They say 'marriages are made in heaven' really? Are all couples perfect? Marriages are not made in heaven; they are some ugly fact of our life. Some are perfect, some we can't even imagine together. And my marriage was definitely not made in heaven. It was one ugly truth of my life, a truth which I could never forget. I never imagined my life like this.
Like every other ordinary girl, even I had some dreams, dreams of my 'perfect' guy, coming on a white horse for me, filling my forehead with the sindoor. All this did happen, but' was it how I imagined? Was he how I imagined and wanted my perfect guy to be? No! All that was not what I wanted, it was just one ugly truth which I never expected. He did what he wanted; he didn't even bothered asking if I was ready for all that. He did what he wanted, 1 year ago and on the second last holi.
For my medical studies I moved to Mumbai and lived in a girl's hostel, where my family was in Agra. I never imagined my life without my father, Chinu and Riya, my childhood friend and Chinu's wife. And then I came to Mumbai, the dream city, city that fulfills everyone's dreams. Huh! Fulfills everyone's dreams? After moving to Mumbai, I met some amazing people like Vidya, Gaurav, Karan, Nupur and Mayank. They were not just my classmates but also became my close friends, but Nupur, she is my best friend! She was always there when I needed her; if I had a problem then I knew who to share it with. She is one person I can trust with my closed eyes. I could never say 'no' to her.
And then Karan, I still remember how he was always there to help me, even before I tell anyone. Everyone in the group always use to tease us by calling us 'couple' but he was just a friend to me. Nupur always use to tell me about how she taught Karan does actually love me but I always ignored her with a laugh. But when on Valentine's Day he proposed me infront of everyone, I didn't like it as I always took him as a friend, and I can never give anyone false hopes so I rejected his proposal. It hurted me alot because I never wanted to hurt anyone. And I know it hurted him too. Honestly after that night I thought Karan would never talk to me but next day when he saw me sad, he walked up to me and said, "I'm sorry Priya for walking away last night. I was really hurt because I thought even you feel same for me but seems like I was wrong. But just because you don't love me and I love you, it doesn't mean we still can't be friends." When he said this, I just felt a relief as honestly I didn't know how to face him but how can I forget he was Karan, someone who can't stay without talking to me or any of his friends for long. "So let's just start everything with a new start and erase everything that happened last night" he continued, what else did I wanted? I just couldn't stop my smile and hugged him saying, "OMG Karan thanks a lot! Seriously I felt really bad, because you are one of my closest friends and I never wanted to lose you. You' You just so special and '. Thanks a lot Karan." He hugged me back "it's' its fine Priya, I just don't want to lose you" he said, when he hugged me back I felt his tear drops, he sounded really sad, but I didn't say anything as I knew he was really hurt but doesn't want to show his pain to me. "But Priya it doesn't mean I don't love you, I love you and will always will and if the fate wants then you will love me too" he said with a laugh, "hahahaha let see if you are that lucky" I replied. "Kay let's go to canteen, Nupur said she wants to announce something" I said and we walked towards canteen.
When me and Karan reached in the canteen, everyone was surprised to see us together, well I can understand as all of them were there yesterday when Karan Proposed me. "Hmm you both' together?" asked Mayank, "Dude we still friends so don't be surprised" Karan replied with a laugh. "Anyways Nupur, What was it that you wanted to announce?" I asked, "Oh seeing you both together I completely forgot about it! Anyways after 2 days it's my mom and dad's 25th Wedding anniversary so I want all of you to join us. So you all better be there." Said Nupur. "You say and we don't come? That is impossible. We will sure be there." Said Mayank. "Thanks Mayank. And Priya you have to help me with decoration so you coming home with me so we can plan everything." "But Nupur, how will I stay in your home? Hmmm how about I'll come and help you and go back to hostel?" "huh Hello madam you are my best friend and you know I'm not expecting a 'NO' in reply from you so after collage we'll go to your hostel and take your stuff and leave" she said, I just couldn't say no to her, as no one could win with that girl. "And Oye this doesn't mean I'm going to leave you guys! I'm taking Priya home as she lives in hostel and I want my best friend with me, but you guys have to be at my house tomorrow early in the morning to help! You guys better don't be late." Nupur Ordered. "Okay Teacher!" they all shouted with a laugh.
It was the day. In just few hours the party was just going to start. The best and the cute part was that Nupur's parents didn't know anything about the party as Nupur sent her parents away from the house for 2 days to her aunt's house by saying that her aunt was really sick and was expecting her sister and brother in law there. The whole party hall was looking great thanks to all of us. As the time was coming closer, Nupur was like going crazy "OMG only 2 hours left for mom and dad to arrive and we not even ready! Mayank check the food court again, Karan where is the cake? And' OMG Priya there is NOTHING on the door! Please do something! OMG I'm so stressed'" she shouted. "Food court is done! Everything is perfect!" replied Mayank, "it's an Ice Cream Cake so I'm going now to get it. So nupur Chill! We'll be done" continued Karan. Seeing Nupur stress like this just made us laugh as she was stressing for no reason, as we were almost done. "Nupur chill! I'll do something there and anyways before you told me, I was just going to do something. Mayank pass me the red and black cloth, I'll put it on the welcome door." I asked for the red and black cloth as the theme of the party was red and black. I grabbed the stuff and walked towards the entrance door. I stood on the stool, I started with one side. Everything was done and when I decided to come down but the stool was shaking alot and it was getting really uncontrolled. I lost my control and my leg slipped and I fall. "Priyaaa!" I heard Karan's shout. I shut my eyes as I was really scared but it felt like someone was holding me, someone holding me so tight like don't want to let me go. That embrace was so tight like that it looked like not only I was scared but that the person who was holding me was scared too. I taught it was Karan because that hold was like that person would never want to let go of me. But at the same that touch was disgusting me, the way the person was holding and touching me was really sick and I knew it can't be Karan, so I decided to open my eyes slowly to see who it was. I slowly opened my eyes and saw a complete new face, by seeing him I knew not only his touch was lusty but his eyes were full of lust. It was just disgusting me even more, I just wanted to shout at him to let go off me. I know he saved me from falling but after his lusty touch I would prefer landing on the floor then being in his arms. I wanted to shout at him but he let me go before I said anything but he just didn't take his eyes off me. At this time I was feeling so uncomfortable.
"Priya! Are you alright? And' Aditya?" Said Nupur, seems like she knew who he was and I didn't wanted to hurt her by shouting at him. "When did you come back from London?" she continued. She noticed he was not even listening to her until she shook him and bought him back to his sense and first thing he said was "Are' Are you alright?" while looking at me. I was honestly not interested in replying him but just to finish this awkward moment I said "I' I'm alright' Thanks" and looked away. "Anyways Adi I asked you something, when did you back to India?" nupur repeated her question but seems like Nupur was not happy seeing him. "Sis! Sis! So many questions! And' Wow this place looks beautiful! And seems like you completely forgot to invite me so I'm here by myself and'" he said, "And'?" Nupur asked. "And would you mind introducing me with your friends?" he said while looking at me. Every time he looked at me, it made me really uncomfortable. "Oh' I'm sorry!" said Nupur and introduced all of us to him one by one "And this is Priya'" "Oh' Priya" he said again just looking at me and he forwarded his hand to say 'hey' I felt really awkward shaking hands to him but I had to. I just wanted to go away from this place and especially him so I said "Kay Guys 1 hour left until they will come so I think we should just go and get ready" "Oh Yes..." Nupur continued and walked away and Mayank too walked away. They all left but this guy he was just there! But seems like Karan knew I do not like this person and seems like he was not impressed by him too. "Hmm' Priya why don't you too go and get ready and we'll meet when the party will start" He said and I just smiled and started to walk away until Aditya shouted from behind, "Yes Priya will see you in the party" with his lusty looks. I didn't even reply to him and walked away.
It was time! Everyone got ready came down. Actually I was kind of late so I was not there when uncle and aunty came. When I came down I went to Mayank and Karan who were standing at one corner and laughing "Wow Priya you look good huh!" Said Mayank with a wink, "P' Priya' you look gorgeous as usual" Said karan with a smile, "awww thanks guys" I felt nice when Karan complimented me! I mean I don't know but I like it when he smiled to me. "Anyways Where is Nupur?" I asked until I saw her shouting at the waiters and we walked towards her with a laugh. "Nupur chill enjoy the party man! Everything is fine and will continue being nice so chill" said Karan. We continued teasing nupur until someone decided to join us and ruin my mood. But I noticed it was not just me but Nupur herself and Karan too didn't like Aditya. "Drink?" he offered a glass of drink to me, I was really hesitating taking the drink but as usual Karan was there to help me out of this awkward situation "Hmmm thanks a lot for this drink! I was anyways thinking to get a drink but you did it! Thanks" and he took the drink from his hand, Aditya clearly did not like it but he just gave a smile.
The party continued! We all were having a great time. I always have a great time when I'm with nupur, Mayank and Karan, but we were really missing Vidya and Gaurav this time. But they were having their own fun in Goa. Seems like someone finally entered in my life to ruin every fun moment in my life "Nupur and others if you guys don't mind' can I have your friend for a minute?" Aditya said while looking at me, "what?" asked nupur. "I mean if you don't mind May we dance?" he offered me to dance. I hesitated a lot as I was clearly not interested in that dude, every time I see him I feel disgusted. But I didn't want to ruin the party mood so I just went to dance with him.
We went on the dance floor, I was really hesitating and I'm sure he realized it that I'm clearly not interested in him so why is he doing all this? He offered me to dance but I pretended not to notice him but seems like this annoyed him and he just grabbed me from my hips and just pulled me towards him. At this time I was fuming, I mean how he dare touch me like this. I tried really hard taking me away from him but he was holding me so tight and was forcing me dancing with him. Only if was not holding my hands so tight I would have slapped him there. His touch was disgusting me! I just wanted to push him away from me. As usual Karan was there for me, he knew I was really uncomfortable with him, "Hmm if YOU don't mind now can I have my friend back as seeing you guys dance! I feel like dancing with her now" Karan said, I felt really nice because I just wanted to go away from him, but I noticed aditya's face too, he was clearly not happy of Karan coming in between. I wanted to go away from him so quickly I said "Sure Karan why not! I'm sure Aditya won't mind, will you?" I asked Aditya with a sarcastic smile. "Sure' Sure Why not" he said with a force smile.
Aditya walked away leaving me and Karan alone. "Karan thanks a lot" I said, "Priya I know you since 2 years now and it's nothing like that I like you and I don't want any one that close to you but as a friend I know who you don't want to be with" he said while we continued dancing. As we continued dancing, my eyes landed on the drinks area where Aditya just kept drinking and his eyes were just on us. His eyes were fuming red. "Priya ignore him! Do not look at him" Karan advised me. "he is just so different I mean I doubt if he is actually Nupur's cousin or related to her in any way as he is '" I continued, "Priya honestly there is something really weird in him honestly I don't want to ruin my mood talk about him so at this moment let me enjoy myself dancing with you" he continued with a laugh. I tried really hard not to think about that guy but I knew he kept looking at me the whole time. This made me really uncomfortable that time and even more when I so Aditya coming towards us with his drink. He came closer to us and pretended slipping and threw the drink on my dress. "Oh'I'm'I'm so sorry Priya' I didn't mean to'" He said. I knew he threw it by purpose but I didn't want to create a scene, "It's ' its fine! Karan I'll go clean this and come" I walked away.
I was really pissed at this time I mean I clearly didn't understand what he wants from me, he acted like he owns me and I belong to me but well I was clearly NOT interested in him. I went in Nupur's room to change my dress, as I entered in the room someone entered with me in the room and locked the room and when I turned around to see who it was. "Aditya OPEN THE DOOR NOW! Seriously enough is enough! Whatever you did downstairs on the dance floor and then after it, I seriously didn't like it! Dude I don't even know you and' you know what I'm not even interested in knowing you so leave me alone!" "Just shut up Priya! Shut it! You're smart enough and I'm sure you clearly understood that I'm in love with you'" he said but I interrupted him, "LOVE? Excuse me! This is not LOVE Aditya! We just met today' so do not name your 'Lust' as 'Love''" while I said this, he pushed me towards the wall and came closer to me, "Enough you said what you wanted! If you think this is 'Lust' Well I don't care let it be! Once if I want something, I get it by hook or by crook! And now it's you Priya!! I don't like seeing anyone with you other than me! I know very well how to get you! So do not force me do anything that you won't like! And' who is that' Yes Karan! STAY AWAY FROM HIM!" "Enough! I'm NOT your personal property Aditya that you can treat me like your puppet! I'm quite and respecting you and ignoring everything you doing to me, not because I'm weak but you are related to my Best friend and I don't want to hurt her because of you!" I shouted and pushed him away and tried to walk away until he pulled me towards him again and held my hips tight, this touch just outraged me and only thing I did was slap him so hard and say "dare touch me again Aditya and you'll see!" and tried walking away again and that loser pulled me towards him again, "You don't know what you put yourself in Priya! I'm not going to forget this slap and I WILL make sure you don't forget this slap too!" and he walked away. I was really scared after this and was thinking if I should let Nupur and Karan know about it! Karan might do something but Nupur' Will she believe me or her cousin, so I didn't wanted to take any risk and lose my best friend so I decided to keep all this to me. Was this the right decision?
