RK was astonished to see her with a gorgeous outfit. He was mesmerized by her beauty. He kept staring at her. He was simply lost in her beauty.
'RK, seriously is that you?' Madhu spoke breaking the silence.
'Good evening Miss. Gorgeous!' RK winked.
'Umm.. good evening.' Madhu replied in a dull tone.
'Madhu? weren't you expecting me? why you sound dull?' RK inquired her.
'Of course I was! but...' Madhu stopped midway. How can she say that she's been expecting him to be dressed in a formal wear which is some what pleasing & appropriate for a dinner date? RK had simply crushed her hopes.
'What? were you expecting me to wear a formal dress like a businessman?' RK popped up the exact, what Madhu was about to blurt out.
'Umm..well. This is a dinner date right? Madhu spoke in a low tone.
'So?' 'Does the kind of dress makes a difference?' He smirked.
Madhu kept numb.
'Madhu you look absolutely stunning & sexy with your gorgeous outfit!' RK winked.
'Thank you!' Madhu thanked in a dull tone. She was hell disappointed.
'You sound upset!' RK came closer to her.
'Nothing.' Madhu looked away.
'Madhu' He touched her bare shoulder from her behind. She felt an electric shock going through her spinal cord. She almost felt her adrenaline hormone working out with this unexpected touch. It almost boosted her feelings.
'Madhu..!' RK repeated, as Madhu was lost in another world. She was brought back to reality. Both of them exchanged an awkward look.
'Madhu, I'm sorry if I'm hurting your feelings but honestly why do you expect to go on a dinner date with formal wear? I mean it's not like a prom right?'
Madhu kept silent.
'Madhu, isn't it too uncomfortable to be dressed up like that? come on we are going to relax! why not casual wear?
'RK! just stop it! trying to be smart? what the hell? it's our first dinner out & you came up as if you are going to the beach! this is not a god damn trip! Do you know how much it is special for me? I chose the best outfit I have for the night! And you...! you just crushed away my hopes!'
Madhu vented out her frustration on RK. RK was shocked to hear her response.
'Madhu?'
Madhu realized that she has blurted out something which wasn't supposed to let out. She didn't want to face RK anymore. She didn't even have a courage to look back at his face. She wished she could vanish at once, without facing the embarrassment.
She hurried her steps towards the staircase ignoring RK. She just wanted to lock herself in her room.She lost her balance on the 3rd step & was about to trip. In a swift, she was landed on his strong arms. Thankfully RK could save her on time. Both of them kept staring at each other. Madhu was wrapped with his protective arms. They shared an intense eye lock.
'Formal wear is troublesome! isn't it?' RK whispered in her ear. Madhu was brought back to reality. She released his grip. She looked down with embarrassment.
'Six inch heels don't always work on your favor, right?' RK chuckled. 'Just leave me away!' Madhu pushed him away.
'Oho! if I had just left you, you won't believe what would happen to you!' RK winked.
Madhu ignored him & started stepping up.
'Madhu!' RK called her, but she didn't pay attention to him.
'Madhu! what about our dinner date?' RK inquired.
'Forget it!' Madhu shouted from upstairs.
'Typical girls!' RK sighed.
Madhu had almost spoiled RK's plans. He was planning for a BBQ night at the lakeside. It was place rich with serenity, and was ideal for a romantic candle night dinner. RK was different. He didn't like dinner dates which were packed inside five star hotels. He always cherished his privacy & freedom.
So their dinner date didn't work out as they wanted. Madhu later regretted her decision of behaving badly in front of RK. She was upset. RK too felt bad for Madhu. Trishna & Rajeev were disappointed too.
Days passed & both of them were busy in their lives. They just used to talk casually but both of them realized that their relationship as friends has been slightly changed. Though both of them talked to each other hardly, they kept missing each other badly.
An year passed & it was Ruhi's first birthday. Madhu baked a cute cake herself for her little niece. RK gifted another super gift. It was a toy car which Ruhi could actually get in.
'She still couldn't even make use of the previous gift you gave Rishu!' Trishna giggled.
'Hahaha your incredible roller skate shoes' Madhu smiled sarcastically.
'Don't underestimate my gifts to Ruhi!' 'She will grow up to be a smart kid! And she won't be playing with barbies & doing boring dress up games!' RK winked.
'Oh really? But Trish, you have to be careful about Ruhi's safety!' Because being too adventurous can cause negative results' Madhu warned.
'Hey Ruhi! your god mother is so jealous of me' RK spoke to his niece while taking her on his arms.
'No Ruhi! I can't simply make your god father spoil you rotten!' Madhu replied.
'When she starts speaking, I'm sure she will tell how crazy her god parents are!' Rajeev chuckled.
Madhu lit the candle of the cake. Ruhi seemed so excited. They all sang 'Happy birthday'& wished little Ruhi. Trishna cut the cake & served everyone. Soon Ruhi started playing with icing accompanied by her uncle, RK.
Madhu was peacefully enjoying a piece of macaroon which was made for Ruhi's birthday. Suddenly she felt somebody was rubbing her cheeks hard with something. Within no time she realized that it was none other than RK who just ruined her cheeks, by applying icing.
'RK!' ' I won't spare you!' Madhu screamed top of her lungs. She too got a big amount on icing on her hand & ran behind RK. She wanted to take revenge from him. Madhu kept chasing him. They were running around the house like Tom & Jerry.
Ruhi started clapping with excitement. She was staring at her god parents who are running around the house crazily. They were Ruhi's ultimate source of entertainment. She kept giggling.
'Oh god!' Rajeev face palmed. 'Madhu be careful you will slip! icing already on the floor'Trishna warned, giggling. 'Trish, have you noticed something?' Rajeev whispered.'What?' 'Look at Rishu! he has changed a lot. He loves being around Madhu!' 'Hmm yeah I too have noticed it. They are made for each other. Why not make it official? I need to talk about it with Madhu soon.'
After a several rounds around the house both of them were tired.
'Hahaha Madhu! you loser! couldn't catch me yet!' RK kept teasing her. She was irritated. 'The game is not over yet Mr. Kundra!' Madhu resumed chasing him.
In a swift, RK slipped down due to some icing on the floor. Madhu too couldn't stop at once due to her high speed of running. She bumped in to RK. She literally fell on top of him.
'Madhu !' Trishna was worried. 'Shh.. don't interrupt their romantic encounter' Rajeev whispered. Both of them kept quiet & observed RK & Madhu.
RK & Madhu were staring at each other. They felt a burning sensation after colliding their bodies. Their bodies were wet with sweat & icing. They shared an intense eye lock. A strand of hair was falling on Madhu's face. RK slowly cleared it. He was almost caressing her face. Both of them were lost in each other.
Trishna & Rajeev exchanged positive looks with each other. It was clearly visible that love was about to bloom between RK & Madhu.
'Ahem..' Trishna cleared her throat. RK & Madhu were brought back to normal. Both of them looked at each other in embarrassment. Madhu got up quickly. RK extended his hand, expecting that Madhu would help him to get up.
'Madhu please help me!' RK pretended to be helpless.
'No way! stand up by yourself.' Madhu giggled.
'Hey! for the first time Rishabh Kundra is seeking help from somebody. You are lucky to be that one! So help me!' RK winked.
'Oh really?' 'Hmm okay then.' Madhu extended her right hand.
RK touched it & pulled her back towards him.
'What the hell are you doing?' Madhu shouted with embarrassment.
'It's not my fault! your hands are slippery!' RK chuckled. 'You are the one who kept chasing me with a huge amount of icing!'
'Huh?' 'Then didn't you cover my face with icing?' Madhu glared at him angrily.
'Haha that's just for fun.' RK winked.
'Oh really? then Mr. Kundra, keep this in your mind! Every action has an opposite reaction!'
'Madhu you sound like a freaking Physicist!' RK laughed at her.
'Whatever!' Madhu ignored him & went away to change. Her outfit was almost ruined with icing.
Ruhi's birthday was memorable with lots of crazy incidents. A week after Ruhi's birthday Madhu received a shocking news which she could hardly believe.
Madhu was busy working over time at her office on some urgent project work. She got a call from the Mumbai Police around 9 pm at night that Trishna & Rajeev had met with an accident & asking her to come there as soon as possible. This unexpected news shocked her to death. She rushed to the police station leaving her work behind.
She couldn't believe the next news she received, that Trishna & Rajeev were no more. They had lost their lives from the tragic accident. The road accident has occurred while they were driving back home after a wedding of another friend. Thankfully Ruhi was not there as they had kept left at their neighbour's place.
Madhu's world was shattered in to pieces. She couldn't believe what had happened. Her friend was gone. Her best friend whom she used to share everything was no more. Tears formed in her eyes in no time. They kept rolling down her cheeks. She felt that if she had lost everything in her life. Trishna is a friend that cannot be replaced.
RK reached the place in a few minutes. He saw Madhu seated on a bench near by & sobbing burying her head on her hand bag. He felt that something was wrong. He knew that they had met with an accident but was unaware about the fact that his cousin brother & sister-in-law was no more.
He put his hand on Madhu's shoulder. Madhu looked up with teary eyes. RK leaned down near her. She moved her head signaling him that they are no more. RK was shocked too. He was not able to believe. He stood up with teary eyes.
In the next moment Madhu hugged him tightly & started weeping. He too hugged her back. Both of them felt that great loss in their lives.
The funeral of Trishna & Rajeev took place the next day. Little Ruhi was unaware about the fact that she has lost her parents. The little girl kept crying, seeking her mom's warmth. Madhu took Ruhi in her arms & tried to pacify her. RK too tried his best to console Ruhi.
After 2 days of Trishna & Rajeev's death, RK & Madhu were called upon by the lawyer of them.
'Good morning Miss. Madhubala Malik & Mr. Rishabh Kundra .' Rajeev's lawyer, Mr. Mehra greeted them.
'Good morning'
'First of all I'm sorry about your loss'
'Thank you Mr. Mehra' RK replied.
'As you both know I called you to inform about the last will of late Mr. Rajeev Khurana.'
'Yes sir.'
'As per his wish, if something would have occurred, you, Miss Malik & Mr. Kundra are appointed to take the custody of Ruhi Khurana.' 'Further more, Ruhi should be with her god parents at her own home.'
'I hope you got it.' Mr. Mehra spoke.
'Umm?' RK and Madhu were confused.
'That means, Miss. Malik & Mr. Kundra have to hold the custody of Ruhi, & should live together at the same house with her. Mr & Mrs. Rajeev Khurana wishes that their daughter should be at their own house.'
'Hope I cleared your confusion'
'What?' RK was shocked to hear those words.
'Heck no!' Madhu added.
'What do you guys mean? That you simply cannot take Ruhi's custody?' Mr. Mehra spoke in a surprised tone.
'Well Mr. Mehra, I agree with you. If it was their wish we can make it happen, but we simply cannot live together in a house!' Madhu spoke.
RK too nodded his head with agreement.
'Why cannot you? then how could both of you look after Ruhi? Mr. Mehra inquired.
'Come on Mr. Mehra! how could we? we are not man & wife to be in a house together.' Madhu raised her voice.
'Then why not make it official for the sake of Ruhi?' Mr. Mehra replied.
'Mr. Mehra? I am surprised to see a reputed lawyer speaking like this! what do you think of us huh?' Madhu was hyper. RK tried to calm her down.
'Miss. Malik. I clearly understand about your future. I cannot interfere in your life, but this is a matter of humanity. Ruhi has already lost her parents. You are her godparents. Ruhi's parents' wish was if something happens, then her god parents would take care of her. It was their last wish.'
'But Mr. Mehra how could we?'
'Okay fine. If you refuse to do so, then I might have to consider about sending Ruhi to an orphanage. Mr. Rajeev seemed to be confident with his decision about Ruhi's custody. There is nothing mentioned what to do, if this request is refused to carry on.'
Both Madhu & RK were staring at each other. It was a big decision in their lives. They simply couldn't leave their little Ruhi alone. They couldn't break the trust of Rajeev & Trishna.They agreed to take to custody of Ruhi.
A week later they got married in a simple ceremony only with the attendance of Madhu's parents & brother. Initially Madhu's parents didn't like this decision as they felt that their daughter is sacrificing her life for her best friend's daughter. But Madhu could convince them. There wasn't any reason to decline. RK too was financially stable & had the ability of keeping Madhu happy.
RK & Madhu came to a mutual agreement that they would not take their relationship ahead as a physical relationship as a married couple. It was solely done for the betterment of Ruhi & they promised each other that they would remain as friends, & nothing beyond that.
