I think all these popular faces only bring online fans mostly, sure Jhalak was won but fans which aren't prevalent online for GC and Drashti but people that watch TV go by a good story then they watch. Also the story has to be family entertainment (some light comedy moments) not all intense and negative for long periods of time.

the thing i hated in MB was the villains always got away with everything they did with out guilt!!
Dips was never punished infact RK used to get touchy with her n i dint like that at all!! rest of the villain's never had realizations too!!
i know it is cliched but punishing vamps is soo much fun!!

I read something just now that ST should have just taken a model which had Superstar looks and he could learn his craft on the job over the next few weeks. What do you think about this, do you think this suggestion holds any merit?

I thought about it, and it's true lots of newcomers taken by Star Plus prove themselves on the job, and we've seen so many behind the scenes videos of Madhubala now, and what do we see, retake after retake by both VD and DD both, not concentrating or perhaps not getting the directors instructions properly, finally after many retakes they get the right shot and the director is satisfied and perhaps that's why they work for so long too...my point in mentioning this with existing actors already is a newcomer like a model can be given the same allowances the established actors are given and at least he would bring the handsome looks for us.

Speak honestly, if you had an option would you take someone that was a host that can deliver dialogue really well, with good expressions Gunjan Utreja but isn't handsome or get a model instead who is handsome and learns on the job over the next few weeks, that you are anxious to see everyday and count the hours and minutes to the next episode?

i thought ST always went for an actor with fan following and there were known actors in the list who auditioned so them selecting GU was completely a surprise for me becoz he was no hero material!! GU gave 5 look tests before he was finalized so there should be sumthing in him that makers have selected him n i ll wait to see what it is!! clearly they r investing a lot post leap on good cast too!!

Also i heard PB and the channel wants the show to work so nautanki are forced to concentrate on the show!! for now MB is not going off air!!

You know you are not the only one about Dipali my friend said the same she a bhabhi coming onto her devar in that way how can families watch such a show with kids watching and asking questions, impossible so the CV's are making a show for grown ups and who watches TV is it those TRP aunties with their kids?

I felt the villains winning for ages, Pabho look at her she got retribution track after she made Madhu suffer for so long, no backfires, they could have had a light comedy moment where her plans backfired making it a slight relief for viewers from the negativity, instead they kept her regal and left the place with her head held high. They went with the Guruji predictions of Madhu being a vinaash for all men, imagine supporting something like that, surely in religion they has to be a remedy for bad luck...the shows that are successful don't make the heroine a manhoos, and also put the blame on her for killing people etc etc, the women that watch these shows identify with the woman but they need to feel the woman is acting as they would act, Madhu Snr didn't act in the right way when she first met Sultan even, she could have been running in the other direction instead of befriending him and Aryan because she'd been through something traumatic, she would avoid men like the plague, similarly when going to work on the set with RK, she wouldn't be comfortable even to see his face again, as it would remind her how much he hurt her. So I felt the CV's were missing a woman or women to help them write the story...but the last story had a lot of problems, I've just listed a few of the top of my head, but Mahabharat is safe viewing for people with families then MEIEJ with its bhabhi come ons to her devar, and impromptu hugging.

Frankly i would not have picked GU as the hero at all but now he is here n this dude has only shown improvement!!
i kinda think he ll do well in future too in the show n i have no regrets of having GU as the hero now!!

Oh I agree with you they didn't get someone that looks like him for the show to fail, they do intend to make a go of it, they've invested on well known supporting actors many of them too, the new revamp is not going to come cheap, all those locations etc, means more salaries.

AS RR is not working yet, they can't put all their eggs in one basket, they want MEIEJ to go on past March 2014, when they have the channel warning to increase TRP's.

But what do you think of the suggestion about getting a new face yes, but which was a model before hand?

Okay, I also feel as a host his dialogue delivery is spot on and so are his expressions, it's not the acting that's the problem, I just would have liked a new handsome face, perhaps a model could have done just as well as Gunjan Utreja in a few weeks, you know learn on the job, with the proper training by the director, as they seem to do with VD and DD too in the behind the scenes videos with their order order when they make a mistake and need to redo the scene.
