Actually he reminded the audience that himani's song was a well-known popular song and that hemachandra's was not so well-know. The implication was that hemachandra deserved extra credit for his song.

And they only show Shaan's family because they always attend. The other captain whose family generally attends is Shankar Mahadevan - I have seen his son and wife sitting in the audience and the camera often closes up on them.

Wow.... That was an.... what's the word... yes... "entertaining" 20 pages...

I have a few points to make but first of all Meenaji, I must applaud you for making such a popular topic... Gajji se classes le rahi ho kya?? LOL (Before anyone thinks its a dig.. please note its a dig on gajji not on you Meena)

Alright, here I go with my two cents regarding this topic but I must warn you that this post might get quiet lengthy..

Shreya has questioned the judges decision in the past regarding Aabhas asking why Anwesha was chosen singer of the day (I would totally call that "putting down" another team member.

Mohit's team member Amey created a ruckus and all this drama but I saw NO efforts on Mohit's part to stop him from saying anything. As a captain, Mohit should have snatched the mike away from Amey and questioned judges himself if he wanted to. Amey was "putting down" a beautiful performance by Sharib.

Shankar's team Rahul and Sharib have over and over criticized the judges even though they have gotten good points all the while and Shankar has pleaded with audiences a number of times to ask for votes.

HR and Mika.... Do I even need to get into all the drama they create??? Meena, I urge you to watch the last two episodes on youtube since they are not aired in the states yet so you'll know what REAL dramebaazi is.

I DO agree with you that Shaan should not have brought out Debo's daughter out in the audience "especially" before the voting. Debo is a good singer and they don't need to rely on cheap tactics to garner votes.

As far as the point regarding Shahid peforming is concerned let me assure you that I am such a crazy Shahid fangirl that if I had a chance I would do that mehndi task to go meet him on Lift Kara De (ok maybe I am exagerrating.. but you get the point). So despite being a hardcore shahid fan, this is a musical show and yes I would have had no problems if Shahid would have just performed but he had no business singing. And yes you could clearly hear Shahid's voice during the dhan te nan part (or maybe it was just me since I concentrate on every aspect of Shahid sooo much).

Genelia blew kisses and a couple of songs later, Shahid did too. Also, again I have no probs with him dancing along in support of Mohit. Priyanka danced with Mika's team too... but the problem that concerned me was him SINGING with them not performing.

Shaan was not "putting down" Amey... HR actually retorted the anchor and said Amey's points were out of liniency and Shaan just wanted to know how the judges were giving points so that he could strategize his play accordingly cuz just like the rest of you I too believe Amey and Hemachandra are just as strong as Debojit and Anweshaa so it was a tough competition IMO.

All in all... I do agree that Shaan probably resorted to a bit of drama to get points but hello... who doesn't like to win? Atleast it wasn't as bad as HR or Amey (from Mohit's team) or Rahul-Sharib (from Shankar's team) or Shreya (putting down Anwesha for Aabhas) or Mika and his constant swearing... They have all tried to put down other teams and Shaan has not criticized the other team members but as a captain is only encouraging his own team through "some" drama... that certainly does NOT make him "FULL" of drama...

When I mentioned shankar commenting it was not about coin toss, I should have been clearer in saying but that was for at the end of show of all the goody words n deeds towards mohits team he said bichara addressing mohit n that made all that he said n did whatever good thought went hay.. His poor choice of words n attitude in commenting that sounded wrong, btw I am not against shsnksr team or him infact consider him top contender but saying in such tone to collegue respectful captain is wrong..

Just to fill you in with the details:

Mika V Mohit with Priyanka and Uday Chopras as Guests

Himani (from Mika's team) starts off by performing 'Dam Mast Qalandar' - gets great marks from both audience and judges (i think 9 or 9.5 from both)

Hemachandra (from Mohit's side) sings 'Albela Sajan Ghar Aayo Ri'. Mohit Chauhan pleads to the audience to not get swayed by Himani's 'groovy' wellknown song. He was basically asking the audience to give Hemachandra some extra credit for singing a dificult and less popular song (or something like that...).

I think the song choice is a decision made by the teams, i.e. captain+contestants

I appreciate your post so much not because I am a Shaan fan, but because I'm also an ordinary guy whose day has been made by this awesome show of common sense and straightforward logic by you. Your comments were unbiased, objective and well made.

And now. Let's end this monster of a thread. Damn you Meena1 for makign a topic that is just so deliciously meaty that it is yet to run out. I'm impressed but also shocked, confused and angry at the elasticity of this thread. It has stretched wayyy too long.

You havent got the point i was trying to make........when shankar is trying desperately to give mohit a chance to win after clearly saying whoever performs second only has won always......shankar sacrificed his turn to choose and offered it to mohit.......who obviously chose second......

They edit stuff.....the anchor ayushman must hv asked why did u sacrifice your turn and to that the answer wud have been bechara mohit let him win....it is not at all degrading....they know each other well dont worry !!! he saved mohit from going out of the tournament....mohit will be indebted to him for this.....
