Isteefa means resignation.
For him avni is his priority and we have seen before too that he was ready to leave his job, family, house, city, for Avni.
But after his confrontation with Vidyut today he realised that the only way he can protect Avni is by staying on the case and hence said he would want to take the ownership of this case later to the commissioner.
