The govt. Is running away frm their responsibility. When Home minister was as to why the protestors werent addressed,he says they cnt,as tomorrow maoists wil come!W*T!protestors are for genuine cause..they are the youth fighting for rights of women, how cn they belittle such huge uproar,

Just by stating,I to have daughters wont solve the issues. We want action.

World becomes bad if the people in it want it to be bad ,isn't it ? Hum sab ek doosare ke saath ache se rahthe tho duniya achi lagegi . kisi aur desh me dhust log hote hi nahi, yeh sachaayi nahi hai. Every country has its own crime pbms. Inspite of US police prompt action there are incidents like the school shootout happening time and again.
And though thru media, many are getting an idea that India is a country with dirty men, let me tell u majority of men are not like that. These kind of deformed minds exists in men , women too. But normal people outnumber these deformed minds. There are millions of men who are good just like my father, brother, husband etc

This was horrifying just to read, and I don't want to imagine how horrifying in real. I don't understand how people could become so sick as to do this to a fellow human being.

We should bear on mind that India is by far more complex and difficult country to rule when compared to US due to it's complex mixture of races and religions as well as the huge population, thus resulted poverty and unliterate people...
It's very difficult to manage such countries, only it's people when they help each other issues can be solved...

Since You all are anyways discussing this,
Can I question each one of you?

[NOTE : I may not have an opinion similar to yours, so please dont get offended]

Do you think that the way a girl dresses up is also a cause for all this?

=)

well girls wearing salwars or sarees are raped as much as women in western clothes..and 3 yr olds are being raped rampantly..the dress which the girls wear are of no consequence..and secondly, what she decides to wear is entirely HER business..and its hypocrytical to say tht "the girl must be a tease, coz she wears these clothes"..EVEN if she wears clothes tht MIGHT seem revealing, its not ASKING to get raped like our amazingly logical political and religious gurus proclaim...

I noticed some saying they r proud to live in UK or US... but is this something can make a person proud?!!

First US is among the highest countries in terms of murder crimes, the worst type of crimes... and UK is not really far from this... check stats of such categories...
Second and most important, people are here to discuss, share thoughts, compasion, and look for solutions... not to compare who is luckiest by living in the safest place...
I believe most who wrote here from UK or US r originally from India or neighborhood... so maybe those people r enjyoing a safer life but what about their relatives... Same people has more relatives and bonds in India than their recent residence...
U can be an NRI who contributes nothing to his real people or an NRI who positively contribute... I believe this what can make a person proud or not... running from issues in ur country by living in somewhere else is nothing to be proud of... but keep fighting these issues for the sake of ur people and children is the thing that deserves the word proud...
Let's be frank, we r living in other countries than our origin and we r not safe from facing race issues any time... who assures those countries will let us and our children live till infinity safely in thier homes?... your origin is ur real home so it is always better to work on improving it rather than running from it...
Sorry if I sound a bit rude but I had to clear that fighting and facing ur own issues more than running away from them is what makes a person proud..

@^^
i agree with u , i am also living in uk, but the crimes even more serious happen here too and all over the world. and not once did i think i was lucky to be livig bcause some people think we who live abroad are out of harms way. no place in this world is safe from some twisted monsters.
also in westeren world they won't even consider death penelty as punishment.
the thing is no matter what punishment the abused will be suffering all the time after such crime, yes there should be a harsh punishment to deter such crimes , but the thing should be all human should treat each other with respect , even most animals do not mate without the consent of the female,
it's mostly human that rape. how disgusting for a parent to see their childern have to suffer such atrocities,
be i in india or anywhere else this crime has to stop .it's a fundamental human right.
NO MEANS NO.DON'T TOUCH .DON'T LOOK. STAY AWAY.
needs to be taught and learned by all .

i was watching the news a few mintues ago and was shocked to hear the home minister comparing the protesters to the maoist. for gods sake they are college students women and housewife who have take to the streets to demand their security.
the govt should be ashamed that it has esclated to this extent that people are demanding their saftey instead of using blame game.

Off course it doesn't mean that we are saying the girl in such dresses should be treated badly or should be raped but the point is this "we should have proper dressing too" in order to avoid such issues. Practically the girls having proper dress are not teased or less teased than the girls in revealing dresses. NO OFFENSE to any one. I highly condemn for rapping any single girl despite the dressing but still my point of view is this that girls must also care for dressing while going outside.
