So everybody is blatantly confused about the twist that neil is the child doctor akash from avni's childhood, and avni is the girl who he loved who died somehow or something like that. Well done to the people who had guessed that neil is the child doctor from the start, although i don't understand how you guys even guessed it in the first place that our supercop neil is the child doctor akash.

However, i'm still holding out on whether this is just speculation rather than a true spoiler, although i am really hoping it is the latter. But at the same time it doesn't make sense. Akash, from what i have heard from you guys was a brief character who knew and helped avni for a very short time, so how could neil, if he is akash, fall in love with avni at such a young age when he only knew her for a little time, grown up to love her and that the likes of DD saying that he can't talk about it when ali asked him about neil's love story, saying it as if it was a painful and tragic love story with a girl that he was in a serious relationship with and DD didn't feel right talking about it, plus neil's mother's conversation with neil also made it sound like it was a serious mature relationship that neil had with a girl and something went wrong. The way dd and neil's mum talk about neil's girlfriend, it doesn't seem like they are talking about a girl who neil only met for a brief time in childhood. None of this is adding up with the revelation from the spoiler.

Plus neil, without being forced has not only agreed to marry riya, but also seems to be doing everything he can to make sure the alliance with riya/mehta's and his family doesn't break, which is strange considering he is only supposedly marrying riya for his parent's happiness and to move on in life, but the way he even keeps trying to convince his mother in favour of the mehta's so she doesn't break the rishta and everything, it feels like he wants to marry riya more than his parents want him to. Why?

The only possibility there is to explain why neil is doing so much to make sure his family doesn't break the alliance with the mehta's would be if he had a secret motive behind marrying riya and being close to the mehta's, otherwise why would he be making all these efforts into making things right when things go wrong between the two families that could ultimately effect the alliance between them?

Well I have noticed only two points...

1) Ali is still waiting for Avni where Neil had someone special who is "DEAD" now... IF at all that special someone is Avni that means unlike Ali Neil knows About the murder attempt on Avni THIS explain his desperation or i should say determination for the marriage in Mehta family... he wants PROVE he wants to know the whole TRUTH

2) Leaving his interest in homeopathy (The profession of doctor) he went on to become a police officer... Why?

Baki I don't know only Neil can answer lol

OMG! Something just came to my mind. I have no idea whether this could be possible, but on the first episode after the leap, neil showed up at that place where avni goes, because that was the same place where avni was shot by daya and fell into the water. But what on earth was neil doing there. It was never mentioned what was neil doing there. The spoilers are saying that avni is his 'dead' girlfriend, so what if neil, when he was supposedly the child doctor akash, saw avni being shot and falling into the water and he was traumatised seeing all this, which could possibly explain why he came there to that place, and he may have chose to work in law enforcement due to this incident, and it would explain why neil is willingly choosing to marry riya and doing everything he can to make sure the alliance doesn't break, as he may have seen daya do it, and so wants revenge or wants to get close to the mehta's so he can find evidence against daya.

I think it is because Neil/Akash have seen Avni trials, tribulations, pain, and victories. He have seen her from within. He was with her in the most crucial time, be it when she loss her mother or her journey to punish Dayavanti Mehta. He saw her determination and will power. He admired her the most. When he thought that Avni has punished the culprit, he left. But found out later that she has died. I think he's in pain and guilt that he could not save her or be with her when she needed him the most.

Agni-Neil/Akash relationship consist of respect and admiration. Although he was with her for short duration of time, still he knows Avni.

Well you guys have placed a lot of theories and lets arrange them all to form a proper conclusion.

If Neil=Akash then,

1.Akash had helped Avni for a brief period and maybe he had developed admiration and respect for her.Maybe he wanted to know her more.

2.As Sammy said,he was there on the spot where Avni had fallen to her supposed death.So it might be possible that he was present there and he had witnessed Daya killing Avni.I don't know how thats gonna happen but it's TV world where anything is possible.

3.That left a trauma on his mind that he was unable to save her.It had an everlasting effect on his mind.Neither DD nor his parents have ever used the word 'girlfriend'.It has only been mentioned that he loved someone dearly and she died.So it's possible that it was not a relationship formed during adolescence or adulthood.It can also be a bond formed in childhood.

4.Maybe that empathy and attachment which Akash had for Avni had culminated into deep feelings as he grew up.

5.Neil is an extremely intelligent man.He has carefully concealed his feelings from the rest of the world.Remember when Ali was trying to tell him about Daya and the Mehtas,he shrugged him off.That was a bit fishy.Because a man like Neil wouldn't get married just for the sake of it.It's possible that he knows everything and is planning something big against the Mehtas to get justice for Avni.For this he needs to marry Rhea.And that's why he is interested in Ananya because she is trying to hamper his plans.

6.Regarding why he left homeopathy and joined the police force then maybe joining the police force would have given him authority and power to investigate further.

Nothing is certain here.It's all about Ifs and Maybe.😆

Addressing the words i blue: even i found it odd and out of character when neil so easily shrugged off ali when he told neil about the truth of mehta's simply on the ground of "i don't like to judge and there was no proof". He definitely has a motive in wanting to marry riya...I wonder if he actually wants to marry riya, or simply wants to use marriage as an excuse to get close to the mehta's in the hopes that his mission will be completed before the marriage happens? 😕

This is a really interesting theory. I am not very familiar with the pre-leap storylines so I am not aware of the various backstories but I think this would be interesting. I think it makes sense when you put it that way and also why Neil appears so connected with Avni's past connections and lands up unexpectedly at the cliff where Avni was pushed. It also makes sense why Neil is adamant with maintaining his alliance with Riya despite not showing much investment or romantic inclination or interest in being with her. I wondered why he also refused to hear Ali's version of Dayavanti.
