Diwakar Pundir

A scorpion by birth; a pilot by profession; a model and an actor by choice, meet Diwakar Pundit of Meerut, the gorgeous Grasim Mr. India Face for the Year 1998. Son to an Army brigadier, he never thought that he would become one of the most sought after models in the country. Instead he grew up to be an accomplished pilot.
Modelling, however, changed his life and made it virtually impossible for him to sustain his profession as a pilot. Post Grasim Mr. India, he shifted base to Mumbai to chase his dream to become a model and later, an actor. Today, at 30, and just six years in glamour world, his growth has been sky rocketing. The first break he got was Sonu Nigam's Ab Mujhe Raat Din. And he has not looked back since then. He featured in more music videos by noted singers including Asha Bhonsle, Abhijeet and Hans Raj Hans. Then Bollywood beckoned. He did two Mahesh Manjarekar films - Pyar Kiya Nahi Jaata and It Rained That Night while others like Butterful Chase and Do Aur Do Paanch followed.
"Most of these films are yet to be released barring Pehchan and my latest, The King of Bollywood," reveals Diwakar, who has also made debut on the small screen in Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki for Star Plus. This was followed by Raeet on Zee. At present he is presently anchoring the show called Crime Control on Sony.
Married to a costume designer Anu, they have a baby girl and "but would like another healthy baby," he says.
With veterans Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Om Puri and Nasseruddin Shah as his favourites, Diwakar hopes to build up on his stint as an actor to that extent one day.
"I want to accomplish a lot for I have hardly achieved anything worthwhile till now. It's only the beginning!" says the actor, who aspires to direct a film one day.
