Nandini, I've no precise idea about the golden teeth story. May be that is also right. I've heard it but not yet read properly anywhere. We can't exclude a possibility of that story can also be correct. Besides, I've also read Krishna asking Karna to handover all his good Karmas to him before Karna gets killed. See in Gita it is said that if a person has to be liberated it is a must that he must not only have any bad Karmas to affect him but he must also have no good Karmas. Because good Karmas always brings Sukha and bad ones Dukha and both of this will get you attached to this world. So only the balancing of both Sukha-Dukha can give a person Moksha. That could be a reason why Krishna asked for his good Karmas. I think the most blessed is a person whose Karmas are being destroyed by the God himself even before they complete their effects. Usually time waits until all the Karmas come to an end. Hence the story of Krishna asking Karna's good Karmas may indicate how noble and pure man was Karna that the Lord himself wanted Karna to be his part at the very next possible moment and he destroyed all his Karmas for it.

Vaikartana I think that part was there in the original book and it somehow got edited later. See this has no proofs. And neither I'm an authority to confirm this. But just my random thought or intuition or anything you call such a feeling...
