Lovely episode yesterday, it felt a bit rushed sometimes , would have liked some pauses and longer sequences but I guess they have lot of content to cover so its okay...loved the scenes. Please enjoy this perspective .
So the ice between Raghvi is broken with Pallavi offering honey laden ice, ice melting in Raghav, and falling as water into Pallavis hand . This whole sequence while romantic and yes full of goosebumps, has other meaning for thier relationship. Till before marraige Raghav was fire and Pallavi ,water. After the forced wedding Pallavi froze...she stopped flowing, stopped living . She lost her life force. She became ice and numb. Unable to feel anything because if she tried to feel, all she felt was anguish and pain. She cannot feel anything for this new marraige without dealing with the anguish she has of her trauma, her separation from her pillar of support in life , her Aai Baba. Night before when Raghav asked her if she thought about the Pati ( so much expectation so soon my boy )and the future of her marraige , she didn't have anything to say ..not even a no. Because she was so numb still. She froze again, that's what she knew to do.
Today , she added mirchi in food for Raghav.She actually added fuel to his anger, flame and fire . But instead of flaring up, and burning her, he chose to take it, accept it. For the first time Raghav has tamed his anger, his sense of getting back at anyone who hurts him. He made a choice that he would let her add the fuel and hurt him, without rebuke from him , only for her because he has goals with her by end of month , because he knows he needs to change for her, and because he felt she was justified in her irritation with him . He made a caveat in his rulebook just for her...not just because she is family now or his Patni and all that. But because ethically he believed his anger had something to do with the explosion in morning with VD, and he was willing to take punishment if its coming from Pallavi. Thats a big change for Raghav , for a man who is impulsive and explosive.
And he burns with the mirchi, the fire engulfing him but he does not complain to anyone, rather covers up for Pallavi because he knows the cause of her actions. Its between them. He never told Amma about what happens at Deshmukh house, so he doesn't tell Amma about the after effects through Pallavi. This is a new principled committed man emerging , which Pallavi realizes with thier conversation after.
Once Pallavi realizes what she has done and that he is suffering with the fire, and no help available, she immediately takes charge. She needs to stop his suffering, right now. At this point she doesn't know why he argued with her father or why he ate the food. The only thing in her mind, stop his suffering and bring some relief. She asks for some ice and starts feeding him honey. But on her face is guilt and ..what was that..pain for him? And that's what soothes Raghavs mind more than the honey. That she cannot see him in this suffering and is trying to soothe him, with her care, and what was that again..sense of responsibility and right with him :). In one swift minute she assumed the role of his wife , caring and soothing, forgetting everyone. This was what made Raghav eat the honey.
Now for the ice that came , she laced it with honey, a sweetener and fed him the ice. As he eats morsel by morsel, the ice queen melts. Pallavi melts in this event without even realizing that she is warming upto him. The ice he is eating from her right hand melts and she is left with water in her left hand...awesome ! Water left after he has absorbed the ice. And when he holds her hand!. He is healing on one end, his suffering reduced , and she is also unknowingly healing, Pallavi starts flowing again , starts unfreezing. By the time he is better, she is not numb anymore. The old Pallavi she was before the wedding is back. She will not be numb to Raghav anymore.
Both had a major shift today...he will never burn her or hurt her and she will never freeze to him. It was a beautifully executed scene , on the surface a wife talking care of the husband but such a soul connection underneath.
And because Pallavi has become water from ice now, she was able to freely understand and express to Raghav. She asked him the why..and understood how he allowed himself to be punished to let her feel good. But she didn't feel good..and offered advise on how to handle her father , as if now she is together in this with him. They started talking like a couple now, its a major ice breaker and healing event in thier relationship.
And because Pallavi has now returned to her old water form , not frozen anymore, she didn't stop herself from caring for him, soothing him to sleep, letting him have the much needed rest . She is still not in love and needn't be but she has returned to the caring old self who will go over and beyond for all her relationships in life. Now Raghav is included in it and how! He knows now to control the fire and anger and be the warm loving protective light in her life without hurting her .And she will flow to him, engulf him in her care and affection that he always needed.
