned forever. "What are you thinking now?" Mohan asked.
"Nothing bhai!" Anant smirked to himself. Back to the room Nimisha was talking to Navya about Anant's habits and it made Navya laugh a lot. Nimisha's phone rang and it was Mohan.
The Suhaag Raat
"Yes bhai, you can come now Bhabi is ready and she is comfortable" Nimisha spoke with a smile. She put the phone down and smiled. "Bhabi you stay here when they come I'll annoy Anant a lot, don't worry I'm just doing it for a joke, when he comes in don't talk to him for a while" Nimisha joked with Navya. She felt shy at the thought her Anant was only a few steps away from the room. Knock Knock. Nimisha told Navya to be quiet.
Nimisha walked up to the door and opened it she smiled at Anant and stood at the door like a bodyguard. "What do you want bhai? Maybe you want a t shirt or some trousers right? Nimisha smiled and laughed. "Nimisha stop annoying me just let me in why are being a kabab me haadi" Anant became angry with Nimisha as he was so close but yet so far. Nimisha held the door and wouldn't let him in he tried to push her out of the way but he was unsuccessful. "Wait bhai, what's that on your hair" Nimisha tricked Anant. As he was touching his hair trying to find what was wrong with it Nimisha slammed the door so he couldn't get in. He realised and he knocked on the door as hard as he could "Nimisha stop it now this is not fair on me let me in otherwise I'm going to call Baba and then you will be punished" Anant warned her for the last time.
"Okay I'll let you in on one condition that you give me your wallet" Nimisha laughed on the other side of the door. Navya looked at her confused and was getting nervous. Anant didn't think twice and pulled out his wallet "Here take it, all of it is yours but let me in" Anant demanded. Nimisha opened the door and let him in. Anant didn't even look at Nimisha and his eyes gazed upon Navya straight away he felt complete now that he could be with his true love forever. Nimisha sneaked out of the door, Anant didn't even realise.
The door was shut but still open. He rushed up to Navya and gazed at her for a while and realised that she must be getting bored and went to get rid of her ghungaat. He sat beside her and held her soft hands and kissed them gently. Navya closed her eyes as she felt his lips on her hand she moved a little bit. "I'm sorry Navya for being late, I won't leave that girl tomorrow" Anant was happy but angry at Nimisha.
"No Anant just leave it is not her fault she is only young it's her right to tease you, me and Harsh are the same" Navya smiled under her ghungaat. Anant was raring to see Navya's face and he gently lifted her veil. He was smiling at her and she was looking down. "There is no need to be shy Pagal Ladki I'm your husband now" Anant laughed at her shyness and Navya looked down but having a glance at Anant. He lifted her chin and held her cheek. She finally looked up and they shared a cute eye lock. Navya looked at Anant lovingly and gave a cute smile "Anant I can't believe it, I can't believe that I am Mrs Anant Bajpai I would have never imagined it too happen so quickly I am no longer the normal Navya, I'm someone else" Navya smiled and stared at Anant never wanting to look away.
"Navya, its reality we were always destined to be one and now it has happened no one can ever separate us, because I won't let them!" Anant looked at Navya and held her hand tightly. They laughed and remembered the way they met. Right from the first day on Valentine's Day when he protected her from the protesters. Then there first project together where they worked day and night and helped each other. All the moments that they shared together their first hug and kiss Anant hugged Navya tightly and Navya closed her eyes and felt Anant's heartbeat. The songs my heart goes all dhin tana played as they hugged each other. "Navya I love you, I have a surprise for you something that I have made just to express my feelings again" Anant smiled at Navya and kissed her hand; Navya looked confused and wondered what it could be. "What is it Anant, I have no idea what you're talking about?" Navya sounded even more confused.
"Wait and watch!" Anant smirked. He got down on one knee and held her hand; he took out a piece of paper and unfolded it. He read the poem out loud:
My life is nothing without you sweetheart
You are the glue that holds me together
And keeps me from falling apart
I've loved you from the very beginning
When our eyes met for the first time
I was willing to do anything
To see it again
And see your glowing smile
And hear your voice again
After all this time together
Your voice will echo
From now to forever
We have experienced every wonder of the highest points
To the nightmares
And horrors of the lowest points
What we have has never faded once
And it will never fade, never.
I don't care how rough our life might be
As long as your there with me

Because it doesn't matter if all I have is you
Since you are my everything.
And life is nothing without you.
And everything in the world couldn't replace that
If you promise to always stay by my side
I will promise you to always keep what we have intact
Because I'd rather have nothing and only you
Then everything without you
" Navya you must be wondering why I wrote this as we have already vowed to support each other but I wrote this poem especially for tonight as I wanted to express my love for you again and how much your importance matters to me. I know before the wedding I hurt you a lot and I just want to say sorry" Anant held his ears in front of Navya and she held his hand. She knelt down as well.
"Anant, I love you! I know how much you love me and how important I am for you; I promise that I will always be with you in thick and thin because you're my everything, I could do anything for you if that means risking my life..." Anant stopped her from talking and held her lips, Navya looked deeply into Anant's eyes and a tear rolled down her face. She felt she had everything when she had Anant with her; there was no fear in her eyes of where life would take her but just eyes filled with passion and love. She kissed his forehead gently and then both of his cheeks. Anant was mesmerised with her actions he pointed towards his lips and indicated her to kiss him on the lips as well. Navya stood up and ran to the balcony outside as she was embarrassed. Anant smiled to himself and followed her outside. She stood at the balcony smiling at the stars and closed her eyes as she felt the night breeze hit her face softly. Anant creped behind her and turned her around by her waist. "Why did you run away Mrs Bajpai?" Anant asked politely. Navya didn't reply but she gave a shy smile she ran to another part of the balcony and tried to hide from Anant. Anant followed her and held her tightly from behind. She felt so right when he held her from behind and stayed there. She remembered the picnic night in the forest when it happened and she held her head back on Anant's chest and smiled. She moved away but Anant caught her hand and they formed a hand lock. "Leave me Anant..." Navya spoke softly. He kept walking towards her and she kept on walking backwards they eventually couldn't move any further back as she was at a wall. She was trapped. Anant held her cheek and whispered into her ear. "You can't get away from me now, you're stuck" Anant continued to kiss her cheeks and kissed her lips she closed her eyes and moved around but she couldn't do so because Anant held her hands tightly so she couldn't move. She wanted to move away but didn't want to lose these precious moments with Anant as she was so close to him. He drew her closer to him and he hugged her. The clouds moved in and thunder struck, heavy rain started to fall and Anant and Navya got drenched in the rain. Anant carried Navya back into the room and they both stared into each other's eyes. He sat her down next to the fireplace that was fitted into Anant's room earlier and he wiped her with a towel and made sure she was warm. She grabbed her long hair and as she bought it round it drenched Anant's face he gave a shocked face and Navya laughed at him. Anant pulled a face and she stood up and wiped his face to get rid of the water. She got closer to him and whispered in his ear "Sorry Mr Bajpai" Navya smiled and Anant was on cloud nine at her mesmerising beauty as she dried the rest of her hair. As they had got dry, Navya decided to get rid of her heavy ornaments as she wouldn't be able to sleep in them she sat at the dressing table and slowly took her earrings out. Anant who was staring at her for a long time got an idea and walked behind her and helped her take the rest of her ornaments off. He brushed her hair to the front and took her necklace off as he bought it to the front her mangalsutra caught his watch and he was stuck. Navya giggled to herself and they both tried to untie it. It wouldn't untie and both of their hands were touching each other constantly." Just leave it Navya we will stay like this always, then no one will be able to separate us and then we won't be able to make an excuse of not wanting to spend time with each other" Anant laughed at his joke but Navya still tried to untie it. She finally did it and laughed at Anant because he wasn't helpful. He slowly untied the string in her lengha and he smiled while he was doing this. Navya looked down embarrassed. Navya looked up at Anant and he kissed her on the cheek. "I love you Mrs Bajpai!" Anant looked at her through the mirror and Navya replied "I love you too Anant." She stood up and walked towards the bathroom and Anant stopped her from going. Navya pulled a face at him to let her go to the bathroom but Anant was reluctant not to let her. "Anant!" Navya shouted at him. Anant wasn't listening to a word and he walked towards her and held her waist. "You don't need to change nor do anything just be with me!" Anant looked down at her. "Please Anant, let me just 5 minutes!" Navya demanded.
"No you're not going anywhere and Anant drew Navya closer to her. He picked her up so she couldn't move. "Anant, what are you doing? Put me down!" Navya didn't shout but she said it quite loudly. "Shhh...Sshhh Don't say anything Pagal just wait and watch!" Anant told her to be quiet and he carried her back into the room. Navya held him tightly as this was the first time she was in Anant's arms she felt shy but was on cloud nine as Anant was so close to her. He laid her on the bed and held her cheek. He leaned forward to her and kissed her face and then slowly down to her neck. "Anant what are you doing?" Navya murmured to Anant.
"Just shhh" Anant whispered and continued. He slowly kissed her and undressed her slowly every touch that Anant made Navya felt out of this world. She grabbed his sherwani and let him carry on. Anant blew out the candles around them and the scene moved to the image of a full moon. They made love all night and the sun eventually rose in the morning. The sun shone through their room and Navya's head was laid on Anant's shoulder she rubbed her eyes and smiled. She kissed him on the cheek and she tried to sneak out of the bed without waking up Anant, but Anant smiled and grabbed her hand and she fell on his chest. "Anant, what are you doing its 6am I have to get dressed for pooja!" Navya didn't want to move but had to because she didn't want to give a bad impression. "Just five minutes Navya just lay with me and talk to me" Anant spoke in his sleep.
"No Anant I can't I can talk to you my whole life now, I'm Mrs Bajpai now remember!" Navya looked proudly at Anant and his eyes opened wide after her words.
"I love you Mrs Bajpai, but before you go, you have to do something? Anant smirked at his plan.
"What now, Anant?" Navya smiled at Anant's childish remarks. He pointed at his lips and said "Can you kiss me like yesterday night how many times was that?" Anant smiled at Navya and she got shy.
"No I can't Anant I'll be late" Navya tried to get away.
"No excuses Mrs Bajpai it's the rules from now on" Anant smiled to himself. She leaned further towards him, Anant was getting excited and felt so lucky she kept her hand secretly in front of her lips and kissed her hand. Anant realised that she was nearing for a kiss but she didn't do it. She quickly threw a pillow at him and ran into the bathroom with her sari. Anant shouted "You may have got away this time but now watch what I do to you" Navya at the door laughed and felt like her life was complete. It was 15 minutes later and Navya walked out of the bathroom in her red and silver sari. She was wearing red again because it was her first proper day at her in laws and red is an auspicious colour. Anant sat looking through his Blackberry and his jaw dropped as he saw Navya walk out. His eyes followed her every move around the room and he couldn't take his eyes off her. Navya wearing her mangalsutra and pinning her veil back mumbled to Anant "Do I look okay? Is it too much?" Navya looked tense in the mirror. Anant walked up to her and kissed her cheek gently.
"You defiantly look like Mrs Anant Bajpai! You are the most beautiful woman in the world" Anant looked at her and hugged her tightly.
"Anant don't hug me you haven't had a bath, go otherwise you will be late I'm going downstairs to get ready for the pooja!" Navya shouted at him she pushed him into the bathroom and he blew her a flying kiss. She laughed and walked out of the room having a quick glance at her in the mirror and adjusting her sari. She went downstairs to find Sughanda and Savita getting ready for the pooja. She took both their blessings and they smiled at her "Navya beta you look beautiful!" Sughanda was mesmerised by her beauty.
Savita added. "Jiji, you have got such a beautiful Daughter in Law you're very lucky!" Navya smiled and they shared happy moments, Rama overheard this from upstairs and she pulled a face. "Ma, can I help you with the pooja?" Navya asked politely. Navya was handed the task of getting everything ready and she did it lovingly. Meanwhile, in Anant's room he quickly got ready and rang Ranbir as he missed his call he just told him that it was a normal night and didn't want to disclose what really happened. But Ranbir got the indication. HOPJ walked down the stairs and was shocked to see that Navya had already started the arrangements and they were all perfect. She went to double check them but could not find a mistake. Navya took Bua Dadi's blessings and she blessed her happily. It was nearing 7am and all the family gathered downstairs Navya and Anant took Baba's and Om's blessings and they stood ready for the aarti. Nimisha nudged Anant and smiled at him secretly. Anant felt a little bit shy.
"Navya, Anant you will do the pooja today as it is Navya's first day here" Bua Dadi ordered. They both walked to the front and Navya picked up the veneration plate. Anant held the tray with her and she sang the Shiv Aarti while everyone else followed. Baba, Om, Bua Dadi and Rama were shocked that Navya could sing the aarti and sing so beautifully. Anant looked at Navya and gave a wow face at how wonderful his wife is as she is perfect. They finished the aarti and Navya gave everyone offerings and everyone was happy.
