The Nach Baliye 2 participants are divided over their opinions after a city tabloid broke the news of Thane Cyber Crime Cell questioning contestants Manav Gohil and Shweta Kawaatra on the purchase of 200 odd SIM cards.

According to the police, the couple purchased these SIM cards from an Andheri-based BPL dealer to gift them to their friends and well wishers who could then vote for them on the show.

While this piece of news has sent shock waves among the better dancers (Gaurav-Narayani, Shweta-Raja, Gurdip-Arjun) who were ousted earlier than expected, the average dancers a la Keerti Gaekwad, Ketaki Dave seem to have no problem. Raja's sulk story

Shweta (Tiwari) and I would have definitely remained in the dance contest, had Manav and Shweta played fairly. Judging by appearances, we would've never thought that Shweta and Manav could do this. They used to say that they don't even have time to vote for themselves.

Shweta Tiwari's surprise

Star One had told us we were in the second position in terms of votes, and suddenly in just a few days we found ourselves in the danger zone. If one couple resorts to such tactics how can you be sure the other couples aren't doing this too. Why were we sweating it out rehearsing for ten hours every day, when another couple was going ahead through the shorter route?

I am not surprised that people are resorting to foul means. This must be going on in all the game shows. To my knowledge, this is not a new phenomenon.

Narayani's candid act

I don't want to comment on others. Gaurav and I were the second couple to be voted out, which clearly tells you that we didn't indulge in such things. Our conscience is clear.

It is very unfair to call them cheats and say that they should be sacked. India is a democratic country. Plus, we were never told that we couldn't buy extra SIM cards and vote for ourselves. So how does one know that the other contestants are not doing it too? On top of it all, the contest permits only 20 votes per SIM card.

Bakhtyaar's clean chit

I've gone through the whole news in detail. I conclude there is no proof that nails Shweta-Manav. I would rather give them a clean chit. Manav is a dear friend and some time back, he helped me through a rough phase in my life.

Ketaki's format problem

I like the fact that only one SIM card can get you only 20 votes else some crazy and rich fan can go on a major voting spree, but how do the extra votes that are being pumped by contestants for themselves matter? Do we get to see how many votes each couple got? Plus, the format is illogical. When co-contestants can vote you out at the first opportunity, do votes really matter? Nach Baliye 2 is not about dancing potential. It's all about how much popular you are in the television industry.

Actually, sab competitive shows mein yeh ho raha hai. But I don't think Shweta-Manav have indulged in this. I know them personally and they will not stop so low. If at all they have done it, I think they were unaware of the consequences.

Let Shweta and Manav be!

On the condition of anonymity, we asked all the Nach Baliye 2 contestants if Shweta and Manav should be sacked because of the SMS controversy. Most contestants believe they should be allowed to continue.

Couple 1: Let Star One take the call.
Couple 2: The channel (Star One) tells us we all resort to these methods. So why and how will they sack anyone?
Couple 3: No. Let them continue.
Couple 4: We do not wish to comment, even off record.
Couple 5: We will talk but not until the competition is over and done.
Couple 6: It is cruel to even think about sacking them.
Couple 7: Not sure if they should be sacked, but one phone dealer told me about a month back that Yash Tonkk had picked up 1200 cards from him.
Couple 8: No. These votes will hardly count. If they are popular, only then they will win.
Couple 9: Not reachable.

Oh Great, now bring Yash Tonkk into the controversy as well!! I wonder which couple would have said that.....

well..what is the proof that other contestants r not paying their friends to buy sims cards and vote for them instead of the contestants going and buying them...i think the couples need to stop complaining..and concentrate on thier dancing..at the end..who ever the "JUNTA" likes will win..how much ever they vote for themselves..what happened to Poonam/Manish last year??they did not win!!

ahhh Sweta and Raja are the only ones who had to complain about it while the others supported or decided to stay out of it. They are such soar losers.
