If Vasudev Krishan can have 36000 wives, why Krishanaa aka Draupadi's decision for 5 husbands is such a big deal?

Give your thoughts if you were Draupadi in that age and wanted to marry all 5 of them, how would you present your case - Bharatiya naari jaago aur lado equality ke liye😆

Ethically I do not consider Draupadi's position as anything admirable or even slightly similar to male counterparts like Krishna or Arjun. Polyandry was imposed on her, whereas polygamist kings and princes were free to choose or elope with anyone they pleased. Was Draupadi free to look for additional husbands beyond Pandavas? The straight answer is NO. Unless both the genders have equal freedom of choice, there cannot be any equality. So its faulty to assume that polyandry and polygyny are two sides of the same coin WRT Indian mythology.

Krishna had 16,108 wives. Where did you get 36,000?

Absolute nonsense. Please first read our scriptures and get your figures right. Next don't fall for Startbharat's interpretation of Mahabharat.

Well, I think it is not the best example but at least one example to show from our so called historical book. I didn't want this post to get serious 😊 but if you think from that point of view, Mahabharat has many examples where a revolution was intended but was probably has taken a subtle approach. Kunti and Madri having sons from outside marriage; Draupadi marrying 5 pandavas; Infact, Pandu and Dhritrashtra's birth is from Vedvyas who was himself a pre-marital son of Satyavati.

And for Pandavas, I haven't heard of any wives of Yudhishthir, Nakul and Sehdev. This probably means that they were quite devoted to Draupadi.

That's rude.

And I am not a small kid to fall for anybody's interpretation. I have my own way of thinking and I have been questioning them since I have been reading/ hearing those stories when I was a kid. I have similar questions for Ramayan,

Yudhsithir had a wife Devika , daughter of shibi king ushinar , Nakul had a wife Karenumati , daughter of Chedi king shishupala and sahadev had a wife his cousin Vijaya daughter of madra king shalya
