The upcoming season of Jhalak airing from July 11th has gone for a makeover on the judges panel as Ganesh Hegde will be filing in the space of Remo Dsouza. Telly Buzz catches up with this ace choreographer cum singer about his excitement for the upcoming season of this reality show!

What convinced you to do Jhalak?

Raj Nayak, the CEO of Colors, convinced me to take up the show. I have never been too keen on taking up reality shows because I always felt that judges have nothing to do except sit and give marks. Since I am a performer, it becomes difficult for me to just sit around. But Jhalak is a platform in which you can do what ever you want and one doesn't have to be a typical judge. You can come on the stage, dance, sing and that's the reason why I said yes to Jhalak.

Are there new changes brought in the new season of Jhalak Dikhala Jaa?

There aren't many changes except that the contestants are new and the judges panel has some new faces. The energy is definetely different and the show this season won't follow the traditional method of treating judges and contestants differently. We all are like one family and sometimes Shahid goes and sits with the contestants, I dance with them on the stage and so on.

As you have step into Remo's shoes, what will be your level of responsibilities?

No one can fill eachother's shoes because our shoes are very different. Remo and I have our own individual USPs. What he did in Jhalak was something different and what I will do, will be completely different. We can't do the same thing because everyone has different personalities. Similarly Shahid cannot fill in Madhuri's shoes because we all are different.

What will be your judging parameters?

I feel these are stars, not dancers and hence my first reply to them was don't try to become dancers, try to be the stars you already are. Because I am looking for a star becoming an excellent dancer but that cannot happen without you being a star. You have to bring in your aura, your charisma more into your hands and feets. If you dance like your choreographer, then what will be the difference. You need to look like a star unlike your Choreographer and that's the whole concept of the show dancing with the stars.
