Thank you to Siddhi for posting this on IF when I wasn't here. But since I'm back, I decided to post here. Also thank you to Siddhi and Hina for the inspiration for this SS.
PART 1
High school. It's a place I dread yet adore all at the same time. Why do I dread it? Because I'm that girl that sits alone at lunch, has only one friend that doesn't even go to my school, and I never get noticed. I guess it would be nice to have some attention from time to time but I'm quite sure that no one even knows that I exist. Why do I adore it then? For obvious reasons of course. I adore it because it's a place to learn. Yes, I'm your typical, clich nerd. I love learning. Whether it is about science, math, or even some other course that is of no importance to me in my life. I enjoy working my brain to the most of its ability. My life revolves around school...which was until I saw him. Now, don't take me wrong. I didn't drop my school for this random guy. I still stuck to thinking about school but let's just say that he began invading my thoughts as well. I knew I had no chance but I couldn't help from thinking about him or staring at him from afar. There was just something about this guy that kept grabbing my attention. I was okay with daydreaming about him while in class because I was certain that he didn't know I existed either, just like the rest of my grade. Oh, that's right, my grade. I'm a junior...and he's a senior. So how do I have a few classes with him? I went ahead with my courses so I was taking two senior courses, which he just happened to be in! Anyways, how about I get to telling you how our story goes down. That's right...this is our story.
-----------
One morning, I was the first one to class, like usual, and I took my seat right in front of the professor's desk. It was a minute after I settled in that I heard footsteps coming through the door. I looked up from my notes only to see him walking in. He wore a black jacket with dark jeans, paired with a couple of black, husky looking shoes. I didn't even realize he had stopped in his steps while I looked him up and down. As my eyes landed upon his face, I saw his eyes stuck on me. I instantly felt self-conscious. I pushed up at my glasses, swallowed, and stared back down at my notes as I felt my face flush red. I heard his feet again, this time approaching me. It wasn't until I saw his figure in front of me that I decided to look up. He stared down at me with a smirk that was to die for. His disheveled hair and mischievous eyes almost made me fall into a trance until he spoke, distracting me with his to-die-for voice instead.
"What's your name?"
I blinked, a slow blink, and then preceded to look around me to make sure he was actually speaking to me.
"Yes, I'm speaking to you."
"M...me?"
"Who else? I don't see anyone else standing around here, do you?"
I shook my head slowly and gulped.
"So, what is it?"
"Madhu...Madhubala."
"Huh...Madhubala...ahaan. That's quite a beautiful name."
I felt like pinching myself but didn't want to make a fool of myself in case it wasn't a dream. I just couldn't believe that the dark, mysterious senior that I was crushing on secretly was actually speaking to me.
"You?" I managed to speak out shyly and quietly while pushing up at my glasses again.
"Rishabh. Feel free to call me RK though, I'd rather prefer if you did."
I nodded my head and smiled while feeling my cheeks go on fire.
"You blush pretty."
He spoke so naturally...like every word that flowed out of his mouth was magic. The minute he said it, I felt butterflies awaken and begin to flutter around in my stomach in synch with my racing heart.
"Thank you..."
I glanced down smiling and blushing like a little girl again. I hadn't even noticed what time it was until he spoke again.
"What are you doing here anyways?"
"Huh?"
"There are no classes today."
I looked to the big clock to my right. The time had already passed nine, which meant that he was right. I stood up.
"I thought...I thought there was class today!"
He chuckled a low chuckle.
"Nah."
"Wait, then what are you doing here?"
"I like to be alone at times. I come here on days off. But I don't mind your company."
I was just in the middle of packing my backpack when I froze up. I slowly glanced back up at him.
"Sorry?"
"You're cool."
"I uhm..."
"I'm not stopping you. You're free to leave."
I stared at him for a moment. He stared back with a deadly smirk. I knew he meant trouble, but for some reason I felt the need to stay back. I felt some eerie connection to him, which made me instantly change my mind. I zipped up my backpack and put it over my shoulder. He stepped back and let me walk past him. I was about to walk through the door when I decided to take one glance back. His intent eyes were on me, as though he were trying to figure something out about me. It was a look of confusion but frustration at the same time that shot through me...as if I was the one with the secrets, not him. I quickly turned back around and rushed away from the classroom.
