First off, I'll intro myself. Hi, my name is Vita! 😃 I started watching Nadaan Parindey since day 1 and have been hooked on tightly since then. I thought of being a bit more active on the forum because 1) exams khatam ho gaya! and 2) it's always infinitely more fun interacting with people who are just as big fans of the show :D
I really must applaud the show, for being one of the rare few that can actually move a plot along. For example, if this were one of the other typical shows:
Monday: Sameer spends an entire episode chatting with Bebe + Meher; add in slow-mo + "Tum Hi Ho" when he talks to Meher. Show the jeep ride to the jungle/ambush area. Sameer takes out a picture of Meher from his wallet, stares at it fondly. Places it next to the picture of Bebe. Caresses the pictures+gives a little flying kiss. Back home, Meher is lost in deep thoughts.
Tuesday: Purab +gang reach jungle. Lengthy plans. Have some recce of area and set up tabu for the night. Fire crackles. Outside, Sameer as usual reminicses about Bebe-ki-haat-ki-lajawab khana to the completely mute Ashish. Within the tabu, Purab furiously discuss mission's khatarnakness with other people, while simultaneously hinting at Sameer's inevitable doom.
Wednesday: Purab + gang in jungle. Slow-mo lengthened fight scenes. Last 30s, dhun-dhun-dhun (some fight scene in the middle where Purab had his rifle aimed at Sameer). Left-view, right-view, front-view, eagle-eye view, view from within a random haystack that Purab was sitting next to + 4x slowed-down raising of rifle, aiming properly and finger moving its way to trigger. Overlay with some extra Bebe-Meher praying scenes with furious bell-ringing/diya flickering dangerously.
Thursday: Starts off by showing that naturally Purab did not succeed in shooting Sameer and dangerously flickering diya miraculously returns to it's original brightness. Expect half the episode to be of Purab's little shaitan voice (in head) saying that Sameer Atwal tum kab tak bachoge etc etc + random smirks. Even though they are technically still fighting (but who cares - inner monologue win!). P/S finish killing the dushman. P/S approach random conveniently located lake to wash off their blood. Sameer thanks Purab for saving his life while dreaming about Meher. Purab's anger boiling. *break* Next 15min watch Purab give random metaphors about how he has always been taught in life not to lose, he will not jeet the jung to haaro the jung of his dil etc while Sameer get's exceedingly puzzled. End of with: Tumse hain mera sabse bada jung! Queue 50 different angled shots, plus ominous wind blowing, including scene effects like lightning strikes and the camera frame shattering.
Friday: Continue from where we left off. Purab finally spends the next 15min explicitly and meticulously explaining every single metaphor he used the day before. Purab holds up gun to chest. Sameer tries to dissuade him; Purab seems to be reconsidering as he lowers the gun, brows furrow. *break* Purab brings gun back up, smirks and shoots. Shot is heard all over the world as birds fly, diya finally dies off, Bebe wakes up with a shout during her afternoon slumber and Meher's jee ghabrati hain.
Maybe I exaggerate, but I'm guessing this is how it would have gone?
Instead we are treating to 2 full months of fantastic storyline, heartfelt scenes that last just as long as they are needed and an actual set-up to the plot that the trailer had promised us. I'm always very excited to watch the show because they don't waste time on stupid galat famee and so on; they get right on the dot and proceed.
Also, love the cast! Main cast are superb in their acting (though sometimes Sameer gets a tad too annoying but hey) and overall superbly enjoyable.
I truly hope they stick to their good qualities and continue on in the future.
