A Strange Connection : Part III

--Gunjan's Cabin--

Gunjan was busy working something on computer when she got a call.

Gunjan: Hello.
Gayatri: Gunjan! Come to my cabin please.
Gunjan: Yes ma'am!

Gunjan kept the phone and went to Gayatri's cabin.

--Gayatri's Cabin--

Gunjan: May I come in, ma'am?
Gayatri: Come in!

Gunjan came in and saw Samrat standing there. Both smiled at each other and looked at Gayatri.

Gayatri: So.. I called both of you for a special reason. Actually I got everything finalized for my dream project. So I want you both to work on it.
Gunjan (shocked): What?
Gayatri: What happened Gunjan? You seem nervous!
Gunjan (nervous): Ma'am, actually, I just came today and giving the responsibility of your dream project..!
Gayatri: Don't worry! Samrat is there naa. So just relax.
Samrat (confused): But ma'am, why us?
Gayatri (smilingly): Because I feel that I can trust you both blindly. And I'm damn sure that you both will rock as a team. So no nervousness okay?

Samrat and Gunjan nodded positively with a forced smile.

Gayatri: Good! So take the file in front of you. Study it properly and make a report of it by tomorrow. Then you guys can start working on it.
Samrat: Yes ma'am!

Samrat took the file kept in front of him and then they both left.

--Office Lobby--

Samrat and Gunjan were walking in the office lobby.

Samrat: Nervous?
Gunjan (lowered eyes and low tone): Umm.. no!
Samrat (teasingly): Really?
Gunjan: Yeah!
Samrat: But your face is telling something different! You are nervous.
Gunjan (pale): Actually yeah! I'm nervous. It's my first day here and suddenly the dream project and all.
Samrat (smilingly): Don't worry! I'm with you naa. So relax.

Gunjan smiled after Samrat supported her.

Samrat (smilingly): It's lunch time now. So lets go to the cafeteria if you don't mind.
Gunjan: I won't! *smiles* Lets go!

--Cafeteria--

Samrat and Gunjan sat in the cafeteria.

Samrat: What will you eat?
Gunjan: I don't know what I can get here. So buy anything you like.
Samrat: Sure! You sit here, I'm coming.

Gunjan nodded smilingly. Samrat went to bring their lunch. Gunjan sat there and looked around. Everything was so joyful here. All were smiling and enjoying with their friends. She smiled seeing everyone enjoying. Suddenly her smile vanished when she thought of her past.

"Gunjan, sandwich is so yucky! How can you eat it? Uff! I always prefer my all-time-favorite french fries!"

She shook her head when that voice sounds echo to her ears. Tears unknowingly streamed from her beautiful eyes. Just then, Samrat came and Gunjan quickly wiped out her tears.

Samrat (smilingly): Here you go! Chicken sandwiches!
Gunjan (shocked): OMG! How did you know that I like sandwich?
Samrat (confused): You too like sandwich? Its my favourite too!
Gunjan (smilingly): Oh really? Well that's a good coincidence.
Samrat (laughingly): Hahah! Yeah!

They smiled and started eating. Gunjan looked at Samrat and laughed a little. Samrat noticed that.

Samrat (confused): Why are you laughing?
Gunjan (laughingly): You are eating as if you are a 2 year old kid.

Samrat laughed. Seeing him laughing, Gunjan laughed too.

Samrat (baby face): That's because I can't resist it.
Gunjan (smiling like a kid): Me too!

Both smiled again and kept eating. Samrat's smile disappeared thinking of Sheena.

"Why did you ate my left-over sandwich, Samrat?"
"Cuz people say that love grows strong if the lovers share their food!"

Samrat's face turned gloomy thinking of that particular moment with Sheena.

Samrat: Gunjan, I'm coming within a while.
Gunjan: Sure!

Samrat went to the washroom and cried his heart out without making any sound. After he felt relaxed, he washed his face off and came back to Gunjan. Gunjan noticed Samrat's red eyes which made her a little suspicious.

Gunjan: Are you alright?
Samrat: Yeah! I'm fine. Anyways, lets talk about the project.
Gunjan: Okay! So we have to check out the file first and discuss about it. Only after that, we can make it's report.
Samrat: Umm.. Okay! So we can work on it after lunch.
Gunjan: Sure!

Gunjan suddenly felt dizzy. She touched her head and squeezed her eyes.

Samrat (concerned): Gunjan, I think you are falling ill because of the accident.
Gunjan: Nope! I'm fine.
Samrat: Nope you aren't! You should take a half-day off today. You should take rest today. We can work on the report tomorrow.
Gunjan (worried): But ma'am told us to submit the report tomorrow.
Samrat: Don't worry! I'll talk with her.

Gunjan nodded and stood up. She was about to fall when Samrat held her. He put her hand around his arms and took her to her cabin.

--Gunjan's house--

Samrat's car stopped in front of Gunjan's home. He came out of the car with a bag of medicines in his hand and opened the other door. He took Gunjan out of the car and put her hands around his arms again. They went inside the home. Entering the house, Samrat took Gunjan to her bedroom and made her lie down.

Samrat: You better take rest, okay! I'll visit ya after the office time.
Gunjan: Did you talk with Gayatri ma'am?
Samrat: Yeah I have talked with her! And don't worry. She agreed. We will submit the report day after tomorrow. And you please don't feel any burden on yourself. Health is more important than any work. So relax.

Gunjan smilingly nodded positively.

Samrat: Anyways bye for now. See ya!
Gunjan: Bye!

Samrat turned around to go when Gunjan called him..

Gunjan: Mr. Shergill..

Samrat turned around to Gunjan and said, "Yep!"

Gunjan (smilingly): Thanks!
Samrat: I'll accept your thanks only on one condition!
Gunjan (confused): What?
Samrat (baby face): Please don't call me Mr. Shergill! It sounds like I'm a 40-years-old buddha!

Gunjan laughed and said, "Okay, Samrat!"

Samrat smiled and said, "Better!" Saying that, he left.

--Gunjan's bedroom--

Gunjan smiled and thought, "Sometimes people whom we consider as our dear ones leave us and sometimes strangers support and help us in our hardships. That's what is life called." Thinking that in mind, she fell asleep.

--Samrat in the car--

Samrat was driving back to his office. He said to himself, "I know her only for a while. Yet I'm so comfortable with her. Even she is, too! What a weird thing but I guess, that's what is destined. She's ill because of me. God! Please make her better soon." Saying that, he smiled.

--Samrat's Cabin--

Samrat was busy working in computer. Just then his eyes went to the clock. "It's 5pm! I should go to visit Gunjan!" Saying that, he stood up, took all his things from his table and left from his cabin.

--Gunjan's house--

Samrat came in front of Gunjan's door. He was about to press the doorbell, just when, he thought, "What if she's sleeping! I shouldn't disturb her." He turned around to go back but he stopped. "I should see her once to check if her health has improved." He again turned to the door and touched it. As he touched it, he realized that the door was opened. He was confused. He entered inside and went to Gunjan's room. Seeing her sleeping so innocently made him smile. He came to her and was about to wake her up but he stopped. "She's fine, that's why she is sleeping peacefully. I shouldn't disturb her. She should take rest.", he thought. Thinking that, he left.

awww...it was so cute...

samrat supporting gunjan and making her comfortable

for the project...brought a smile on my face 😊

and then drpping her home,he really cares for her 😳

and this line is so true
