Add English Subtitle in Star One Channel

PETITION:

Star One TV channel airs many television shows however there are many people from worldwide who watches the program and they cannot speak Indian or understand Indian Language. This petition is a request for a english subtitles be included to Star One TV channel to add subtitles. It would benefit those who has a hearing impairment and also those who struggles to understand the language in the program. Star One TV Channel have programs such as Geet, Dil Mil Gaya etc. I really require your support.

I agree but sometimes it gets distracting. Like a few people who don't understand english would get distracted by the subtitles.
Not only the illiterate ones, but the others might also get distracted. Like once I was watching Om Shanti Om on DVD which had these subtitles.. I ended up reading the subtitles only rather than watching the movie!
Just my POV, if majority agrees to subtitles thingy, I will sign the petition too 😊

@Lekha: this involve all those programs on Star One Channel (Mjht, geet, dmg)

@Ayesha.Ization : Yep few members thinks it cause distraction or ruin the picture quality. However I remember watching Om Shanti Om with subtitles and it did distract me because the subtitles were in black. When i watch Star Plus the subtitle is in white, it didn't distract me as much and i kind of got used to those subtitles. the more you watch with subtitles the more you get used to having them and they won't be a distraction anymore.

I am only doing this because i love watching Geet, DMG, etc and they don't have subtitles which i have to rely on the written updates....it's a bit annoying to some people with lack of hindi knowledge, or those non-indian or those Deaf / Hearing impaired people....

I guess I am doing this for a good causes and just stay strong and not give up with gaining signatures for the petition.

i think thats a great idea but i also agree to ayesha's point.....................

its really distracting..........................i know it will help people who cant understand hindi but they can translate the lang on utube and listen..................................coz it seeems like we are watchin a movie n there is mre attention or the subz than on the actors or the drama ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,n i dont wanna miss even 1 expression ov my sammy........................so i am nt signing the petition...............srry

@ishika: I know alot of people found subtitles distracting. However my main concerns is for those who are Deaf and those who are non-indian as well as those who doesn't understand hindi so well. I am Deaf and at times I found myself missing part of the story and have to depend on the written updates.

I have always watched tv with subtitles. Subtitles can be turned on or off. Example when you are watching a hollywood DVD, you wanted to add subtitles, all you need to do is go in the language section and add the subtitles of your choices.

There was a time when I once missed my favourite TV program (SMALLVILLE) so i went on their original website. On the website it had a button to make the screen bigger and next to that there was another button to display subtitles. This benefit everyone if Geet series online has the same feature as Smallville.

My point here is that I prefer Star One to have subtitles added for those who want the subtitles. Just like on tv you can turn the subtitles on or off so it matches everyone's needs.
