madhu opened her eyes and whispered " rishabh..."
suddenly the whole room froze... because no one including rishabh ever thought that something like this would happen... no one had expected madhu to say rishabh's name...
madhu was trying to see the faces of the people around her but her vision was blurred. she rubbed her eyes and saw at the man who was holding her hand; abhay and at the other side was her mother who was in tears...
abhay : its abhay...
madhu realised that she had just said rishabh's name instead of abhay's.
madhu : abhay actually...
mahesh : are you ok madhu...??
madhu : dad... i am fine...
madhu looked around the room and it seemed familiar. the moment she saw her scarf wrapped around a teddy (that she gifted rishabh on his birthday, because she liked taht stuff toy) on the corner table, she smiled.
madhu : dimpy...
rishabh was looking at his angel and smiled when he saw that she recognised that teddy. he was smiling with tears in his eyes.
abhay, mahesh and anaita were hell confused. they saw madhu looking at the soft toy and saying dimpy while smiling... they were just trying to figure out what was so fascinating in that lifeless soft toy.
abhay : what are you blabbering...?? look at me madhu... that lifeless teddy is not important... its me who should be of utmost importance to you...
madhu placed herself comfortably on the bed with her back resting against the headboard.
madhu turned her face towards abhay and said " abhay it- " and her voice broke as she her eyes fall on someone she was yearning to see from the last 3 years...
madhu : rishabh...
rishabh's head shot up as he heard madhu calling his name... he was thinking that he was right... no matter how much they ever loved each other... but now it was all over.. madhu has moved on in her life... he could see love in abhay's eyes for madhu...
madhu immedaitely freed her hand from abhay and tried getting up from the bed...
mahesh : thank u mrs. n mr. kundra... i think we should take our leave... cmon madhu lets go back home...
anaita : yes baby... dad is right...
madhu looked at anaita mentally pleading her to stop mahesh and atleast give her few minutes to talk to rishabh... madhu then looked at abhay hoping he would understand her as he was her friend first...
abhay lowered his head and madhu knew that abhay wouldnt be able to do so... already he was broken and now if she asked him for one more favour, he would shatter into pieces.
mahesh : we are waiting outside... abhay bring madhu to the car...
abhay : dad why dont u leave with mom...??? i need to talk to madhu first... we will come back after sometime
mahesh : we can go home and then talk... why do u want to talk here abhay...???
abhay : because its important and it cannot wait... dad i would appreciate if you could excuse us...
mahesh understood that something was wrong and abhay wouldnt leave without sorting out things... he turned around to leave when he saw rishabh standing near the door and said " ofcourse you can talk... after all she is your lawfully wedded wife... you have every right on her... "
rishabh saw at mahesh with disgust as he understood that mahesh said it just to hurt him even more...
mahesh n anaita left from there.
abhay turned around and saw rishabh almost in tears and his mom n dad in the other corner of the room...
abhay looked towards rishabh's parent and said " can you please excuse us...?? only if u dont mind as its your house..."
raj : sure... why would we mind...?? right radha...???
radha : right...
radha and raj went outside the room and rishabh was about to leave when abhay said "why are you leaving now...???"
rishabh : are you talking to me...???
abhay : yes.. i am talking to you mr. rishabh kundra... could you please close the door...???
rishabh : sure...
rishabh closed the door and in the meanwhile madhu's eyes were not ready to leave rishabh even for a second.
abhay : you must be wondering how do i know you or your name even though we have never met before... i know you rishabh... i have seen your face everytime i look into my wife's eye... i have listen your name everytime i go near my wife... you never left from our life... do u hear me...??? you never left... you were always there.. always... for god sake you are the bloody reason that we still dont have any relation between us... we dont share a relation that a husband and a wife share... and u know why...??? because my wife loves you... mahesh uncle threw you out of madhu's life but he forgot to threw you out of her mind and her heart... you both love each other and but the hell i am doing here between you two... why the hell my life is being spoiled...?? though i married the love of my life but i could never get loved back in return... why...??? because she loved you and you loved her in a way that still after 3 years she couldnt get over you...
madhu : abhay plss...
abhay : today only i will speak... you will stay quiet n listen...
rishabh : i think u both should sort out things... i should leave...
abhay : what is the use of leaving when there is nothing left to sort out...??? we are over with this marriage... tell him madhu why did u leave the house yesterday night... tell him what happend last night... tell him that u left the house after we had an argument...
rishabh : what...??
abhay : yeah argument... isnt it a good news...?? she left the house and came back to you... wait a minute, i want to tell you a secret... madhu remember that night...
rishabh clenched his fingers into a fist the moment he heard abhay talking about some night...
madhu lowered her head and stared at the bedsheet...
abhay : you know rishabh... 3 yrs ago, i came back from canada, and got married to madhu... i was too happy... it was our first night when madhu told me that she can never love me bcos she loves somebody else.. i accepted that and happily gave her as much time as she wanted. i was always her friend first and then her husband. we were a happily married couple for all but the reality was something very different. we lived in the same room, slept on the same bed but... but something was always missing... two years... two long years passed by and nothing changed.. but slowly i saw the madhu was coming back to her normal self... she used to laugh with me and fight with me the way we used to be when we were kids. i was then satisfied with my life and there was a ray of hope that i would get the love that i deserved. everything was ok between us till the last week... we came back late from a party and i was drunk... i came close to madhu and surprisingly she didnt stop me even once. we kissed for the first time and then i kissed her neck and she ran her fingers in my hair and moaned your name... "rishabh.." i realised our closeness at your name and angrily went out of the room... cmon how can a man live like this...?? wouldnt it hurt when the person you love from the bottom of your heart loves someone else... i just cannot live with a woman like her... (pointing at madhu who was just weeping quietly...) who marries me but loves you... who kisses me and moans your name... i just cannot take it... i have finally decided... we are over... i want a divorce...
madhu looked at abhay and held his hand...
madhu : please dont do this... you cannot leave me like this... what about our marriage...?? abhay last night i left the house just to avoid this divorce topic... i dont want to divorce you... i was hurt... abhay i didnt come here intentionally... i was walking on the desolate road and i dont know when i fainted... abhay dad would never understand... plsss...
abhay : my decision is not going to change... madhu when you love him, what is the use of us two being together...??? tell me... we are not meant for each other and honestly speaking i am sick n tired of living like this and trying of making this marriage work out... you should be with him.. and he loves you...
rishabh : abhay i dont want to come in between you two... you should give your marriage a second chance...
abhay : why dont u both give your love a second chance...???
rishabh and madhu immediately looked at each other and they had an eye lock... abhay noticed it and clicked his fingers...
abhay : see you both still have that spark... u both love each other and trust me you both can never love anybody else in this whole lifetime... you both are meant to be... unknowingly i came between you two but not now... i want to rectify my mistake and would reunite you... i promise...
madhu : abhay...
abhay : chup Maddy (from childhood, abhay used to call madhu maddy )
madhu got up from the bed and hugged him...
madhu : i wish i could give you your share of happiness abhay... i never wanted to hurt you... i tried but i couldnt make myself love you... i couldnt forget rishabh... he is my first and my last love... (madhu looked at rishabh...)
abhay : now get off me... eat your rishabh's brain... i am tired of you eating my brain all day...
madhu scrunched her nose and glared at abhay...
abhay turned around wiped his tears and went towards rishabh...
abhay : sorry dude... sorry for whatever i said...
rishabh : its okk... infact i am sorry as well...
abhay : oh cmon you shouldnt be sorry... you are not at fault... its destiny...but now take care of my friend... she loves you very much...
rishabh : i know... thanks...
rishabh overwhelmed with emotions hugged abhay... and abhay hugged him back... even though it was hurting abhay beyond words but he could separate two people who are madly in love...
abhay : i think i should leave... i will bring the divorce papers in the evening.. till then take care madhu...
madhu : hmm...
