Twenty-year jumps are pass. KAMPT fast forwards to 40 years later |

IT was long overdue. Kkabhie Abhi Bhii Mere Paas Thaa (KAMPT) is finally taking a 40-year leap on the forthcoming auspicious Sankrant day. The daily soap (or should I say sob) couldn't delay it any further as Jeete Hain Jiske Liiye (no typos) has already taken a 20-year jump (generation leaps in TV parlance) and Kasautii Zindagi Kay is set to do so on April 30. It wasn't the fear of being labeled copycat but the dreadful report that Mamta's cast refused to age which made them hurry. "Protests like Mamta's can have disastrous effects on the TV industry and should be nipped in the bud. Otherwise we creative people will lose our foolproof magic formula for boosting TRPs," says creative director Navneeta Banerjee of Rajaji Telefilms, producer of KAMPT. |
