Its a real shame. I was an ardent follower of the story and its deeply distressing to see that it was not even a little original. I feel stupid that I didn't think about checking out the actual story beforehand and for being the first to jump to her defense until i saw that apart from the names she has literally not changed even a punctuation mark. I don't think there is definitely not enough awareness about plagiarism as there should be. I want to believe that maybe she's just a college student who has no idea what she was doing but that would be letting it off WAY too easy- because its just basic to know that if you are putting out content that is not your original work then you need to acknowledge the source. In this case it's way more serious- she has lifted an entire book! the repercussions of that should be huge. I hope its a lesson learnt for a lifetime.
@rehanna- since you mentioned that you had contacted the original author, could you please pass on all the compliments that we had all showered on her too. she richly deserves it. I thought it was an absolutely beautiful story and she should receive all the accolades!

Ah! so "inspired" meant she copied huge chunks word for word...I asked if it was inspired? being there was going to be original content in the story but she was using the contract premise for the story...then it fell off my radar...and i didnt check up/read it.
but WOW! how sad! it was copied word for word!

I have actually read a negotiated marriage and realized mid way that she had copied the entire thing word by word. But chose to keep quiet, thinking she will change the plot or bring out another twist. Nothing happened, except for probably the duration of marriage and she forgetting her mangalsootra along with ring. Then, probably I lost interest and didn't follow up.
I was extremely wrong and feel disappointed in myself for not pointing it out. But, I had no idea that the os was copied too.But hats off to you, you made the right choice.

It is so sad that people use others creativity 😕
They think that being Extremely Inspired means COPY /PASTE.
