PART 44

"She will be fine. Don't worry Rishabh.", Dr Shefali replied. Madhu lay on the bed in the end of Dr Shefali's room. She was asleep after the medication. "It was just a panic attack. But please make sure you avoid such situations in future. It will ultimately affect her during her later pregnancy stages.", the Doctor muttered. Her voice echoed in my ears as my eyes fixated on my sleeping angel. She looked calm, her lips were curved into a soft smile. My lips curved into a smile as I watched her twitch in her sleep. "You can take her home when she wakes up.", she said. "Can I take her now. I want her to wake up in a more comfortable environment?", I asked her. "As you wish, Rishabh! Should I get the stretchers?", she said. "I'll hold her?", I said. She smiled, "Sure you would. You can take her medicines from the counter. Good luck!", she smiled and resumed her rounds. I gently walked to her and slipping my hands below her chest and waist, I scooped her in my arms. "Will.", I whispered as I came out of the clinic. He was standing right outside. "Car's ready?", I asked. "Sir!", he nodded. "I'll need no private vehicles near my car. Make sure.", I said. "Yup sir!", he nodded. I walked to the car and gently left Madhu on the seat. Holding my right arm wide, I let her head drop on my shoulder for support and then wrapped my forearm around her. "You are going to be fine", I whispered kissing her hairs. She twitched and clutched my coat, like she always did. The car moved and we reached home. I put her to bed and came out. My crew stood there, waiting for my orders. "We are shifting.", I said pocketing my hands in my jeans. "Back to Brisbane, Sir?", Will questioned. "Nope, that would be too easy. Get the topmost broker in Sydney. I need to know what auctions are taking place, in properties sector", I walked to and fro. "No one should ever come to know about my address. EVER.", I emphasised. "Sir!", they replied. "And that Rihan guy, make sure you give him enough money and send him away from Sydney. I don't want him near Brisbane or Sydney.", I said. "Threaten him, force him...its upon you!" I rubbed my nose anxiously.

"Threaten who?", her voice sounded from our room. I turned and saw her standing.

"Disperse please!", I flicked my fingers. "How do you feel?", I asked. "Fine. Am I ok? Is our baby?", she asked. "Everything is fine, Madhu. We need to talk?", I raised a brow. "About Rihan!", she sighed and shifted her gaze to the window. "Why did you not...", I sighed. "I am sorry, Rishabh. But I wanted to make sure that he...", she started and got up from the bed. "...is not here to hurt you again.", she ended. I looked at her in surprise. "Really?", I blurted out. "Yes. I couldn't let him near you. He had already damaged you...once!", she sighed caressing her belly and gazing at the window. "And what if he was here to hurt me...how could you risk...", I argued. "I am not afraid of anyone, Rishabh. You know that! I can't be threatened or subdued. I am Madhubala Mallick...err I mean Madhubala Rishabh Kundra. I am stronger than you assess me.", she winked. My lips curved into a smile. I felt the involuntary action. "You should have...", I clicked my tongue. "Dude! I know what this is. This thing...", she tapped her belly. "This makes everyone think I am just a pregnant little woman. Rishabh, I can take care of myself.", she flicked her hair. I chuckled. I stretched my arm and held her hand and pulled her to me. Her hands rested on the table I took support on. "Jungli ho tum...", I told her...caressing her hair and pulling her lips into mine. "I know...", she chuckled and moved back. "Coffee?", she asked as she walked out of the room. "Yup.", I said.

---

We sat on the dining table drinking coffee and talking. "How did you know where I was?", I asked.

"Will. Your loyal employee.", she winked.

"He tells me whenever you go overboard.", she grinned.

"I went overboard...today?", I protested.

"How much did you drink??", she glared.

I cleared my throat. "I am sober.", I shrugged.

"I can see that", she chuckled.

"I got eyes and ears looking out for you, under my command", she said proudly.

"I get it. You hungry??", I asked.

"A bit...I'll have to eat, anyways. This little thing needs food.", she looked down at her belly. I smiled and walked to the fridge. There was some bacon. I made bacon and salad and served them for dinner. After dinner, we crashed the bed.

---

A few months later.

We shifted to a new house, outside the main town. This was a huge 6-storey building and one could view the buildings and city of Sydney from the 6th floor rooms. It was quarantined, strictly. No one could enter the premises without being duly examined. I made sure nothing could get to Madhu. Nothing.

She was due next week. Maa had flown to Sydney to be with her during the delivery. Even Padmini Maa was reaching here next week. Madhu had been having those panic attacks since a week. The idea of a Caesarian Delivery was panicking her. Dr. Shefali had mentioned that there had been complications regarding baby's position off-late. Its head wasn't favouring a normal birth. And as such, Madhu's health issues had made it important that the baby was a Caesarian. I tried to get her out of the trauma of having her belly slit. I wondered if her anxiety would make it impossible to deliver the baby on the right time. "Sir!", Will called. I came back from my thoughts and looked at him. He was here with a few files. I went through them. Madhu was in her room, packing her stuff for the hospital with Maa.

"Rishu!", Maa called a while later. I kept my coffee mug down and turned to her. "Yes Maa!". She looked at our room. I nodded understanding her gesture and carrying my Coffee Mug, I went into the room. She stood at the window, looking at the sky scrappers. "Hey!", I coughed. She turned with a jerk, "Hi!", she faked a smile. I walked to her and stood, brushing my shoulder at hers. "You ok?", I asked.

"Umm...hmm!", she answered without paying much attention.

"Madhu?", I called out louder.

"Yeah! Bolo.", she broke her gaze and looked at me.

"Are you ok?", I asked again. Her eyes welled up. She shook her head in a no. I kept my mug on the side table and stepped ahead to pull her in my arms. She hid herself in my chest and those warm tears wetted my shirt. I cleared her hairs off her cheek and caressed them. "It is going to be just fine.", I whispered kissing her hairs. "I haven't been in an OT before!", she moaned.

"Its alright. I'll be inside. Ok?", I assured.

"Rishabh. They'll cut through my skin. It is going to hurt.", she looked at me with red eyes. I cupped her face. "You'll be fine", I told her. "I can't do it.", she refused. "What about your baby?", I asked her. She stared at me blankly. "It'll die in there, right?", she looked at me with scared eyes. "Not if you birth it!", I told her.

She gulped her tears, "Hmm...I have to. I can't let it go!", she touched her belly. I smiled. She was still a sweet kid inside. "Be brave, Mrs Kundra! You got a broken soul like me, mended. You can do anything!", I winked. She chuckled and threw herself around my neck. I smiled and moved my hand over her hairs.

---

After a few days,

It was time. Madhu had to be admitted to the Hospital today. We were done with the packing, and Maa, Madhu and Padmini Maa stood by the temple to pray for one last time before they left for the hospital. Madhu took the blessings and all of us proceeded to the Hospital. Madhu could hardly walk for more than a few meters so I got her a wheelchair. "I already look like a patient!", she cringed. We entered the Hospital and Will and I went to the reception to do the formalities while the ladies waited.

"That way, Sir! We have opened that corridor for Mrs Kundra", the nurse directed us. I told Madhu, Maa and Padmini Maa to proceed and make themselves comfortable while I signed the documents. "No visitors, apart from Mr Will, and Madhubala Kundra's immediate family.", I warned the receptionist. "And there are two more people, Maria and Adams. These would be from Brisbane. If they are here, they can be allowed in.", I added. She carefully noted.

"RK!", a familiar voice sounded from the end of the corridor. I frowned as I recognized it. "Rihan!", I gritted my teeth together as Will stopped him from walking. Rihan held a bouquet in his hand. "One minute, RK please!", he begged. "One minute.", I assured him and dragged him away from Madhu's vicinity.

"60 seconds, speak Rihan!", I said.

"I am sorry. Please. I cannot justify my behavior and I will not. I am sorry.", he offered the bouquet. "Congratulations Bhai! I am so happy for you!", he said.

I loosened up a bit. "Thanks!", I took the flowers. "Have a great life, Rishabh!", he smiled. "You're going?", I asked. "Yeah. I am.", he said.

"Where? If I may ask?", I said.

"No idea! Somewhere I can start afresh!", he said. "I destroyed us!", he added. I felt a lump in my throat. There stood my best friend of 20 years. We had grown up together and today we stood like strangers.

"Goodluck, Rihan!", I said. He smiled and turned to leave.

"Rihan!", a voice sounded from behind me! I turned around and saw Madhu standing. Rihan had stopped.

"Care to see your best friend's baby before leaving? Don't want to know if it's a niece or a nephew?", she winked. I felt like running to my girl and hugging her tight. "How did you?", I asked.

"Maa wheelchair-ed me here. She is waiting inside. But where is he going!", she pointed at Rihan. "Away!", I said.

"Rihan. Stay with your friend. Please.", she said and turned around to leave. I moved ahead to escort her but remembered that Rihan still stood there. I turned to him and he was much closer. "Thanks, Bhabhi!", he said. Madhu turned to him and smiled and left. "And you judged HER!", I smirked at Rihan. "I am sorry, Rishabh. I really am.", he dropped his head. I patted his shoulder and went behind Madhu. As she turned towards the room, I turned around and saw Rihan at the door. I walked back to him. "Can we?", he pointed outside. I loosened my tie. "Hmm...", I nodded and followed him out. We walked in the Hospital garden. Half of my attention was on my phone. Should Madhu be in any pain, I had to be there for her.

"I came back to your house after all that happened.", Rihan started the conversation.

"Hmm. I had moved out.", I replied looking away. Those memories became fresh in my mind. "Rihan! How could you possibly, consider the idea that MY dad killed your's?", I asked.

"Rishabh, you know how all this feels like. Loosing someone so close to you, you cannot help but reason. I couldn't agree to the fact that he went away because of his age. My heart never believed that. And when Sahil told me, about this...that part of my brain just resurfaced and starting seeing things the way he wanted to show me.", he said.

"But, MY dad killing your dad? The seeds of this thought must be there. How else could you believe so easily."

"Rishabh, I have no idea. Seriously. I was affected when my father went away. And then, maybe I was not satisfied with our status."

"WHAT?", I blurted out.

"I dunno buddy. I was young and stupid and reckless. Maybe that was the reason I always saw you as my boss more than my BFF."

"That is weird. Because to me, you were my ONLY friend.", I smirked.

"When I betrayed you, and watched you suffer, I realized that I was just insecure and immature. When I saw you in handcuffs, I realised how much I wanted to get you out of it.", he continued.

"And how exactly am I to trust you again?", I stopped walking and asked.

"I don't want you to trust me. I just want you to forgive me. I'll earn your trust again. I swear.", he said.

This Rihan reminded me of my BFF. The one who was lost in the sands of time. I moved forward and hugged him lightly. He reciprocated the hug and I felt like y brother from another mother was back! "You should go. Bhabhi must be waiting.", he broke the hug and sniffed his nose. "You take care!", I said putting my hand on his shoulder. "You too buddy.", he smiled. "I hope we can find our way back together!", he added. "I will look forward to that!", I patted him and turned around. After moving a few steps ahead, I turned around. Rihan was walking away in darkness. "Rihan!", I called. He stopped and turned. "Have a happy life, brother!", I yelled. He waved and left. I sighed and went back to the Hospital. In the room, Madhu had gone to sleep. The doctor was checking her pulse and BP. "Is she ok?", I asked. "Yeah! Looks so! We'll take the readings before the delivery early morning", the Doctor said and left. I sat on the bed by her side and watched her sleep. She was a beautiful fairy. I closed my eyes and slept off on the couch

I was scared something will happen to madhu & the baby or atleast Rk will be mad at Madhu for hiding abt Rihan's mail... But gladly nothing of such sort happened...
Rk understood why Madhu did that... She was scared for her husband... She just protected him from being hurt again... Like how Rk wants to protect Madhu from all harm... They r progressing in their relation... Their love his deepening... Happy to see them as happy couple..

Aww... Strong brave Madhu is actually scared of giving birth... C'mom Madz! The baby will just pop out any minute.. So u dont have to worry...

Eager to know whether the baby is a boy or a girl or twins...

Loved the place where Madhu asked Rihan to meet his best friend's child before leaving... See man! She is a sweet soul...

Rk & Rihan united... & hope with time become BFF again..
Thanks! Looking forward to read next...

Thank u so much for coming back and giving this wonderful update!!
This story is intriguing!! I just read this story two months ago. Spent whole day just reading it from morning to late night. Every part, just wow!! You've penned RK's character differently, yet love him a lot. And Madhu, independent, strong girl, just love her character!! Their story, ups and downs, everything love them a lot!!

This update: RK's love seems deep here!! He is caring, protective!! Now, they are like normal loving husband and wife. They came a long way!! Glad that their relationship is smooth now. Madhu hiding about Rihan's mails didn't create any misunderstanding, so happy for that!!! Baby isn't normal!! Hope everything becomes fine!! That scene when Rishab consoled Madhu when she was crying scaring about giving birth was so great!!
And RK- Rihan scene!! Glad they are reunited!! Madhu!! She came in the right time!! Seriously, Rihan doubted this loving soul??

In brief, love this story a lot!!! Feeling too much happy reading it!!
