P A R T 2
*Next Day In the Canteen*
As always Gunjan sat on her front table for lunch but this time she asked Ashwini to come and sit with her. Samrat and gang were sitting few tables away, gossiping and eating, enough to see Ashwini sitting with Gunjan. "Ashwini, why are u not participating in the talent parade" she asked with much concern. "Oh come on ... i m a new student....i dont want to..." she tried to escape
"Yes but Excel requires talented students like you and i know u r talented. Wont u help Excel in fund raising" Gunjan asked once again. It looked as though Ashwini barely heard her since she was busy eyeing at Samrat. "Ashwini...."
"Oh Yes...." something clicked her, "Gunjan u have been knowing Samrat since 2 yrs right"
"Yes", she smiled.
"Ok.. then i will dance"
Gunjan was so happy as if she was gonna do something for her "Really?"
"Yes but theres a condition."
"Whats the condition?" Gunjan asked, yet with a smile. If it wud have been someone else.. she wud have gone like not again!
"You will have to convince Samrat to participate in the event as well." Ashwini realized she made a win!
This was the time Gunjan got somewhat baffled "What me?"
"Yes you! If you do that I m in ..sure.. Ok sweety ... bye .. muwah" she argued, eyed at Samrat for once with a wicked smile and left the place.
Gunjan made up her mind since she wanted Ashwini to participate and if Samrat is a good guitar player then why not. She at once stood up and went to Samrat who was actually running behind Ash. Samrat looked at Gunjan and felt disgusted as if he lost something bcos of her. Thankfully, for him, his friends had gone away.
"Hi" she said very sweetly. He looked at her and turned to sit on his table and eating his sandwich as if sandwich was such an important thing.
"Are you participating in the Talent Parade" she asked him with her sweet voice.
He looked at her as if angry for something and just said "N-O-O"
But the girl did not give up easily. "Why not? Dont u know Excel will get funds for the event?"
Gunjan had not spoken enough, but Samrat was worried if someone wud see him with her and he got irritated "Cant you see i m busy. If this is your idea of a new conversation then i m not interested." He screamed but she was too good to get hurt.
"Alright no problem. You can continue with your sandwich. But think about it. I have also tried to convince Ashwini for the Talent Parade and she will hopefully participate." she went.
This made Samrat think once again about participating. But it did not make any difference in him for how he behaved with Gunjan. Soon as she left, there was an announcement that the college is having a fresher's party after two days and with or without a partner, it is mandatory for all the students. The only person as a partner Samrat cud think was Ashwini. And he thought that the first thing he will do next day is to ask her for the party.
*Next Day*
Now it was Ashwini's turn to convince Gunjan."Gunjan u r coming to the party, OK!"
"No Ash, i m busy preparing for the talent parade and what will i do over there"
"Gunjan if you dont go, i wont as well..."
"Ok i will try my best now give me a leave..bye"
As Gunjan left, Samrat came to ask Ashwini as a partner "Hey Ash"
"Hi Sam.. how are you?"
"I am good.. so what r ur plans on this Saturday evening?"
"Umm... nothing much ... just freshers party..."
"Oh wow what a coincidence.... even i m going over there" he joked "Will u like to be my partner?"
"Well i m not interested until and unless u give ur name for TP" she ignored him
"If you dont know, i already did that! Now if you...." he grinned as he was sure there was no escape.
"Ah thats good Sam, but i m sorry. I have already been asked and i told him yes!" she shook his jaw while holding it and smiled.
"Already been asked? Who did that?" Samrat was utterly shocked.
"I did that" a voice came from behind and Samrat turned.
"You! How cud you do that Neil and u claim as being a friend" Samrat felt totally betrayed.
"Hey comeon chillax dude. dont u remember the last yr u betrayed me. and i challenged u i wud do that to u next year. we took that as a friendly challenge... so chill..." Neil and Ashwini laughed silently and went away together.
Samrat felt betrayed by both of them. He felt Ashwini dumped him. He was dumped by a girl for whom he had feelings. And most important his 2 long years friend Neil. If it wud have not been for Neil, Ashwini wud have been with him in the party. Neil knew how he wished to have Ashwini in his life and whatever happened last year was not at all serious. It cud never be compared to what is happening today. But there was nothing Samrat cud do, as for him he was rejected by the person he liked. On the above, he took part in the TP just bcos of Ashwini who seemed to be less interested in him!
Samrat let go off this for a while and thought how he wud go to the party or shud he just not go. But then that wud make him a loser which wud leave a mark on his image. But with whom will he go. He finally got a job, a job to find a new partner!
NOTES: guys will update the next part prolly tomorrow if i get few feedbacks. while writing this part i was so confused as to make ashwini samrats date or no... then i finally decided not to.....
