Wow amazing dear! I love Cinderalla theme! But your story is bit different...Malik is alive but he is dead according to me. He is not aware of anything happening to his daughter and considers her as mental...portrayed by his second wife. I wish he had seen to it before...see the truth. I don't like him. Thankfully Dips and Ria are not his biological daughters...
Madhu is ill treated so badly...I wish to strangle the three witches...sadly I can't and I hope RK does it, making them see and face hell.

Waiting for our hero entry!
Cont soon dear...and yeah congrats for your new story!

Part 2

Over the next few days, Riya and Dipali were busy preparing themselves for the ball along with their mother. They went for shopping daily and returned home with bags full of goods while Madhu could only watch. As Madhu did her tiresome work, Riya and Dipali strutted around the manor after applying their homemade face packs to enhance their complexion. They had also lost their extra kilos to look stunning in their party gowns. After watching them, Madhu could not help but dream about attending the ball because her stepsisters made it sound so special. She wished to go and see what it was like to attend a party as she had never been before but she knew this time she would not be allowed either. Kamini always mentioned how she was an embarrassment for her family. One evening, Madhu was cleaning an old antique vase when Kamini was sitting on her wooden swing seat and eating fruits. Just then, Mallik returned home with a packet in his hand. As he entered the hall, Kamini had already snatched the cloth from Madhu's hand, which she was cleaning with.

"What are you doing dear?" Kamini asked sweetly and Madhu stared at her before realising her father must be home. "How many times have I told you not to do any housework? What am I for? I will do all that. You come here."

Kamini pulled Madhu over to the swing seat and forced her to sit on it.

"Here eat this fruit I have cut for you," she said forcing a piece of apple in her hand while eyeing her dangerously with her back to Mallik.

Mallik watched her with emotion. He was so grateful to Kamini for caring about Madhu so much and he wished Madhu would understand this too.

"Oh when did you arrive Mallik?" Kamini asked turning to him and pretending to be surprised.

"Just now," Mallik smiled as he walked over to them.

"What's that in your hand?" Kamini asked eyeing the packet in his hand greedily.

"This is for Madhu," Mallik said and Madhu looked up at him.

"Oh ... really," Kamini said not at all pleased.

Mallik opened the packet to take out a folded midnight blue material.

"I saw this and thought it would look beautiful on you Madhu ...," Mallik said kindly handing it to Madhu, who took it at once, "... so I bought it for you."

Madhu was touched by the gift and she smiled at her father. It had been years since she had received a gift. She unfolded the material to find a beautiful gown. She stood up as she looked at it thoroughly. She could not believe it that he had bought her something with so much love. Kamini was watched Madhu with jealousy. The gown looked so expensive and classy. Why did Mallik have to spend so much money on this wretched girl? Where was she going to go anyway wearing this gown? Oh no, she thought. Mallik was not thinking of taking this girl to the ball was he?

"Do you like it?" Mallik asked.

"I love it," Madhu said brightly running her hand down the soft material. "It's so beautiful."

"I want you to wear this to the ball," Mallik said.

Kamini looked at him angrily but quickly softened her expression as he looked at her.

"Am I going too?" Madhu asked with surprise.

"Of course you are," Mallik replied as he moved forward and placed his hand on her head briefly while Kamini frowned.

He knew she was really sensitive but he wanted her to be a part of the family too. He would ask Kamini to take extra care of her and make sure she would not overreact to anything.

"Oh this gown is so lovely. Madhu will look like a princess when she wears this," Kamini said composing herself and Mallik nodded with agreement. "Why don't you go and freshen up Mallik while I heat up your dinner?"

Mallik headed off to his room while Kamini shot daggers at Madhu. Madhu then walked off to her room with her gown before Kamini would say something. Kamini folded her arms and frowned. She was not at all happy with Mallik's gesture. What was the need of taking this wretched girl to the ball with them? She did not deserve it at all. She then became worried and unfolded her arms. Kamini had seen Madhu since her childhood. She knew she was a really beautiful child and so she had always been jealous that her daughters were not as beautiful as her. Kamini had deprived her of healthy food and good clothes to make her less attractive and she felt she had succeeded too. But what if Madhu would transform to her beautiful self when she groomed herself for the ball? What if her beauty overshadowed her daughters' beauty? No she would not let that happen. Not when the prince was going to select a girl to marry. Kamini decided she had to do something so that Madhu would not attend the ball.

That night Riya and Dipali were dancing in their room to a song playing on the radio when Kamini entered their room. They were so lost in the dance moves, which they had invented that they did not notice their mother. Kamini was appalled by their dance when she saw Riya twirling around the room clumsily and Dipali jumping on the spot doing something weird with her arms. She turned off the radio to get their attention and both sisters stopped dancing.

"Who dares to turn off my radio?" Dipali asked with her head high acting like she was a princess.

"Your mother," Kamini said irritably and Dipali turned to her at once. "What are you both doing?"

"We are practising dance mother," Riya answered. "You know we have to dance at the ball."

"Is this how you are going to dance?" Kamini asked worried.

"Well how else are we going to dance? We don't know how to dance," Dipali asked upset.

"Don't worry I will hire you both a dance teacher," Kamini said after thinking.

"Oh that will be great mother," Riya said happily.

"You both must look your best on the day," Kamini said seriously. "I want the prince to choose one of you as his bride."

"Of course he will mother," Dipali said determined. "He is bound to fall for one of us because we are the most beautiful girls in this town."

"Our beauty is much talked about in this town and the nearby towns," Riya boasted.

But Kamini looked hesitant as she looked at them. She had always made them feel that they were exceptionally beautiful to make Madhu feel bad but the truth was that she always wished her daughters had inherited more of her looks. Kamini felt they looked more like their father, who was not so good looking and that was why she left him. Well if he had been rich then she probably would not leave him, she thought sadly because he was her love once upon a time. Kamini got so lost in her past that her daughters had to shout to get her attention.

"Mother!" They yelled.

"What?" Kamini snapped as she came back to the present and they quietened down. "So where was I ... I wanted to tell you both something."

"What?" Riya asked.

"Madhubala will be coming to the ball too," Kamini told them and they were shocked. "Your father brought her a very beautiful gown for the party."

"What? Father brought her a gown? Is it very beautiful? Is it more beautiful than our gowns?" Dipali asked with jealousy.

"Oh so what mother," Riya said carelessly. "Nobody is going to look at that ugly maid anyway. She can never match our beauty even if she wears a dress made of gold."

"But still I do not want her to come with us," Kamini said deliberately not mentioning why after all she could not hurt her daughters' feelings. They were too precious to her.

"Even I do not want her to come mother," Dipali said evilly.

"Then I have a plan," Kamini said with an evil smirk.

Back in the hall, Madhu was cleaning a large statue made of stone when Dipali peeked at her from behind a pillar. She then smirked and rushed off too Madhu's room. Dipali began searching around the dark room when she finally opened the broken wardrobe and looked at the midnight blue gown evilly.

"This gown is so exquisite," Dipali said as she walked into the hall with Madhu's gown.

Madhu turned to her at once as she went and stood near the mantelpiece. She gave her a worried look as Dipali always spoiled things for her.

"Come here Madhu," Dipali called her sweetly with a smile.

Madhu anxiously walked over to her and stood opposite Dipali in front of the fireplace.

"It will look so beautiful on you," Dipali said nicely as she placed the gown against Madhu's figure.

Madhu could not believe that Dipali was being so kind and stared back at her anxiously. It had to be some trick. She had stopped trusting them long back. Dipali then glanced at a corner and saw her father walking with Riya. She raised the gown in front of Madhu's face and smiled evilly.

"Here take it," she said and Madhu outstretched her hands but Dipali purposely threw it in the fireplace next to Madhu.

Madhu's eyes widened as she saw her gown fall in the fire and she turned to Dipali crossly.

"Oh dear," Dipali said as Mallik caught sight of them. "What did you do Madhu?"

"What's the matter?" Mallik asked as he noticed Madhu's outstretched hands.

"Look father," Dipali pointed to the burning gown. "Madhu threw her gown in the fire."

"What?" Mallik asked shocked as he looked from Madhu to the fire.

"No father I did not throw it," Madhu said quickly shaking her head with fear.

"Why are you lying Madhu?" Dipali asked emotionally. "I'm sorry I said it was nice. You didn't have to throw it just because I liked it."

"You are lying," Madhu said in a shaky voice. "You-"

"Oh didn't I say it will look nice on you?" Dipali said defensively.

"You did but-"

"Enough Madhu," Mallik said raising his hand to silence her. "I am fed up of this sentimental behaviour of yours."

Madhu fell silent knowing that there was no point of saying anything. Her father always believed what Kamini and her daughters said. Her impression was too bad for him to believe anything she said. At that point Kamini entered the scene, looking content.

"What happened here?" She asked casually and looked at the fire and her hand reached her mouth. "Isn't that Madhu's gown?"

"Look what Madhu did mother," Dipali went and hugged her mother, making crying noises. "She fought with me and threw dress in the fire."

Kamini pushed Dipali away showing fake anger and slapped her. Dipali's hand reached her cheek as she gaped at her mother. She never expected her to hit her so hard. Madhu, who could see right through them looked away upset.

"How many times have I told you not to upset Madhu?" Kamini yelled at Dipali. "She is delicate."

"Please do not say anything to Dipali. It is not her fault," Mallik said and Madhu looked up at her father with disappointment.

Mallik then walked away to his room visibly upset. They all were working so hard to please Madhu but there is no point. Mallik now believed nothing could change Madhu's behaviour. She would never accept Kamini as her mother and Riya and Dipali as her sisters. Kamini has always treated her like a princess and loved her more than her own daughters but she always dressed up like a maid and did the household chores. Why? She probably wanted people to think that Kamini ill treated her. This really was not fair, he thought.

A tear rolled down Madhu's cheek as she watched the flames consume the gown she had already dreamed of wearing. Kamini, Riya and Dipali exchanged evil looks as they ganged up on Madhu.

"Poor Madbala will not be able to go to the ball now because her only dress is burnt," Riya said meanly.

"And father won't buy Madbala a new one either," Dipali said nastily. "Unless you want to come in your rags, we don't mind."

"Good idea Dipali," Riya agreed. "Then eveyone will think a beggar has arrived and poor Madbala will earn money of her own."

Both sisters began laughing crazily and Madhu stood like a statue, listening to every word.

"Listen to me you wretched girl," Kamini said sternly. "Never dream of something you do not deserve. You were no more than a maid in this house and will never be more than a maid either. Never try to compete with my daughters. Now get back to work."

Kamini threw an old rag at Madhu, who caught it and resumed her work. All this did not affect her much anymore. She was used to it by now.

I was happy here, Madhu attleast got dress for ball but...these Kamini and her daughters are too much wicked..

Mainly Kamini...she left her husband as he wasn't rich or good looking...and claims to love him once upon a time...she has brainwashed her daughters to be like that, arrogant...

Malik...he is made to believe Madhu is bad, noons for Madhu...and about wretched cloth too, he thinks she is doing this to make everyone believe her stepmother is bad ...

Really tough situation for Madhu ...now who is there to help this Cinderella to go to ball?...

Thanks for pm...loved this part. ...
