First of all, it was absolutely shocking to me that the show makers even considered showing one of the main male leads to be a gay character. I've seen posts from viewers where many of them are unhappy that Gaurav will be shown as a gay character. Nonetheless, the makers are taking a bold risk for which they deserve a ton of credit. I'm afraid that they may get a lot of negative feedback from social organizations and the general public for this.
Secondly, believe me or not, this is something that is the actualy reality at least in a society like India where homosexuality is a big taboo and almost a crime. How sad is that? In most cases, one doesn't have control of being a homosexual unless of course one is experimenting.
I grew up in India and have in the US for several years now. It really is shocking to see how it is almost impossible for a vast majority of gay males to "come out" in Indian society for fear of getting shunned by their family and society. Homosexuals are also human beings.
Lastly, its good that they are going to show the relationship between the two guys to be more on an emotional level than a physical one (as per gaurav's interview). I hope the general public in India who watches this serial shows some tolerance for it and try to understand the dilemma's and confusions gaurav's character is going through.
Finally, I wish I could watch this serial. Unfortunately, the area in which I live in the US doesn't get star plus.
