In Actors and the show that placed them in the BIG LEAGUE'; spamdomain brings you some of the superstars of TV-pur and the shows that made them the star they are today.

One Hit TV show is all that takes to change an actor's fortune. So which is the show that took Gujarati belle Drashti Dhami to stardom and placed her in the big league? The answer to this question is easy and unanimous and one that every DD fan out there will agree to. It's Geet Hui Sabse Parayi'.

Though Drashti debuted on TV with Star One's popular youth show Dill Mill Gayye as Dr. Muskaan Chadda it was her portrayal of Geet Handa that drew a lot of attention. In a time when prime time heroines were mainly confined to doing saas-bahu sagas, what made Drashti stand apart from majority of her contemporaries was the social message associated with her first show.

Geet Hui Sabse Parayi was a cult show and Drashti's popularity reached soaring heights and made the dazzling diva a household name in no time. She wooed the audience by playing the happy-go-lucky Punjaban who initially was a victim of the wrong choices made by her elders to eventually emerging as a fighter in life to perfection.

One of the most talented and versatile actresses we have had in recent times Drashti dhami is one of the few actors who can be accredited with flawless acting and a pro at bringing subtle nuances to the role she essays. When Drashti slipped into the skin of Geet she made it impossible for the viewers to not feel what the character was experiencing.

GHSP made Drashti Dhami an overnight sensation and placed her in the hearts of millions of viewers all over the globe where she continues to rule.

Tfs, was a nice article, though I bacame her fan in MB, but still lve her both as Geet as well as Madhu. But would say love more as geet because that was a stronger character unlike our MB who was made a doormat by our beloved ST and AS.

She was outstanding as Geet :) A very rare character and many shades, but I think Madhubala was no less. It just wasn't developed by the writers and was ruined instead.
