this is not exctly a recent interview..
this was when she had not joined mjht-

Q: How is your journey with 'Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai' so far?
A: It has been full of ups and downs. Initially, when I took up the show I was really excited and scared that with the three girls in the lead I might not get the due recognition. One thing I liked was that my role was quite positive as compared to the other two. But suddenly my role started to fade. We realized that there was no major content in the story and my character was not at all justified. I don't know why I was roaming around the Kapoor family.

Q: Does that mean that you are not happy with your role?
A: Now I am really happy with my track. I spoke to my production people and they made an effort to reshape my character

Q: During that period you must have thought of leaving the program?
A: To be honest, I thought of leaving because I was really pissed off. As a performer I wanted to do something and not just stand at one place and console everyone.

Q: You once said that unlike Prarthna, you don't believe in arranged marriages. So does that mean that you are committed to someone?
A: No, I am not at all committed to anyone. In fact, I want to be committed. Right now I am committed to my work, but that does not mean that I am not looking forward to someone.

Q: With whom you get along very well on the sets?
A: I almost get along well with everyone. Vinit, Yash, Meghna and I are very good friends, while Naasir is my rakhi brother. I have known him for two years.

Q: Name one similarity between Prarthna and Rati.
A: Both are family persons. Like Prarthna, I really care for my family. But yes, unlike her I don't believe in joint families.

Q: Were you always interested in acting?
A: Basically I am artistic by nature. I was always passionate about music and art. I think somehow there was some hidden talent in me which came out afterwards.

Q: You have done couple of films in the south. What difference you find between the two industries?
A: Down south they are very professional. I used to get up by 4 in the morning for the shooting. Also they are very technically sound. There is more of stardom in the television industry, artists don't have dates and are really busy. But film stars are very down to earth and humble, much unlike the television actors.

Q: How do you spend your free time?
A: I hang out with my friends and listen to music. I love going to karaoke clubs.

Q: Where do you hail from originally?
A-I am from Patna, but later we shifted to Delhi where I did my college.

Q: So that must be very difficult for you to cope up with the sudden change from Delhi to Mumbai?
A: Yes, it was. I was totally a nomad in Mumbai. But I was lucky I had a friend who helped me in settling down here. Later, I called my mom here. She had to suffer with me.

Q: Are you planning to take up some more projects in the near future?
A: I definitely want to work more if good roles come. But yes, I am very choosy when it comes to roles, I am open to Bollywood even, provided good banners and substantial roles come on my way.

Q: Are you not afraid of getting type cast in the image of Prarthna, who is sweet, innocent and a homely girl?
A: I am really afraid of being type cast and that is why I always experiment with my looks. Also I lost a lot of weight now. Initially I used to look like a bhabhi. My main aim is to show to audience that I am a versatile actor.

Q: What is the best complement that you ever got from any of your fans?
A: I am still waiting for the best one, but it has to be from my parents' side. Otherwise everyone appreciates about my acting.

Q: What can the audience expect in future from this serial?
A: I don't know what they should expect. But one thing is for sure that Prarthna's character is going to have a change. She will stand up for herself and teach lessons to those who have made her suffer.

Q: What is the best thing about being a celebrity?
A: Since my childhood I wanted to be a celebrity (laughs). On a serious note, the best thing is that everyone can watch you across the world. Wherever I go, people recognize me.

Q: Who are your favorite Bollywood actresses and actors?
A: Kareena Kapoor and Salman Khan. I have met Salman a couple of days ago.

Q: Tell us about one incident on the sets of 'Har ghar kuch kehta hai' that you will never forget?
A: I will never forget when Amrita got conjunctivitis and she spread it among all the unit members. Two days later even I got it and on the third day Meghna. The best thing was when there was one scene where everyone had swollen red eyes.

Q: What are you after right now -- marriage or money?
A: Both, but the guy should be from Mumbai and should understand me. He should respect my career.
