I clearly object against this post.

May I kindly request the topic maker to edit his or her post and remove the following paragraph:

"There is misunderstanding amongst many people that Muharram is a mourning month while it holds its own unique importance since the beginning of time as described above. There is also a misunderstanding that Muharram's importance is only due to the sad incident of Karbla which took place on 10th Muharram in 61 Hijery."

Muharram, in all significance is known as a mourning month in Islam because the Holy Prophet (PBUH)'s grandson sacrificed his life in order to save the religion of Islam. There is no where written in the Quran that a person is not allowed to mourn for more than three days.

Yes, there are differences between the opinions of Shi'a Muslims and Sunni Muslims. But you cannot make a post and decide for everyone as to what happens. If nothing else, you could have at least left a footer saying that the opinion of Muslims from other sectors may vary from yours.

I request for an immediate change to this post as soon as is possible. It is quite offensive to allow just a one-sided post on the view of Muharram.

Let me clear onething,
my father told me once that we don't cry coz Imam Hussain (A.S) was Martyred (Shaheed) in the cruellest way possible but because he was helpless (Mazloom).
That's why shia calls him Mazloom-e-Qarbla not Shaheed-e-Qarbla when they mourn.
and there is no such thing like Shia muslims or sunni muslims. We all are just Muslims. again I would quote my father he said, " Being Muslim is religious choice but being shia or sunni is not religious it's cultural."
I hope I was able to present my point in understandable way without offending anyone.😊
