So Pallu had a violent interaction with a molester in her past, maybe even related to her best friend Devyani. The original Mandar saves her, and they decide to marry - because, well, original Mandar was a gentleman and he needed to marry one day anyway!
The molester kidnaps original Mandar from the hospital after his accident and kills him some 25 kms away and since then, has been surgically modifying his face to look like original Mandar.
Now that his transformation is complete, he finds his victim Pallavi with his new face he’s trying to make her his.
