That revelation would not have undone so many years of closeness and trust that was built, as it is, Karna remained forever loyal to Duryodhana up to his death and this would not have been overlooked even if Duryodhana came to know of the fact though he may have been disturbed by it and would be no fault of Karna who didnt know himself that he had been abandoned in a river by his birth mother. I do not think Duryodhan would have looked at that soul any differently, rather he would have been sympathetic towards Karna for this, for Karna was ever a true friend to Duryodhana.

Even earlier on if the secret had been out, Karna had already pledged his loyalty to Duryodhana while the latter had generously crowned him. I guess the cut off point when its debatable if Duryodhan would have considered Karna as a friend might have been the Rangbhoomi moment, if the secret was let out by Kunti there and then, the Pandavas may have accepted him into their family before Duryodhan could take pity on his being dismissed by everyone. But if she revealed after Duryodhan embraced him it wouldn't have made a difference to Karna, he had already pledged a lifetime of friendship because of Duryodhans defining act of generosity where the Pandavas rejected him, Duryodhana might have tested his loyalty then but Karna being Karna wouldnt be swayed especially as they who were related bore him ill by discriminating him while they who were not embraced him wholeheartedly.

Karna despised the caste system because it caused a lot of heartache for him. It prevented him from reaching his full potential! He never got anything before Duryodhan's friendship. The friendship was a complete turn around to his life and he had something to hope for!

Karna would probably say and I quote " From the Mother that abandoned me at birth because her prestige was more important I am better off with my friend Duryodhan who looks at me as a person rather than a obstacle"

Actually, it was Bheeshma who killed Sweta. Shalya got pummeled by Sweta, who almost won that day for the Pandavas, until Bheeshma killed him.

In what way did Yudisthir behave silly? (I'm assuming it's wrt Shalya, right?)
