So this piece was inspired by something @SoumiCh46874260 on Twitter posted. I'm using her post as an inspiration for the story. Not exact words though.
P.s. I want the misunderstanding solved within this week. But my gut feeling says this will be dragged. Anyway, enjoy the story. I'm still trying to understand how to operate India-forums website. Main karna kuch chahti hoon, ho kuch aur jata hai 😕

Seeing Bela hugging his younger brother and hearing her say, "I love you. Main sirf aapki hoon. Hamesha ki liye," to him was hard for Mahir. He clutched the glass of juice in his hand so hard that his knuckles turned white; and the next second the glass shattered into tiny pieces, cutting his hand in the process. He kept his eyes on them from his place beside Sumitra and Andy.
He saw Bela jumped away from Yuvi. But being blind in jealous rage, Mahir did not see the horrified look on his wife's face as the realization drawn to her. She had told Yuvi that she loved her instead of Mahir.
Her eyes met her husband's. After a long time -since the Rehan incident- she hadn't seen such jealousy, anger, hurt, and worse - hate in his eyes aimed towards her. She knew it broke his heart because he loved her. He had told her himself. So many times. And the one time she decided to say those words back, she messed up.
She saw his eyes leave hers and he walked out of the hall. She looked back at Yuvi once -still not believing he was standing in front of her- and looked at the path Mahir went. Without hesitating for one second, she ran after him. She had to fix this. She couldn't let him think she loved Yuvi for one second. Not again after the pregnancy drama when he almost divorced her. No, Yuvraj Sehgal -fake or not- will not snatch her love away again. Not now when she knew Mahir had not been one of the people who killed Vikrant.
She saw Mahir rush into their room just as she entered the hallway. She ran towards him.
"Mahir ji!" She panted, spent from all the running. "Mahir ji, niche jo kuch abhi hua.. Mujhe laga ki wo black suit mein aap hain. Mujhe toh pata bhi nahi tha ki wo Yuvi aane wala hai wapas."
She moved to stand in front of him but he turned his face away from her.
"Bela, it's okay. I understand. Humari beech jo bhi kuch hua uski baad bhi tum Yuvi se pyaar karti ho. Main samajh sakta hoon. Tum jo bhi kaho, wo tumhara pehla pyaar tha. Aur pehla pyaar bhoolana utna asaan nahi hota, main jaanta hoon. So you don't need to explain anything. Ab toh Yuvi bhi wapas aa gaya hai. Everything will be as it should've been."
He moved towards the door to leave, to get away from her again. Standing near her was suffocating him right now. But she held him by the wrist.
"Main jhoot nahi bol rahi hoon Mahir ji. Please mera yakeen kijiye. Agar main Yuvi se pyaar karti toh main aapse ye kyun kehti ki main humari shaadi, humara rishta nibhana chahti hoon?"
"Bela tumhe mujhse jhoot bolne ki koi zaroorat nahi hai. Abhi mujhe thodi der ki liye akela chor do. I'd really appreciate it," he said, removing his hand from her grasp.
She frowned. Why was he so stubborn?
"Nahi!"
She grabbed his arm again and pulled him to her. She cupped his face in her palms and held him firm. His hands automatically moved around her waist, wetting her saree with the blood dripping from his hand in the process. The skin of her waist being coated with the colour of his blood. She tiptoed up to reach his face and planted one.. two kisses on the corner of his mouth and the third on his lips. Her kisses were feather light but they still took his breath away.
He opened his eyes which he had closed when she dropped the first kiss. His hold around her waist tightened. Both their breathing were fast and intermingling. Their heartbeats fast enough to create dents against their ribcages. Bela broke the emotionally charged silence first.
"Favour tha. Lauta rahi hoon," she whispered. Her arms wrapping around Mahir's neck.
"Ye akhiri mauka hai Bela. Chorna chahti ho toh chor do. Kyun ki iski baad main tumhe nahi chorunga," he replied gruffly.
"Maat chorna. Kyun ki agar chor diya toh main mar jaungi," she hugged him tightly, "I love you."
"Mere rehte kabhi kuch nahi hone dunga tumhe. I promise. I love you Bela. I love you so much."
Unbeknownst to them, a shape-shifting serpent changed his form and slithered away from their doorway just then.
