You know how in movies a mentally unstabled person does weird things and people just watch them with sympathy, well my guess is that this is somewhat how people reacted to Dury.

Krishna is just standing there and Dury is walking around looking at invisible people (or perhaps he really is going up to the people but sees SRJ).

Only when Dury screamed did Dhriti react which might suggest that everyone was just watching in silence, further suggesting that two adharmis _the father and son _ got to see the virat roop.

Finally, I think someone mentioned this before but the parallels between yesterday's Dury humiliation scene and Draupadi's VH scene is astounding.

(I'm on a phone so apologies for typos and such)

I too interpreted the scene the same way. I don't think the others except duryo and dhrit got to witness the cosmic form. Though they did sense that something unusual took place which left duryo in his manic state. I thought Duryo did lead Krishna physically to imprison him, because Dushy was there too. Or was Dushy too an illusion? Dury did chain Krishna, because the others were trying to stop him from doing it. So if everything was an illusion for Duryo, did Krishna unchain himself? I suppose that's what happens when you use chains without a lock.😆

I think Drona - Bhisma - Vidur saw something beyond the idiocy of Dury yesterday cuz of how they were reacting and the looks they were exchanging with each other...And Dury arrested & left Dushy in jail🤣

Nice to see the soul connection btwn Gandhari and her Maharaj --> both opting to be blind

I thought that was very well done. I had not interpreted Vishwaroop quite that way ever. I guess God (in any religion) is Vishwambhar, so it makes sense.

Yeah, the VH parallels were astounding and I think quite apt. I liked the way they presented Panchali as all flame and fury, and now Krishna as icy fury.

I don't have a problem with it being only Dhrit and Dury seeing this. Shakuni is evil to the core and would not change for anything. Dushassan is a moron and would not understand. Dhrit and Duryodhan had just about intelligence to understand but unfortunately not enough heart. All others were innately good and didn't need miracles.

As it is said God comes not for the righteous but to call the sinners back. Those who are well have no need of a physician

The citation I provided is after Arjuna wanted to have a duel with Karna, he ordered Krishna to take him to Karna but after seeing Karna firing the Bhargavastrra, Arjuna had second thoughts and this second thoughts made him scared and accept Krishna's advice of meeting Yudhi first and getting his temper raised.

The fact that Arjuna had Krishna to advice him and Karna didn't, doesn't make Arjuna's excuse more viable, excuse is an excuse even if you cover it up with someone's advice. Arjuna retreated two times fearing a weapon of Karna, once with Bhargavastra and second time on night 14th, the only difference is that Krishna 'advised' him

@AnjanaYYZ : Agreed.

@-Shruti

Not really. Karna fired Bhargavastra two times, below is the citation. First it nullified Arjuna's Indrastra, second time Arjuna retreated.

"with eyes rolling in wrath, bending his bow of enduring string and producing a twang as loud as the roar of the sea, invoked into existence the Bhargava weapon. Cutting off Partha's showers of shafts proceeding from the mouth of that weapon of Indra (which Arjuna had shot), Karna, having thus baffled his antagonist's weapon with hisown, destroyed cars and elephants and foot-soldiers (of the Pandava army)"
Filled with wrath and possessed of great activity, the Suta's son, that foremost of men, laughing at the two Krishnas, pierced the foremost of Pancala warriors with well shot arrows in that battle"

Karna made everyone so helpless that Bhima out of anger said this to Arjuna.

Beholding that weapon of Dhananjaya frustrated by Karna in the midst of battle, the angry son of the Wind-god, with eyes blazing with wrath, began to squeeze his hands. Indeed, the wrathful Bhima, his anger being provoked, drew deep breaths and addressing Arjuna of true aim, said, "How, O Jishnu, could this wretch fallen off from virtue, this Suta's son, putting forth his might in battle, slay so many foremost of Pancala warriors, in thy sight? Before now thou couldst not be conquered by the very gods or the Kalakeyas. Thou receivedst the touch of the arms of Sthanu himself. How, then, O diadem-decked Arjuna, could the Suta's son pierce thee first with ten long shafts such as are used by car-warriors? That the Suta's son should today have succeeded in baffling the arrows shot by thee seems to me to be very amazing

.
Bhargav astra was used to counter Arjuna's Indrastra and give Karna an upperhand, which it did. Arjuna fired Brahmastra much later and only after Bhima and Krishna made Arjuna realize that Karna is crushing everyone.

Thus addressed (by Krishna), the high-souled Partha of exceeding might set his heart upon the slaughter of the Suta's son. Indeed, urged by Bhima and Janardana, and recollecting (his woes), and taking an internal survey of himself, and calling to mind the object for which he had come to this world, he addressed Keshava, saying, "I will now invoke into existence a mighty and fierce weapon for the good of the world and the destruction of the Suta's son. Let me have thy permission, as also Brahman's and Bhava's, and of all those that are conversant with Brahma." Having said these words unto the holy Keshava, Savyasaci of immeasurable soul bowed unto Brahman and invoked into existence that excellent irresistible weapon called brahmastra which could be applied by the mind alone. Baffling that weapon, however, Karna looked beautiful as he continued, like a cloud pouring torrents of rain, to shoot his shafts"

After Bhima and Krishna's urge, Arjuna fired Brahmastra (invoked by the mind) and Karna nullified it as soon as it was released. Arjuna fired it again and the usual game of piercing one another continued.

Finally saw the episode. I loved SP's interpretation of cosmic avatar.

God is everywhere and in everyone- that's what Krishna was in his 'vishwaroop'

As Krishna had alluded to the day before- the melody of the flute is only appreciated by a few, others just interpret it as noise.

Duryodhana: was trapped in his own game and dismissed reality to illusion

Dhrit: despite being given a chance to see the 'light' preferred to stay blind

Others (I guess they didn't see the cosmic avatar): but are more aware of reality and in no illusions any more.

Loved the expression on Bheeshma's face. He is ready for his final journey

My fav dialogues:

1. Krishna to Gandhari: Kshama apne putron se maangiye. This is such a true statement. If Gandhari had instilled the right values and asked her brother to leave HP years ago, the story would have been way different

2. Krishna: I can only sympathize with an ignorant man like Duryodhana. Another similarity with Jesus Christ here :)

As you all pointed out, loved the parallel between Dury's helplessness in the sabha with Draupadi's helplessness when no one came to her rescue.

I've to applaud the creativity of SP team in their interpretation of some symbolic scenes and of course their dialogues

@ Red Oh, so true. I could put in quote upon quote (from the show) which seem to be the same as the New Testament. I have read Ramayan and Mahabharat translations but never the Gita, but I am going to now. The show has got me thinking about the similarities and not just in the teachings, even in the stories. One of my friends who is Bahai (apparently, they believe in everything even when seemingly completely contradictory) thinks that God comes down every 2K or 3K years to knock some sense into humanity and probably hopes that at some point something will stick😆
