Kratika Sengar bags female lead opposite Ssharad
Kratika Sengar has been finalized as the female lead opposite Ssharad Malhotraa in the upcoming show Kasam.
The show will replace Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi by the end of this month. Soumya Seth and Yuvika Choudhary were also being considered opposite Ssharad, and Yuvika was almost finalized, but then the makers zeroed in on Kratika. She told us, "I wasn't even in Mumbai when I got a call for this show. I got a call at 10pm while I was in Kanpur and they asked me to send a video. I sent them a video and then they asked me to come for the mock shoot, which I did, and then I started shooting. Everything was finalized within two-three days."
Kratika will be playing a Punjabi girl in the show. "This is the first time I will be playing a Punjabi character. Since I married into a Punjabi family, I've picked up some things about Punjabi culture," she added. Kratika was last seen in Servicewali Bahu, which went off air within a few months of its launch owing to low ratings. "What I was narrated was completely different from what was shown on screen. They stuck to the storyline for a few episodes and then they changed it. I had a word with the makers, but even then I could see that the show was going to end," she told us.
