Pata Hi Nahin Chalta Aaj Kal
So Mohan and Mrs. Vyas ki Kahani samaj mein aayi
It was a story about leaving behind the ghosts and inhibitions of the past and moving on to the discovery of love...
It was a journey started individually but travelled gradually in companionship, togetherness and then love...
Their title song alluded to this
With Amar's article - they met
With Rashmi - he shed his ghosts of girlfriends past and made the commitment openly to Megha
With Amar's case - she shed the ghosts of husbands past
With Manav - she made the commitment openly to Mohan
Their tracks, twists and turns all had one purpose only - moving the story and MM journey along - progressing milestones within this journey
With each milestone Mohan and Megha evolved - they evolved in their own unique way, retaining their individual quirks and characteristics, but leveraging each other's strengths and weaknesses and before they knew it they were companions...
So now that we are in NBT 2.0 what is the story of Megha and Mohan????
What is the next leg of the journey??? Do the CVs even know??
What is the dilchasp and anokhi mod of Mohan and Megha's story?
It cannot be romance, bigamy or bankruptcy as that is just a distraction... Could it be that Mohan is shown evolving into a family man confidently? Could it be Megha helping Mohan grow as a family man by reconciling with his own family ghosts?
I continue to watch this show trying to make something of it all
All I see is that we are moving from one star-studded colors celebration to the next ...
We move from one romantic or comedy scene to the next...
We move from one questionable dance sequence to the next...
We move from one location to the next...
All these are TRP creations.
But what about the story? What is the next milestone? - I understand the pressure on the CVs to introduce glittery gimmicks for TRPs and the Channel. But the gimmicks will only work if the audience is watching and the audience will only watch for a long time if they know where the story is headed.
Is it possible to keep the broad audience entertained for long watching only:
Time-pass epis - the constant celebrations and dances seem to be over hyped and underplayed. The new entries have been quite disappointing inspite of the wide-scale promotion. Venu comes off as an over-aged drag queen. Maha Guru could not possibly be Guru's dad as he has not yet demonstrated the witty yet wise family gene and seems to be resigned to be a walking talking fortune cookie bobble-head.
Wardrobe experiments - Megha was a simple girl with simple tastes. Described as simple, elegant and unique. She cannot be confidently called anyone forget all of these adjectives based on her wardrobe (including wedding night) since the ceremony. Is it unfashionable now for Megha to be simple, elegant and unique? Isn't this the reason we all admired and liked this character. Isn't this the reason the audience was drawn to her "life-like" character? For her simplicity of thought, practice and her graceful approach to life?? Does she have to be dressed in such a loud and unnatural fashion for junna mohalla? The heightened fashion sense is wonderful for Akanksha as she is a pretty girl but not for Megha as she is a mature mother of two kids.
Artificial marital disputes - the disputes are now seeming trivial and misplaced for two characters that though headstrong have evolved to a stage where they have chosen to lead this life together for love not obligation. Mohan and Megha have had more trivial disputes (started off charmingly and now...) in 4 days of their relationship than most lovers or couples in the first 18 months of marriage.
Daily de-evolution of the leads - the 'teesra baccha' angle is in poor taste and neither one of the leads or the actual bacchas of the story are coming off very impressive right now. The overtly coy Megha is difficult to stomach as this a woman who has had a happy married life with Amar and has two children. As regards the physical or sexual maturity is concerned, this woman has been there and done that so why the virgin bride avatar?? She should be teaching Mohan a trick or two not running away like a skittish doe every time he is in a ten mile radius.
Overdose of comedy - the comedic relief from the side characters which used to be interspersed sparingly in the story as fillers have now somehow become more attention grabbing than the story of the protagonists themselves.
Can the CVs pay some attention to the story now? Is it possible? Can the next leg of this journey be defined for the audience?
Will Megha and Mohan be shown evolving again and working towards another milestone on this new journey together?
Maybe Vinita Coelho the original concept and character creator can be consulted on what the next leg of the journey should be?
That being said😃
the Mohan Megha scenes were a pleasurable watch today and did not seem OTT. I even laughed at the Maa Kasam comment and the Hold That comment. Liked Megha's statement that there must be one person who you should not have to say thank you and sorry too. How true.
the scene where Mohan wakes up and watches a sleeping Megha, soaks in the serenity of a sleeping family in the wee hours of the morning while staring out at the mountainside was also very pleasurable to watch. Stolen glances more than eyelocks have always been an attraction when they come from Mohan.😃
Thank you
