But does that give Raja the right to force her and act as if it was a menial private family matter?Yes, JM is not ready to accept the marriage, behave the way a wife does, respect his parents and all. So why does he not let her go? You cannot force someone to love/like you. Let her go and be done with it. Deal with the heartbreak by considering it your bad luck.
Some might say it is because of his belief in the institution of marriage. Marriage is a vow taken by both the parties. It cannot be enforced single handed by one person. It is a merger not an acquisition.
Rape is pure violence. I refuse to connect it with izzat, self respect and sundry. Raja might not have willingly inflicted violence on JM but he is also not shown ashamed of having done it.
If Raja is right then so are the terrorists who inflict violence and death upon those who refuse to follow their way of thinking. Afterall it is the principle of my way or the highway.
PS: Please do not confuse VD with Raja. VD is a professional who has done his job. Almost all big actors have done such roles. Eg. Shahrukh in Anjaam, Darr etc. If VD is responsible for playing the abuser then DD has always been equally responsible for playing the abused. You cannot bash people for doing their job. My request is look at the post from the point of characters and not actors.
Anothet point if JM had been lying NF would not have been giving tweets on women rights. Also they need sympathy for the female protagonist not hatred
