Well, the kisses, "sweetheart," and the remark about a kiss from Phadake were totally misleading. Forget about diversity! The flashback resolved the marriage proposal with the most overused contrivance of Indian entertainment: Arjun doesn't have to reject Sneha because Sneha already has a boyfriend whom she plans to marry.

In the flashback, Sneha said that she wanted Savitri to ask Arjun not to say yes until she finds the right moment to tell her parents no. And Savitri replied that she would tell Sneha exactly what to say to Arjun. What Sneha said to Arjun was, relax, I won't marry you ... don't be tense, relax, you don't have to apologize ... Saoo explained everything to me ... don't worry, our alliance won't happen ... don't feel tense about our families because I will handle it ... when you get married, be sure to invite me!

Krishna'i quickly learned that Sneha had said no, without speaking to the Lokhandes (i.e. she found out from Arjun), but Arjun and the audience still don't know what explanation Savitri gave Sneha for Arjun not wanting to marry Sneha. Was this marriage proposal just filler, not creating any pressure for Arjun to marry Savitri?

Krishna'i now says that Arjun has to get married within the next six months. Earlier, she and Vishvambhar had spoken as if the year was running out since Arjun's father's death. Maybe the writers have changed their timeline.

There's a promotion showing Arjun and Savi dancing together at the wedding on Bhāgya Dile Tū Malā. How would their MahāRavivāra crossover fit into the current story on Piratīçā Vanavā Urī Peṭalā?

Once again, Savi couldn't resist insulting Arjun, setting back her effort to seduce him for Vishvambhar. When did Arjun ever boast about being irresistible to women? He only nicknamed Savitri "Miss Vaśilā" because he recognizes networking women like her. There was no need for Savitri to tell Arjun that he deserved to be rejected in the same way he had planned to reject Sneha. Arjun's proposed lie, "I'm taken," is a humbler rejection than "I'm not interested," right? The narcissism that Savi sees in Arjun is a projection of her own failure to fascinate him.

Obviously, Arjun didn't shout at Savitri, "Get out!" because he is suddenly sensitive about the rejection that he had welcomed a moment earlier. Here he is in his workplace, where he came to work, and his employee (to whom he had given the day off) is wasting his time with personal insults. Would any other boss not order her to leave his cabin?

Arjun's reaction to Savi's accusation that he is in love with himself and belittles marriage proposals was interesting. This man, whose blind fury when he loses control is known to everyone from Teju to Vidyadhar to himself, didn't physically remove her after shouting at her to get out. He just sat there with a sad, self-doubting expression on his face, paying attention to every word of Savi's long speech. Together with Arjun muttering "I'm sorry" in his sleep ... his shamefaced and fleeting sidelong glance at Savi when they stood up after slipping onto the bed ... the piteous tone of Arjun's voice when he said he didn't want to stay in the lodge room with Savi, and bolted out ... and Arjun being on the verge of tears at the thought of getting married ... this is one more clue that Arjun feels guilty about a past transgression.

It was nice to see and hear Savi's doubt when she witnessed Arjun being indulgent with Priya, and Vidyadhar competing with Priya to fast for Arjun's welfare. Personally, I value toothbrushing after a meal more than before, but on Indian TV, the characters always seem to begin their day with toothbrushing, as if they went to bed with food residue in their mouths. Anyway, the evidence that Arjun isn't a greedy tyrant to his half-siblings is starting to pile up before Savi. She knows that Priya still goes to college (evidence: Arjun sponsored her College Fest and postponed it to next week), although Arjun never relented on screen. Whereas Siddhi on Jīva Zhālā Yeḍāpisā had a montage of flashbacks as she realized all at once that her enemy was a compassionate human being, Savi is already asking aloud whether Arjun is a decent person when she's not watching him.

Arjun's conversation with Krishna'i informed us that his mother's name was Bhima'i. I wonder whose idea it was to name the house Bhimā (Bhīmā) Sadana after her - Bhalachandra's? Could it have been Arjun's idea, in spite of his regard for Krishna'i? Was it Krishna'i's own idea?

How did Bhima'i die? From Arjun's memory that everyone was crying and telling him to cry, and he couldn't (he was in shock), I got the impression that she died unexpectedly. Foul play by Vishvambhar, maybe?

Arjun and Savi appeared without any introduction in the last 3 to 4 minutes of the MahāRavivāra episode of Bhāgya Dile Tū Malā, and on Monday's episode.

After the vamp got slapped and tossed out, and the varamālā ceremony resumed, Arjun dashed in to lift the groom, Raj, out of reach of the bride, Kaveri. Raj was pleasantly surprised and greeted Arjun by name. Then Savi came forward to lift the bride, declaring that she could do this too, and women shouldn't be underestimated. Arjun's mirthful face fell as he recognized Savi.

Chetan Saindane, the dialogue writer for Bhāgya Dile Tū Malā, is probably too busy to watch Piratīçā Vanavā Urī Peṭalā, and maybe no one helped him out to write lines that make sense for the conflict between Arjun and Savi. Just the other day, Arjun reminded Savi that she didn't need him to rescue her from Ashiqya. Why would Savi feel the need to open Arjun's mind regarding women's capability?

On Bhāgya Dile Tū Malā's Monday episode, as Savi was unsmilingly studying the rukhavata and sipping her drink, Arjun approached her and demanded, "What are you doing here?" Savi had the same question for him. Arjun explained that he and Raj studied abroad together, and Raj's business gets all of its sugar from Kawathekar Industries. Savi said that she had adorned the bride. Allowing Arjun to know this, she took the risk that he would remember Sapna, but Savi did not seem nervous.

Arjun and Savi stayed out of sight for the rest of the episode. When Kaveri needed a volunteer to play the role of her brother and twist Raj's ear, I thought, Arjun adopts sisters everywhere ... but no.

Piratīçā Vanavā Urī Peṭalā's Monday episode began with Savi still talking to Çamaki. Then Savi went to the hotel where Dipu Māmā planned to convince Mother Māulī that Savi was actually in Rajasthan. It seems to be a hotel of ill repute, since Balaram books it on the 25th of the month and Dipu was able to book a room for just two hours. Arjun happened to park his car outside, and saw Savi affectionately touching her accomplice. (Dipu called him Naresh, but Savi called him Dharesh.) Arjun conjectured that "this" was Savi's reason for moving to Kawathe-Bhairavgad. Although Savi had said to herself, Miss Vaśilā back on duty, as she left the hotel, it was already dark when Savi returned to Bhīmā Sadana. Arjun made suggestive comments and told her not to come and go from his house for private business at night, as she was his responsibility. When Savi said, good night, sweet dreams, Arjun retorted that she should say it to her boyfriend, and demanded to know his name.

The Arjun-Savi scenes on both shows shared no continuity.

Vidyadhar's quotation of a subhāṣita to chide Nanda reminded me of Siddhi and Nandakumar doing the same on Jīva Zhālā Yeḍāpisā. The actor made an effort to pronounce the visargas, but missed the places where aḥ becomes o when followed by a voiced consonant. He also kept the ra in nīra as a light syllable when it should have been weighted by the following conjunct consonant kṣ.

The subhāṣita written correctly:

हंसः श्वेतो बकः श्वेतः

को भेदो बकहंसयोः ।

नीरक्षीरविवेके तु

हंसो हंसो बको बकः ।।

haṃsaḥ śveto bakaḥ śvetaḥ

ko bhedo baka-haṃsayoḥ

nīra-kṣīra-viveke tu

haṃso haṃso bako bakaḥ

A swan is white; a crane is white.

What's the distinction between crane and swan?

To discriminate between water and milk

A swan's a swan; a crane's a crane.

The poetic conceit that a swan can separate milk out of a mixture with water is well-known. Piratīçā Vanavā Urī Peṭalā today reminded me of two other places where I had found the same idea.

Savi's and Arjun's crossover continued on Tuesday's episode of Bhāgya Dile Tū Malā. The writers cleverly applied Savi's thieving skills to help Kaveri's sister steal Raj's shoes from his Māmā. After Savi finished flirting and left, Arjun moved in to inform the man that he had been duped.

Arjun and Savi smiled at the shoe-ransoming from opposite sides. When Raj paid Rs. 2000 without haggling, Arjun looked sad. Savi reminded him of her warning not to underestimate women, and declared that wherever Miss Savitri goes, she makes it level. Arjun said nothing.

An entirely different interaction took place on Tuesday's episode of Piratīçā Vanavā Urī Peṭalā. Savi told Arjun that the man with whom he had seen her was Naresh Bagalgote, and Arjun mockingly asked, nareśa of which saṃsthāna? He facetiously sneered that whether Savi takes her boyfriend to a park or a hotel, and what they do in that hotel, is none of his business.

I don't like Arjun's curiosity and commentary about Savi's supposed sexual activity! Is he expressing jealousy without admitting it? Did he study in a part of the U.S.A. where his puritan attitude is prevalent?

Arjun repeatedly sanitizing his hands because he thought Savi's red eyes must be conjunctivitis was funny!

I loved Savi's line: Tyācyā manāta sympathy tayāra karaṇaṃ mhaṇaje nā geṇḍyālā gudgulyā karaṇyāsārakhaṃya!

So, Arjun who couldn't bring himself to say that he needed to urinate thinks it's a joke to say in front of the entire temple committee that Bāḷāsāheba soiled his underwear climbing a hill! Weird.

When Krishna'i said that Arjun was the reason the prize coconut was given to their family salaga itakī varṣaṃ - so many years in a row, I wondered, wasn't Arjun in the U.S.A.? Then Arjun said that Bāḷāsāheba's family had received the honour two years ago, which means that the honour stopped been salaga - in a row - for the Kawathekars, and they've only had it for one year! If Arjun was observing Bāḷāsāheba's underwear two years ago, he must have returned from the U.S.A. before that.

It looks like the community festival will be a turning point in the story, perhaps due to foul play against Arjun through one of the games he has banned. Jīva Zhālā Yeḍāpisā also had a community festival, in which Shiva competed at diving. Compared to a sports event, Arjun simply making the largest donation and receiving the honour is not much tension.

Arjun pronounces English words oddly - he referred to a hotel suite (svīta) as a sūṭa and his premises (premisisa) as prīmāyasisa - but I thought he could speak Marathi properly!

I was surprised when Arjun said "āmacyā gharātalā koṇatāhī vyakti." Doesn't he know that vyakti is a feminine word?

The chronology of Bhairava-Deva-Yātrā changed yet again. If the honour was with Bāḷāsāheba Dhole two years ago, how could Arjun have inherited the coconut last year from Zamkhande Vahinī (whom he called Jamkhande)?

The pūjārī said that the yātrā couldn't begin until the coconut was deposited, but Priya and Arjun said that it couldn't begin until the flag was planted. Whatever the rituals really are, I guess they'll be canon when the yātrā happens.

Arjun should know that driving with the phone in one hand is dangerous even if he's not holding it to his ear! Why not let Savitri hold the phone? Anyway, his quip that he didn't want to cause an accident shows that whatever Savi says to him, he takes to heart.

Arjun should probably get his peripheral vision checked. Even with his head turned to the side, how could he not see Balaram's car heading for a head-on collision? How could he not see the assailant approaching from his side as he ran?

Arjun's compassion for animals as his motivation for banning cockfights is an endearing trait. Thank you, Piratīçā Vanavā Urī Peṭalā, for being a positive influence to your audience.

How could Arjun not be kept in the hospital for observation after bleeding from multiple head injuries? The doctor said that they were waiting for a CT scan report. Only a hospital would have CT equipment and a technician. Yet Krishna'i said that Savitri had brought Arjun home. So, did Arjun with his injuries bounce from the hill to Bhima Sadan, to the hospital, and back to Bhima Sadan?

Vishvambhar's idea to do a brain scan was only sensible, but Arjun arrogantly self-diagnosed that his mental functions are fine. Swelling takes time, and Arjun could have a life-threatening concussion without knowing it! I hope no one in the audience will take away the wrong message.

Savi's idea that she would stage a suicide attempt over Naresh's supposed harassment, and Arjun would feel sympathy, was ridiculous!

In the real world, does anyone want to romance and marry a depressed person? (For anyone reading this who is suicidal, I am not making fun of you. Please tell a psychiatrist what you are experiencing. It isn't your fault; it has a biochemical basis and may be treatable.) Especially in India, where one can be arrested if someone else commits suicide and leaves a note saying "he didn't love me back," (at least, this is how TV portrays it) who would take the risk of becoming the mentally disturbed person's next focus?

Suppose Arjun's reaction to Savi's story is to go after Naresh - is Savi willing to have Naresh arrested or beaten up? She has told Arjun his real name - at least first name. Will finding Naresh lead Arjun to Sharada?

Why is it taking so long for Arjun to figure out that the thieves at Teju's wedding are right in front of him? He knows that Suvarnalata was dancing on stage there, and she is Dipak's daughter ... Irfan "Abdul" was a cook and Dipak is a cook ... Dipak's face is familiar ... Sapna was a beautician and Savitri did Kaveri's makeup in the crossover to Bhāgya Dile Tū Malā!

Will Teju and Dipesh be invited to Arjun's wedding? They may not recognize Savitri as Sapna, but they could recognize Dipak as Irfan, and surely they'll recognize Suvarnalata as Madhuri Nagçore! Does Vishvambhar have a plan to deal with this eventuality?

How is Savitri supposed to marry Arjun without everyone who knew Divakar Çorge being invited? Surely Vidyadhar would tell all of his classmates, and some of them would know that Divakar didn't have a sister named Savitri.

Are the real Divakar and his father actually dead? Will Vishvambhar bring Divakar's real mother to the wedding, or just actors to do kanyādāna?
