Aap ka junkie
By: heena agarwal/ anita raheja
July 22, 2007
Himesh Reshammiya is the 'good boy' who eats his vegetables and never complains about his food. But when given a choice, he'd rather indulge in junk food. Sizzlers are his favourite dish and he likes anything grilled!
In Himesh's school days (he was a student of Hill Grange school), his mother, would send him a tiffin from home. But once he moved to Mithibai College, junk food and music became his biggest passions.
Himesh's Thought For Food

I am a vegetarian.

I was a non-vegetarian but I left it about two years back.

I begin my day by 9 am with prayers. I pray to God, any God. Later, I take the blessings of my parents. I have tea, no breakfast.

For lunch I have anything except rice and rotis. I eat bhaji, dal, sometimes a sizzler. I'm not fussy about vegetables, I can eat anything. Food at home is usually spicy and very Bombay style. I have Diet Coke. After food I like to have a piece of kaju katli or a piece of chocolate.

My fitness regime needs to be planned; I have not yet started it. I hardly work out but now I will.

I'm allergic to nothing in particular. If something is too oily it's bad for the voice. I try to avoid cold things. After a concert I drink two bottles of water and two glasses of orange juice.

My childhood memories

comprise of my mom, Madhu, making kaju katli for me.

Throughout the day I tend to eat diet snacks. I eat roasted, not fried, wafers. By evening I feel very hungry. I like junk food but I avoid it.

I eat my dinner by 9 or 10 pm. I like to eat sizzlers at Yoko's.

My idea of a romantic meal would be in Switzerland. The beachside would be a good idea too. I would like to have sizzlers. But there is no special person with whom I would like to share my meal.

Sunday lunch is usually not very heavy. I like to eat spicy food.

I don't know how to cook.

My best dining friends are Prashant and Roopa.

My comfort food is basically dal chawal.

My favorite holiday dining experience was in Mauritius. I don't remember the name of the restaurant, all I recall is I had some French food.

In my car I always carry Diet Coke and pineapple juice.

In my fridge you will always find ice cream and diet coke. Baskin Robbins diet ice cream gets a preference.

(Baskin robbins is my fave too !!! @least its da only best brand u get here ! )

I like Maggi noodles.
( OOh my god !! dun tell me !!! - i luv it like nething !!)

I feel guilty about eating stuff because I am constantly watching my weight. I have avoided rice and roti for the past six months.

My favorite dish is anything grilled.

My favorite cuisines are Mughlai, Indian and Continental.

I ate unit food on the sets of Aap Ka Suroor. It was both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. The food was fine.

I don't drink so I don't have a favorite wine.

Throughout the day I keep sipping black coffee.

Himesh's
Favourite Recipe: Kaju Katli (given by his mother Madhu Reshammiya)

Ingredients

1 kg kaju powder

3/4 kg sugar

1/4 litres milk

Silver vark

Method

Heat the milk and add the sugar to the milk.

Within some time the milk will begin to curdle and form into sugar syrup.

The sugar syrup should not be very concentrated.

Add powdered kaju and stir continuously so that no lumps are formed.

Grease a thali.

Make a dough and spread evenly on the thali.

Put the silver varak on top.

Cut into pieces and serve.

Tip

While powdering the kajus, add some sugar.

If you do so, the katli will become crispy and will not exude oil.

This is true for any dry fruit.

We love the suburbs...
By: Nishant A Bhuse
July 2, 2007

…despite water clogging. Celebs tell Nishant A Bhuse the authorities have to do something to make life better for suburbanites

I was at home on Saturday so didn't experience the madness that some did.

But it was sad, disheartening and horrifying to see pictures of various locales in the newspaper.

Authorities should ensure we get a city that does not clog. I am happy to be the resident of Bandra and don't plan to shift.

Urmila Matondkar, Bandra

I couldn't go to office in JVPD Scheme, as it was flooded. I would've needed a f***ing boat to do that.

Instead of us shifting our base, why doesn't the BMC pull up its socks?

Emraan Hashmi, Pali Hill

This was just a trailer, the real rains are yet to come. It is a sensitive issue and the BMC should look into it before things worsen.

I am happy and proud to stay in the suburbs. Apart from water clogging in the monsoons, there is no inconvenience here.

Himesh Reshammiya, Versova

My younger brother has come to my place for vacations and my parents were scared to death at what they saw on television.

They were calling frantically. It's been just two years since we have shifted to Versova, so I don't know much about this place.

I feel sorry for Mumbai, as it is a lovely place to live. Though the people here pay heavy taxes to the government and BMC, they are not safe.

Kangana Ranaut, Versova

Pak pirates make hay while Himesh sings and dances
A record 5.5 lakh copies of Aap Ka Suroor hit Pakistan piracy market

In Demand: Himesh Reshammiya and Mallika Sherawat in Aap Ka Surroor
Around 5.5 lakh copies of Himesh Reshammiya-starrer Aap Ka Suroor have hit Pakistan's piracy market.

This, sources said, makes it the most pirated film in the history of Bollywood piracy in Pakistan.

Sadaf Video, reportedly owned by Karachi-based don Chhota Shakeel, which is distributing the pirated DVDs and VCDs of the film in Pakistan, is expected to make profits to the tune of Rs 25 crore from the film.

Himesh upbeat

Aslam Siddique Hussein, a key trafficker of pirated master prints in Karachi, UAE and Bangladesh, said, "Himesh is a star now. The order for his debut movie is more than 50 per cent of the print run that most other Bollywood releases command in Pakistan and Bangladesh. Our DVD combining Aap Ka Suroor, Apne and Aawarapan should reach the markets by June 30."

Himesh was upbeat about the reception his film has received. "I am overwhelmed that my music has sold so well and happy that my film should be received with so much enthusiasm in Pakistan and UAE. However, it is sad that piracy is killing our business and making crores out of it."

Dekh lenge!

M M Satish, president of the Anti- Piracy cell of T-Series, who own the copyrights to Aap Ka Suroor and Apne, say they will make all efforts to stop the pirated copies from entering India.

"Unfortunately, the copyright law is not enforced strictly in Pakistan and companies like Sadaf Video flourish there. I have already eradicated Sadaf in India and will block the entry prints pirated by them into the country," said Satish. He had earlier received threats from the underworld for barring the entry of pirated prints of Krrish into India.
