LOL yes mature Anant is back but I still feel that they are kids cuz of how innocent their feelings are how lost and helpless they seem with this turmoil they are going through...the way they've expressed themselves to date...there's always been something very innocent, simple and pure about it...qualities one does associate with kids...well I do atleast😆

*sighs* Anu - A/N's phone conversation was the highlight of the episode for me - I just LOVE all the symbolisms shown in the serial - be it Ranbir's putting check marks against Anant's cross marks or Dadi's nuske about dard. Anant and Navya's phone conversations are always well scripted. And you are right, Soumya did a decent job yesterday. Shaheer's performance was controlled and very nice. You've captured all the nuances perfectly. 😊

CSB's symbolism about pill and water was OTT. And the way he delivers the dialogue makes it look even worse than it is... But let me pick on it for a moment ...

CSB said that just as the pill completely dissolves in water, so does a woman intertwine her life with her man's. After that point, neither the water nor the man are the same. They are bound to the pill and the woman respectively, forever. One cannot separate the two, even if they want to. And that holy bond is called as marriage.

Yeah CSB and his son is are MCPs no doubt and they do not think highly of women. But in this case, I don't think CSB was trying to undermine a woman's existence. He was trying, in his own sleazeball way, to preach Anant that marriage is a holy bond that changes one's life forever. And no matter what happens, once that bond is formed, you cannot break away from it - yes you can divorce and yes you can be widowed, but the name of that one person who marries you is always associated with you, in a way it changes you forever.

Like I said, the way he said it was sleazy ... and the actor performing the role is not up to the mark either. So he makes it sound like a creepy dialogue from a horror film.

Oh LadyM, that's an interesting way to look at it. hmmm if only it were some other man in place of this CSB dude who makes everything he says and does look super creepy. Bad casting!

Aww yeah LadyM...totally agree that the symbolism is very nicely shown in this show...probably why I still keep watching...Daadi's advice about dard and nuske was a veryy nicely written scene that really touched me too cuz she's SO daadi-like too...reminds me so much of my own grandma.

Re: CSB...I agree with you that it is the actor more than anything else that makes the lines come across as sleazy cuz of the way he says them...plus it seems like the makers ENJOY playing up his creepiness...with the camera angles and bg score they use for his scenes too😕😆

As for the actual convo...I also think the dialogues were written creepily to an extent...the way he mentioned how the pill has no astitva left after it dissolves in the water...deffo had a sleazy undertone plus a NAUSEATINGLY MCP stench to it🤢🤢🤢...yes a marriage is a union of two ppl who become one through this bond...but this dude worded it like the woman was totally insignifcant and her only purpose in life is to "dissolve" herself in the a man through marriage

And I toh didn't see him stressing much on the finality of marriage being forever as much as it being the next step of his "zimmedaari" or whatever...

Seriously these ppl need to be thrown in jail for trying to marry off a 19 year old!

Yep the makers try to play on the creepiness of CSB even more ... so much so that it is nauseating at times. 🤢 And yeah I can understand why anyone would think the worst when CSB says such a thing. Anyhoo - two POVs of looking at it, I guess *shrugs*

Awww Dadi is so endearing ... and she reminds me of my own Dadi too... who was kadak, yet loving *nostalgic muh*

Oooh - One trivia - Panha is actually is a sweet drink prepared from the pulp of sour raw mangoes and sweetened using jaggery/sugar. It is famous cooling drink in Mumbai typically prepared at homes during summer season, when the temperatures are soaring. The drink that Dadi brought to Navya in a mug was a bitter medicine... which she asked her to gulp at one go! Not Panha. :-)

Ohhh ok so what she brought later on was medicine and not panna...or panha as I guess it's spelt😆...gotcha.

Well I'm aware of Aam panna...that's what I've had many times but I didn't know that it was specific to Mumbai...I toh had it growing up in north India also😆
