Sugar Cubs
"Wake up Ansh or you are going to be late." Madhu said as she pulled her son's blanket. "Let me sleep Mumma. Five more minutes, Please?" He asked with a cute pout. Madhu smiled and walked out of the room. She walked into the kitchen and started preparing breakfast. "Good Morning." Rishabh said walking towards her. "Morning." Madhu replied with a smile. "Where is Ansh?" Rishabh asked. "He is still sleeping. Go wake him up." Madhu said chuckling. He smiled and started walking towards Ansh's room. "Hey kiddo, wake up. See the sun is already up." Rishabh said as he pulled Ansh's blanket. "Um..let me sleep for some time more Papa." Ansh said curling up. Rishabh smiled and then started tickling Ansh. "Stop it Papa. Please..." Ansh screamed as he started rolling on the bed but Rishabh didn't stop. "Fine. I am getting up" Ansh said as he raised his hands up in surrender. "Good." Rishabh said panting.

The two sat on the dining table as Madhu made parathas. Ansh leaned on the dining table closing his eyes. Suddenly Rishabh poked him. "Hmm." Ansh said sleepily. Rishabh bent close to his ear and whispered something. Ansh's eyes shot open in a second as he smiled wickedly. They quickly took forks and spoons in their hands and started hitting on the plates playing their very own musical band. Madhu turned behind to look at them in shock. "What the hell are you guys doing?" She asked raising her brow. "WE WANT FOOD. WE WANT FOOD." They shouted as they continued playing with the spoons. Madhu chuckled as she continued cooking ignoring them completely. Rishabh and Ansh's voice grew louder as Madhu started taking hurried steps towards them. "Chup!" Madhu said stuffing a paratha roll in Rishabh's mouth. Rishabh chocked as he tried to swallow it while Madhu chuckled looking at his condition. Madhu sat infront of Ansh as she started feeding him lovingly while Ansh giggled looking at his Dad.
Rishabh made an angry face and started walking towards his room to get ready for work. "I don't want milk Mumma." Ansh said making a disgusted face. "Aww my baby! Milk is very nutritious. Don't you want to become strong?" Madhu asked with animated face, "No!" Ansh replied grumbling. Madhu shook her head and walked towards the kitchen. She quickly took out the bottle of chocolate syrup from the shelf and mixed some of it in the milk. "Happy now?" She asked looking at Ansh. "Yay! I love you Mumma!" He said and gulped the milk in a go. Madhu smiled as Ansh ran inside his room. "Get ready fast. The bus would be here any minute now." She shouted from behind.

Madhu looked at the clock as she waited for Ansh to come back from school. It was already 6. She continued cutting fruits humming a song. Just then the door bell rang and she hurried to open the door. "Mumma!" Ansh said as he happily jumped into her arms. "See I got a star for completing me HW." Ansh said as he extended his notebook showing it to Madhu. Madhu smiled as she placed a gentle kiss on his forehead. "I always knew my baby is smart." She said with a smile. Ansh smiled and replied "I want to go out." Madhu raised her brow looking at him. "I got a star. So wont we celebrate?" Ansh asked dramatically. She smiled as she kept him down. "We will think about it sweetheart." She said and started walking towards the kitchen.
Ansh frowned as he sat on the couch looking at Madhu. The bell rang and Ansh ran open the door. Rishabh smiled and sat down extending his arms for Ansh. Ansh quickly jumped in and said "I want to go out Papa!" Ansh said pouting. Rishabh smiled seeing his childishness and picked him up in his arms. "Please Dad?" Ansh asked cutely. "GO get ready." Rishabh said keeping him down and Ansh ran towards his room while Madhu gaped at the two. Rishabh smiled as he walked towards her. "We are not going anywhere Rishabh." She said. Rishabh scrunched his brows as he looked at her confused. "Arent you tired? You just came back Rishabh. We can go some other time." She said. "I am fine Madhu. And if my son wants to go out then we will go out." HE said and placed a kiss on her forehead. Madhu smiled as they walked into their room.
Ansh jumped into their room wearing a Pokemon Tshirt and jeans. "Lets go. Lets go." He screamed tugging on Madhu's dupatta. "Just two minutes Ansh." Madhu said combing her hair. "Ansh come, let me comb your hair." Madhu said extending her arms. "No!" Ansh said shaking his head. Madhu smiled and started walking towards him. "Papa!" Ansh scream as he started running around the room, giggling. Rishabh walked out of the washroom wearing a blue shirt and rugged jeans. He chuckled looking at his very own tom and jerry. Quietly he bent down eyeing Ansh. "Gotcha!" He said picking up Ansh in his arms while Ansh struggled. "Your son isn't getting his hair combed." Madhu said chuckling. "I don't want to comb my hair Papa." Ansh said frowning. Rishabh smiled and ran his fingers through Ansh's hair settling his hair in a proper manner. "Is it fine now?" Rishabh asked looking at Madhu and she smiled nodding.
The three got into the car with Rishabh and Madhu on the front seats while Ansh sat behind. "So where do you want to go champ?" Rishabh asked looking at Ansh who was jumping on the back seat. "Uh...I want to go to Paris dad!" Ansh said excited. Rishabh chocked making Madhu chuckle. "Uh..But Paris doesn't come in India Ansh." Rishabh said with a smile while Madhu tried her best to control her laughter. "Why? I want to go to Paris! Paris!" Ansh shouted as he furiously jumped on the seat." What about we go to Paris sometime later baby? For now, lets go to the beach?" Madhu asked Ansh lovingly. "Ok." Ansh said frowning as he looked out of the window.
As soon as they reached the beach, Ansh jumped out of the car with excitement. "Ansh wait! You will fall down." Madhu said running behind him. "I will make sand castle!" Ansh screamed excited as he sat down to make a sand castle while Madhu smiled looking at his childishness. "Lets go sit there." Rishabh said pointing at a nearby rock. Madhu nodded as the two walked hand in hand. "Its beautiful here, right?" Madhu said looking at the waves. "Yeah." Rishabh replied with a smile as he put his arm around Madhu. She smiled and rested her head on his shoulder as Rishabh looked at Ansh. "We will have dinner somewhere in a nearby hotel." Rishabh said and Madhu nodded gently. "Papa!" Ansh called out drawing their attention. "Go, your son is calling you." Madhu said chuckling. "He is OUR son." Rishabh replied with a smile. "Yeah. That is the reason why he never listens to me." Madhu said looking away. Rishabh chuckled as he pulled her closer and said "That's because he is Papa's boy." "Yeah Yeah! Now go." Madhu said pushing him. "He loves you." Rishabh whispered with a smiled and started walking towards Ansh. The two started making sand castle while Madhu smiled looking at them.
An hour later, they walked into a nearby restaurant. "Lets sit there Papa!" Ansh said and ran towards a table at the corner while Madhu and Rishabh followed him with a smile. "What do you want?" Rishabh asked looking at the menu. "I want that Papa!" Ansh shouted as he pointed towards the pizza a lady on the other table was eating. The lady looked at them and smiled slightly embarrassing Madhu. "Ansh don't point." Madhu said hitting his hands while Rishabh chuckled. The three ate dinner as Ansh told his parents animated stories about his friends. They walked into the apartment as Ansh lazily followed his parents. He jumped onto the sofa and closed his eyes , exhausted. Madhu smiled as she picked him up in her arms and walked towards his room. She gently placed him down on the bed and ruffled his hair. "Good Night." She whispered as she placed a gentle kiss on his forehead.
She changed into her nightdress and quickly got onto the bed besides him. "Good Night." She said with a smile looking at Rishabh. "Good Night sweetheart." He said as he pulled her into his embrace. The morning sunlight fell on her face waking her up. She yawned as she tried opening her eyes. Slowly, she removed Rishabh's hand from her waist and rushed towards the washroom to take a quick shower.
Later that evening,
Madhu opened the main door as Ansh walked inside dejectedly. Madhu scrunched her eyebrows as she followed him "What happened baby?" She asked sitting beside him. "Mumma! That Harsh, he got a sister." Ansh said frowning. "That's good. Why are you sad then?" Madhu asked. "Even I want a sister." Ansh said looking at her making her chuckle. "Don't laugh Mumma! I wont talk to you. " Ansh said and angrily ran inside his room.
"Ansh open the door! I am sorry. Please baby?" Madhu said as she knocked on the door. "No." Ansh screamed from inside. Suddenly the door bell rang and Madhu rushed to open the door. "Rishabh, Ansh isn't opening the door. " Madhu said immediately. "Why?"Rishabh asked confused. "Go ask him yourself." Madhu said looking down. Rishabh walked towards Ansh's room and knocked on the door. "Ansh, its me champ! Please open the door." Rishabh said as he knocked on the door. Ansh walked towards the door and slowly peeked outside. "Only you can come inside." He said in a stern voice as he looked at Rishabh. Rishabh looked at Madhu and gently gave her an assuring smile while she just looked at him with a pout.
Rishabh walked inside Ansh's room closing the door behind him and Ansh sat down on the bed. "So whats the matter Ansh?" Rishabh asked lovingly as he sat beside him. "I want a sister." Ansh said casually while Rishabh gaped at him. "What?" Rishabh asked confused. "I want a sister dad. Even Harsh has one. Get me a sister, will you?" He asked with a puppy face. "Babies don't come just like that Ansh." Rishabh replied gently. "Then how do they come dad?" Ansh asked frustrated and Rishabh choked. "Maybe I will tell you that sometime later Champ." Rishabh said looking away. "Fine. Then just get me a sister."He said folding his hands. Rishabh rolled his eyes and muttered "Fine." "Really? Thank you dad!" Ansh said as he hugged Rishabh. "But you have to take care of the baby." Rishabh said with a smile. Ansh quickly nodded with a big smile. Rishabh walked out of the room and sighed. "Hey." He said as he walked towards Madhu. "So? What did he say?" Madhu asked nervous. "He said that he wants a sister." Rishabh said casually picking up an apple from the fruit basket. "I don't know what's wrong with him. He is behaving so childish." Madhu exclaimed as she took out some vegetable from the fridge. "There's nothing wrong in it. We can have another child." Rishabh said taking a bite from the apple. Madhu gaped at him and asked "You sure about it Rishabh? I mean, Ansh is just 4 years old. And one more child? Will we be able to manage?" She asked. "Of course Madhu! And I promise to take care of you all." Rishabh said as he placed a kiss on her forehead. Madhu smiled and hugged him lovingly.
After feeding Ansh, she pulled the blanket over him and lovingly ruffled his hair. Quietly, she tiptoed out of his room and walked inside her room. "Rishabh?" She called out seeing the dark inside the room. She spread out her arms as she tried to find him. Suddenly, a pair of hands snaked around her waist increasing her heartbeat. She could feel hot breath on her earlobe and she immediately turned behind to face Rishabh. "Rishabh..what are you doing?" She asked as her heart thumped against her chest. "Oh Madhu, I am just trying to fulfill my son's wish." HE said in a husky voice as adrenaline rushed through her body. He gently cupped her face and her eyes closed in a reflex. Slowly, he reduced the distance between them and placed his lips upon hers. Her hands slowly made their way upto his hair as she gently tugged on his hair pulling him closer. They parted after some time due to short of breath and he leaded her towards the bed.
2 weeks later,
Madhu anxiously paced across the floor as she looked at the clock. "How am I going to tell him this? How did I tell him the first time? Wait, it was Di who told Rishabh about my first pregnancy. But what will I do now? What should I tell him?" Madhu thought as she restlessly stood infront of the mirror. She quickly straightened her hair and looked at her reflection in the mirror. "I guess I should practice." She said and pulled out a stool for herself. She took in a deep breath and opened her eyes "Rishabh ..I am pregnant." She blurted out. "No! This is just too direct." She thought frustrated. "What if I tell him that I am going to be the mother of his baby?" But isn't that too filmy? Urgh! This is just so stupid!" She thought as she sat there on the stool staring at the mirror.
"Mumma! I am hungry!" Ansh screamed at the top of his lungs and Madhu walked out of the room dejectedly. She quickly walked towards the dining table and served dinner for them. "Here." She said as she handed over the plate to Ansh whose eyes were fixed on the Tv screen. "What's for dinner?" Rishabh asked as he walked into the living room. "Paneer. "Madhu said as she handed over the plate to him. He sat on the chair opposite him and started eating. She stared at him and thought "Shall I tell him now? Even Ansh is busy." She thought eyeing Ansh who was chewing on the food watching Tv. "Rishabh." She said looking at him. HE looked up at her and raised his brow. "Uh..I want to talk to you about something." She said hesitantly. "Yeah. Tell me." HE said with a smile. She stayed quiet for sometime and then taking in a deep breath she said "How is the paneer?" HE chuckled while she gently hit her head on the table. "Its delicious." HE said with a smile. She nodded and quickly got up and walked towards her room.
Later at 9, Rishabh walked into his room and looked at Madhu who was sitting on the bed reading a magazine. "I made Ansh sleep." He said with a smile. She gently smiled at him as he settled on the bed besides her. "So, what are you hiding? He asked suddenly shocking her. "What? I am not hiding anything." She replied hastily. "Then why are you behaving so strange? You can always tell me Madhu." He said keeping his hand on hers. She looked at him and smiled. "I wanted to tell you something important Rishabh." Madhu said looking at him and he gently nodded. "Rishabh, i..I mean we..Uh." She bit her lip as she thought of a way to tell him. "Relax Madhu. Its alright." He said as he gently caressed her face. "I am pregnant." She blurted out closing her eyes. He gaped at her not believing what he heard.
"What?"He asked shocked. Madhu immediately opened her eyes and said "You didn't hear? What is this Rishabh? IT was so difficult for me to tell you this! And you didn't even hear? I hate you!" She said and looked away. "No, I did hear. But I am...shocked." HE said as he looked down and his lips automatically curved into a smile. "You..You are pregnant?" He asked looking at her and she blushed profusely as she nodded. Rishabh smiled widely as he pulled her into his arms. "I m so happy Madhu! I cant believe this" HE said with a smile. "I am going to be a father, again! I am so excited." He said. She smiled at his childishness and said "There are still 9 more months to go Rishabh." "I know. But I cant wait for our baby to come into this world." HE said as he gently placed his hand on her stomach making her blush.

"Really? What surprise?" Ansh asked excited as Madhu and Rishabh sat beside him. "You are going to have a brother!" Rishabh said excited. "Or a sister." Madhu corrected with a smile and Rishabh chuckled. "What? Really?" Ansh screamed with joy as he looked at Madhu while she nodded with a smile. "YAy! I love you both!" Ansh said hugging them. "Papa." Ansh said pulling away and Rishabh looked at him. "You didn't tell me how babies come." He said pouting. Madhu choked and looked at Rishabh who closed his eyes with embarrassment. "Tell me Papa!" Ansh said as he jumped onto Rishabh's lap. "Didn't I tell you Ansh that I will tell you someday later?" Rishabh said looking at Madhu who blushed. "Mumma! Papa isn't telling me, you have to tell me now!" HE said adamant and Madhu gaped at him. "Uh...They come from..heaven?" She said biting her lip while Rishabh chuckled. "Did I come from heaven too?" Ansh asked scrunching his brows and Madhu slightly nodded while Rishabh tried his best to control his laughter. Madhu glared at Rishabh and Ansh said "That means I am an angel!" HE said happily. "Of course you are!" Madhu said picking him up in her arms.
A few months had passed since the news of Madhu's pregnancy was out. Madhu had started showing symptoms of pregnancy. Her mood swung every single minute which got Rishabh running behind her like crazy!
"Rishabh!"Madhu said as she vigorously patted him. Rishabh woke up with a jerk as he looked at her with his eyes wide open."I want to eat an ice cream." She said pouting. "Ice cream? Madhu its 3'0 clock in the night. No shop will be open. Go back to sleep." He said and went back to sleep. Suddenly, he could hear low sniffs and he immediately turned to look at Madhu who was crying. "Madhu? What happened?" He asked concerned. "I want ice cream!" Madhu screamed. "Jeez Madhu! I promise to get you ice cream tomorrow. But please go to sleep now!" He said helplessly. "If I would be on your place Mr.Kundra, then I would have never said a no' to a pregnant woman!" She said looking away. Rishabh gently smiled at her childishness and walked out of the room.
After about an hour, he walked out of the room and found her to be sleeping. He smiled and kept the plastic bag on the table and gently caressed her face. "Madhu." HE softly said and she scrunched her brows with her eyes still closed. "Madhu wake up honey." HE said slightly patting her cheek. She slowly opened her eyes and sat on the bed. "What?" She asked frowning. "Here's your ice cream."Rishabh said pointing towards the plastic bag on the table. She looked at the clock and angrily turned towards him. "Its 4'0 clock Rishabh! And you are waking me up to eat ice cream. Have you gone nuts?" She asked while Rishabh gaped at her in disbelief. She furiously went back to sleep while he looked at her puzzled.
The morning sunlight peeked in through the window and waked him up. HE stretched his arms yawning and sat upright. He looked beside to find Madhu eating ice cream, rather drinking it. She held the ice cream cup near her lips and was drinking from it. "Uh..what are you doing Madhu?' Rishabh asked confused. "What do you mean? This is all because of you! You didn't even tell me that you got me ice cream! Why didn't you wake me up? Because of you I have to drink this now! Its like a milkshake. And its not even cold!" Madhu exclaimed pouting while Rishabh looked at her in utter disbelief. "I woke you up Madhu." HE said. "You did?" She asked shocked and he nodded. Tears formed in her eyes and he looked at her in horror. "I am sorry. I didnt know. I shouldn't have snapped at you like this." She said as she started sobbing shocking him. "No Madhu! Please stop crying cupcake. Its ok." He said wiping her tears. "You aren't angry na?" She asked making a puppy face and he nodded. She smiled widely and jumped into his arms making him smile. "I love you." She whispered looking at him. "I love you more." HE said with a smile. "Shut up Rishabh! I love you more!" She argued. "Nah! I love you for being my darling wife. I love you for taking care of Ansh. And I love you for this." He said keeping his hand on her stomach making him smile. He slowly bent down and kissed her stomach. "Hi little Kundra! I am your dad." HE said and Madhu giggled. "Come soon baby. Papa cant wait to see you. "HE said caressing Madhu's stomach. Madhu looked at him as tears formed in her eyes. Rishabh looked at her with concern and said "Did I say something wrong Madhu? If I did, then please forgive me." HE said worried. "No. I just love you." She said hugging him and Rishabh wrapped his arms around her with a smile.
4 months later,
Rishabh picked up his phone with a smile and said "Hey Madhu.." "Its not Mumma! Its me Papa!" Ansh said as he cried. "Ansh? Champ, what's wrong?" Rishabh asked worried. "Dad! Mumma, she is not well." Ansh said crying. "What? Whats wrong with her?" Rishabh asked grabbing his car keys. "Her stomach is paining." Ansh said scaring Rishabh. "I am coming there Ansh. Just be there with her." Rishabh said and hanged up.
He hurriedly opened the main door with the key and ran towards his room. The door flung open as Madhu looked up at Rishabh with shock. Ansh was sleeping in Madhu's arms and Madhu slightly smiled at Rishabh."Madhu, are you fine?" Rishabh asked taking hurried steps towards her. She nodded slightly and he looked at her confused. "Then what was Ansh saying?" Rishabh asked. Madhu smiled as she gently made Ansh sleep on the bed and walked towards Rishabh. "Nothing happened. The baby just kicked." Madhu said blushing. "What?" Rishabh asked shocked. She gently nodded giggling. "I missed it." Rishabh said pouting. "Rishabh!This is not our first baby. Don't you remember how Ansh used to kick?" Madhu asked pointing towards Ansh. Rishabh chuckled and said "Yeah. Like a footballer." HE said and the two shared a hearty laugh.

Madhu rushed inside the washroom and bent over the sink. Rishabh immediately followed her worried. "Go away Rishabh." She said looking at him through the mirror. "I aint going anywhere Madhu." He said as he held her hair aside. She rinsed her mouth and washed her face. He picked her up and walked out of the washroom. He slowly placed her down on the bed and she smiled. Just then Ansh ran into the room and looked at Madhu. Madhu raised her brow at him, confused. "Mumma, you have become fat!" He said shocking both Madhu and Rishabh. "Mumma, my friend said that yoy are fat. And I couldn't even say anything! Why are you so fat Mumma?" Ansh asked angrily. Rishabh looked at Madhu as tears began to form in her eyes. "Ansh, go to your room now. "Rishabh said sternly and Ansh ran to his room.
Madhu stood in front of the mirror as she looked at herself from all angles. "I am fat!" She said as tears rolled down her cheeks. "No Madhu, that's just because of your pregnancy. And trust me, you look cute." Rishabh said caressing her face. "No! Ansh is ashamed of me." She said sobbing. "No Madhu, he is not. Trust me he will be very happy when our baby will be here. And you don't look bed at all." HE said as he kissed her forehead. She hugged him as she let her tears fall freely. "You are the most beautiful woman in the whole world Madhu. And Ansh, he is just a kid. He didn't mean it." HE said wiping her tears. "I love you Rishabh." She said with a smile and he placed his lips on hers.

"Ahhh...Rishabh!" Madhu said clutching her stomach as they took her to the operation theatre. "Shh..Nothing's going to happen Madhu. Relax." He said ruffling her hair. Madhu closed her eyes tightly as they took her inside the operation theatre while Rishabh and Ansh sat outside. "Papa. Mumma will be fine na?" Ansh asked as tears rolled down his cheeks. "She will be fine Champ." Rishabh said taking him in his arms. An hour later, the operation light went out and a loud cry was heard. Rk's lips automatically curved into a smile as he quickly got up. "Papa! Why is Mumma crying like that?" Ansh asked tugging on his hand. "Its your sister Champ. Or a brother." Rishabh said chuckling. "Really?" Ansh asked excited and Rishabh nodded. The doctor walked out of the operation theatre and Rishabh immediately walked towards her. "It's a girl." He said with a smile. Rishabh was ecstatic.
"Can I go meet Madhu?" He asked excited and the doctor nodded smiling. The nurse handed over Madhu's daughter to her as she gently held it. Rishabh walked inside with a smile as Ansh ran behind him. Madhu looked up at Rishabh and smiled as he caressed his daughter's face with his finger. Rk looked up at Madhu and whispered "I love you ." She smiled as he handed him over their daughter.
"Papa, give me!" Ansh said as he started jumping. Rishabh smiled as he bent down. "Wow!" Ansh said as he gently touched the baby's cheek. Madhu smiled as she looked at Ansh. "So, what should be her name?" Madhu asked looking at Rishabh. "Umm..I don't know. What do you think?" Rishabh said. "Mumma! I know! What about Aarushi?" He said. Rishabh turned towards and said "Ahaan. Nice name champ. But how did you know that?" He asked smirking. "Papa!" Ansh said as his cheeks turned red and Madhu chuckled.

5 years later,
"Mumma!" Aarushi screamed at the top of her lungs. Rishabh chuckled as Madhu got up. "Five." She said as she walked out of the room. Rishabh chuckled as he watched her leave. "What now?" She asked looking at Aarushi. "Mumma! This Ansh, he isn't giving my doll." Aarushi complained. "Ansh, give her that doll baby." Madhu said. "No! First ask her to call me Bhai." Ansh said looking away. Madhu smiled and said. "Aarushi, Ansh is elder na. So you shouldn't call him by his name sweetie. Call him bhai, ok?" Madhu said. "But mumma.." Aarushi said. "Please darling?" Madhu requested. "Fine." She said looking away. "Give me my doll. BHAI." She said emphasizing on that word. Madhu chuckled seeing her tantrums. Ansh smiled and handed her over the doll. Madhu smiled and walked towards her room.
"What happened now? " Rishabh asked chuckling as Madhu sat down sighing. "I am tired of their fights. This was the fifth time Aarushi called me. I am so tired!" Madhu complained. Rishabh pulled her closer and said "I could have gone there on your place. But you know, Aarushi hardly listens to her Papa." Rishabh said chuckling. "Just like Ansh doesn't listen to his mumma." Madhu said as she laughed. "Whatever it is, they are our SUGAR CUBS." Rishabh said making Madhu smile.
PS. So that's it Vinu Di. 😆 I hope u dont regret asking me to write this Anyways, I wont say much today, coz i know you would be already bored with my lectures, all i would say is that I Love You, like hell! And i will be there for you...forever. ❤️

Bdw. I proofread it this time. And the title is Sugar Cubs and not Sugar Cubes. Cubs refers to the young one of a lion 😆
