Ruhaan used to love Suhana but thought she died, so he marries Simran but on his wedding day he finds out Suhana is alive but later finds out Suhana has married someone else so he deciides to start afresh with Simran. Ruhaan's Chachi and brotheri n law try seperating Ruhaan and Simran so they can have all the property, they try but fail, Simran and Inder's wife Arpita find out Inder and Ruhaans chachi are evil and foil their plans. Ruhaan and Simran fall in love and consumate their marriage but then Suhana returns, she believes Ruhaan is her husband, she's met Simran and has become a close friend of hers but is yet to meet Ruhaan.

earlier she was shown to be married to that other guy, but she had another accident in which she lost her memory and found that she only had a mangal sutar and a pic of ruhaan with her, so she assumed ruhaan was her husband
