Rishabh and Madhu were now sitting in the waiting room. Both of them didnt know how to break that silence. Finally Rishabh decided that it was his turn. He turned to Madhu and said... "So what will u eat Malik."
"eat..."
"yes humans need to eat you know..."
Madhu chuckled hearing him. "Dont you want to eat at home..."
"I am..." Rishabh said looking into her eyes as he wanted to say 'I am Home' but stopped in between.
Madhu looked at him confused. While Rishabh just smiled at her "Nothing..."
Rishabh went to bring food. Both of them got some time to let the new developments sink in.
Rishabh returned with food and they both sat on the bed facing each other and ate their food.
"So srishti is your niece..."
"Yeah i did tell you right..." Madhu looked at him with an inquiring face.
"Yeah you did... but at first I thought she is your daughter..."Rishabh smiled at her naughtily.
Madhu looked at him shocked and then laughed... "It didnt occur to me at all it could have looked like that..."
Rishabh smiled at her... "yeah for that matter you look old, i was thinking that still you were quite late..."
Madhu looked at him scandalized. "Thats not funny RK.."
"I wasnt even joking..." Rishabh said trying to maintain a straight face.
Madhu threw an empty glass at him, and frowned at him. While Rishabh burst out laughing.
"well seriously Malik... why didnt you marry..?"
"I was waiting for you..." Madhu winked at him reminding him the same that he had said to her when she asked the same question. Rishabh broke into a smile and nodded his head at her silliness.
"Well on a serious note... You know na Kundru... Aajkal achhe ladke hain hi kahan... They just take things for granted. Specially after all this... you see.. guys cant understand a simple thing that I want to support my family. Specially after what happened with Riya I realised that trusting someone who comes along and behaves decently for a couple of months... its really easy for them u know... TRUST... Is something bigger..." She said thoughtfully...
Rishabh felt the depth of what she said and nodded his head. "So Jungli Billi has turned into philosophical billi..."Rishabh said as he tried to lighten up the mood.
Madhu giggled at that. Both of them kept having their random talks while they ate. With Madhu laughing in between and Rishabh smiled widely seeing her laugh.
When they finished eating Rishabh got up to leave. It was quite late by this time. Rishabh walked to the door unwillingly while Madhu followed him.
"okay then Malik... See you tomorrow?"
"Mr. Rishabh Kundra... Tomorrow is sunday..." Madhu chuckled at him as she reminded him.
"Of course I know that Madhu..."
"Are you expecting me to work on a sunday..." Madhu said in a low and pleading tone. " but RK i sent ma cz i thot i cud stay here late.." Madhu said panicking... Rishabh opened his mouth to speak but Madhu didnt let him speak. " wait... how can u make me work on a sunday... it so mean and.. and inhuman"
Rishabh finally intervened - "Wait Madhu... i said i would see u tomorrow because i will come here tomorrow..."
Madhu looked at him even more confused now. "you... here? "
" yeah... i have to say hello to uncle... u see he might feel bad if i dont come to see him" Rishabh said nodding his head thoughtfully. " Besides i have promised Srishti that I would be coming to meet her"
" ohhh ok" Madhu said though feeling a little disappointed that RK was not coming because of her but Srishti.
Rishabh waved her good night and went away.
During his drive home Rishabh kept on thinking about Madhu and her attitude towards life. She was not like him. She was seeing her father this way since last 6years but she didnt let this life overcome her spirit. She didnt loose with life. He felt proud of her and at the same time felt her pain.
He reached home and went to dadi. She was still waiting for him. " dadi... u dint sleep? "
"How could I sleep when I know my rishabh would be coming" Dadi replied smiling.
" i am sorry dadi..."
"Its okay beta... by the way what took u so long?" She asked knowing full well with whom he could be. She was just excited to know how Madhubala had changed him today, because the day Madhubala entered back in his life. dadi found him changing bit by bit everyday in a positive way.
" ohh Dadi.. I went with Madhu... I met her family today "
Dadi's eyes widened in shock...'Met her family' are things working out that fast...
" ohhh wait wait wait... i met her family like normally... no spices to it" Rishabh replied terrorised at his Dadi's reaction
Dadi smiled widely... "okay... i understand" she said approvingly.
Rishabh sat on the floor beside her bed while she started massaging his head " So how is her family"
" Dadi... its not only us who are in sorrow.. who have problems.. right? "
"Ofcourse not... Life challenges everybody in its own way" she said explaining to him... "is everything ok with Madhu?" She asked worriedly.
" well if u see her u may as well believe that she is one happy girl... but when i met her family... it wasnt exactly how i thought it would be... Her dad... he is in coma... for last 6 years..." he said sighing.
"Oohh... is that so... thats really sad... it must be so difficult for them" Dadi felt worried and grieved.
" it sure must be... but she is so.. so lively... remember i said to you that day that she won over me... but today i felt its not me.. she won over life... she stays so positive... supports her family... talks to her father like nothing is wrong... loves everything around her and u wont believe she even pranked me today... to take revenge for something i did 7years back... she is still such a kid..." Rishabh said laughing lightly at the end.
Dadi was listening to him and all this made her respect and love Madhu even more. She had thought Madhu would bring Rishabh back but now she felt he would also learn a lot from her.
When Rishabh went away dadi was thinking about Madhu and Rishabh, she felt that she was right... Rishabh really learnt something from her everyday and maybe today he had the most important lesson.

Next day when Rishabh entered the hospital and turned through the corridoor Srishti came running to him the same way she came a day before for Madhu. Rishabh bent down to pick her up. Srishti kissed him on cheek and said in a husky voice- "I was waiting for you..."
" ohhh my baby doll was waiting for me? "
Srishti nodded her head vigorously.
Rishabh gave her a chocolate box he had got for her - " I had to get this for my friend... " Rishabh said looking at her smiling.
Srishti cupped her cheeks surprised "I am your friend??"
" yes you are my beeessttt friend..."
Srishti bent towards him and gave him a bigger kiss. When they entered the waiting room Rishabh saw Madhu sitting on the bed and reading a book with glasses on her nose. Rishabh's lips broke into a smile but his thoughts were broken by something. Oh wait whats happening... as he came back from his lost senses, he found out Srishti fidgeting in his arms. He let her down. Srishti ran to her mother and kept the chocolate box on the table and said "Do you know mumma, He is my best friend..."
"Achhaaa...? And who is he?"
Srishti looked confused what to call him and looked at Rishabh who smiled at her confused look.
" Rishabh"
Srishti looked back at her mother happily.
Madhu looked up on hearing Srishti and saw Rishabh standing with his jeans and a casual shirt. ' oh my god... he has grown sexier... since we have met he has been in formal suits, i didnt knew that he could look sexier than that... But... ' Madhu was thinking to herself when Rishabh snapped in front of her.
Rishabh had realised that she was drooling over him he went forward and had snapped in front of her to wake her up..." Ahaaan... "
Madhu got embarrassed and a blush crept over her face. But Madhu couldnt loose it so easily... so she reverted back " Kundru... what have u done of urself... u have really grown old... i can see that.." she said nodding her head in disappointment.
" yeah... u r rite" Rishabh said as if he was upset over that fact... " so old that MALIK is droooling over me... " he said with an evil smirk.
Madhu was taken aback... " Drool... Over you... Hah!! In your dreams Kundru "
" Riya... Is it a dream going on...?"
Riya who was until now a silent spectator, was startled at her sudden involvement.
Rishabh looked at her smiling... and broke into laughter seeing her shocked expression.. " dont worry riya... its normal for both of us... in fact this converstaion is quite cordial.. hai na Malik? ". Madhu who was also laughing at her sister by now, nodded in agreement.
" Now if you please excuse me, I have to take Srishti for an ice cream..."
Srishti got delighted hearing him... she started jumping. Rishabh picked her up and went away.
"How did you ever resist him di..." Riya said looking at him with dreamy eyes.
" You dont know Chhotu... "
" He is sooo hot..."
Madhu realised what her sister was saying and immediately reverted back " Oye... He is mine...!"
" ooo... Jealous... " Riya teased her...
Madhu made faces at her...
"Okay... have him all if you DESIRE him SOOO much..."
" Chhotu... dont you think you are speaking a bit too much..."
Riya laughed at her. "Well let Papa decide that... he must have seen all your ROMANCE" Riya said teasing her, but she didnt realise what struck on Madhu hearing that.
Madhu was shocked by hearing that. ' ohh no... Yesterday.. wen RK kissed my forehead and all that... papa was here... how could i do that... there's just a glass wall seperating the rooms... it so embarrassing... how will I face papa now...'
She ran to her father's room... " papa... i realize that u must be thinking something about yesterday... actually u see it was nothing... i was just emotional and he was comforting me... neither of us meant anything fishy... u understand what i am saying right..."
Riya who was standing behind now, came forward and held Madhu's shoulder, "Ofcourse di... papa wont think wrong about you... infact he would have been happy to see that atlast his Fighter has somebody to comfort her.. otherwise u never let anyone of us know your sorrows..."
Madhu looked at her teary eyed and hugged her. Riya hugged her back tightly. Madhu didnt know why she was getting so emotional.
"So you both were together yesterday... and he comforted you..." Riya said still hugging her.
" shut up chhotu"
"Did u both kiss?" Riya asked curiously.
" ammm " Madhu blushed at that.
"Oh my god... he kissed u..." Riya broke the hug and her eyes were wide with shock.
" oye dont think too much... it was just forehead... "
Riya relaxed hearing that. "I thought..."
" dont think too much chhotu... its not good for ur health... " Madhu looked at her with a warning look.
Riya smiled ear to ear. Riya hooked her hand around Madhu's neck.. " waise i would have asked for a treat in that case" Riya said naughtily.
" ohh great treat... count me in ladies..." Rishabh said as he entered the room. " By the way... what is it for, Malik?"
Madhu got horrified while Riya smiled naughtily..
"Well its not now... but yeah soon she will be giving the treat you see..." Riya said making a serious face.
Madhu glared at her.
Rishabh understood it was something regarding him because he was used to such things years before. He laughed at how time was turning back as Madhu entered his life.
" by the way how is Malik uncle... you sisters are soo talkative... i came to see him and you both didnt let me meet him..."
He walked forward to Malik's bed... " hello sir... i hope you r doing fine... "
He turned around to see Madhu and Riya looking at him..." Go both of you... why standing on my head... i wont complain about you... promise " he looked at them with an assuring expression.
Riya giggled and took Madhu away.
" Your daughters are really brave Mr. Malik... You are very lucky and i am actually envious of the two... i wish i had a spirit like them... You know... you should try... try to talk to them. They are really missing you... " Rishabh felt tears threatening his eyes. He wished Malik could hear him, he wished he could hear his daughters, his Madhu... Rishabh wanted to give Madhu everything... all happiness but this one thing he knew only Malik could do.
He controlled himself and went out. When he came to the waiting room. He saw Madhu sitting with Srishti and Srishti was giving her details of their short trip. "U know Maasi... Rishabh is my best friend" she said with pride.
" oh is it...? Rishabh is so lucky... "
Srishti giggled.
Rishabh looked at them and smiled. He didnt know why but his thoughts went to imagining Madhu sitting with their daughter. And he felt a satisfaction somewhere deep inside. Riya noticed him smiling and stood beside him "Yeah she is really beautiful..."
Rishabh turned to her sharply..." its nothing like that... i wasnt thinking that about Madhu "
"Madhu... I was talking about Srishti" Riya said trying to maintain an innocent face.
Rishabh was taken aback, but soon he broke into a smile with a YOU-ARE-ONE-DEVIL look in his eyes. Riya smiled back at him widely while blinking her eyes innocently.
As they sat back now talking about random subjects Riya noticed how strong their bond was. She realised that Madhu might have cursed him all her life but she had a spark in her eyes when she sees him while Rishabh admired her whenever she was looking away. Their was an evident affection from both the sides.
It had been quite sometime and Rishabh realised he should be going by now as it might feel awkward for him to stay any longer. He stood up though unwillingly " So I guess I should go now... will you come tomorrow Malik? "
" yeah... i will have to.. My boss is a strict one you see..."
" I think i will have to set your boss straight... " Rishabh said while tightening his fist.
Madhu laughed at him... " yeah i really think u should "
Rishabh smiled widely seeing her and waved them good bye.

Rishabh was in his car now. He was unusually merry that day, in fact he had been that way since a couple of days. He remembered how he had kissed Madhu's forehead. And he almost blushed and smiled at himself. The events of past few days were clouding his mind. He was having flashbacks of Madhu's smile, of her laughing at his jokes... he was feeling satisfied. He got flashback of how he hugged her when he broke down in front of her and he closed his eyes slowly, he felt HOME...

Madhu on the other side was sitting with the book in her hand, she was trying to read but couldnt focus on the words. She felt as if she had lost herself. On the book she could only see hers and Rishabh's times they spent together. She could see Rishabh smiling, Rishabh's frown and each of that moment when she had admired him, watched him when he didnt know. She smiled and hit her temple for her silliness.

Rishabh felt a pair of eyes looking at him very intently. He turned to the side and saw Madhu sitting on the passenger seat looking at her with dreamy eyes the same that he had caught her doing in the hospital. He raised his eyebrows in a gesture to ask her what is she looking at. But Madhu just bent towards him kissed him on his cheek. Rishabh jumped at the sudden gesture and found the passenger seat empty. He shook his head thinking how he made a fool of himself.

"Well its not now... but yeah soon she will be giving the treat you see..." Riya said making a serious face.
Madhu glared at her.
Rishabh understood it was something regarding him because he was used to such things years before. He laughed at how time was turning back as Madhu entered his life.
" by the way how is Malik uncle... you sisters are soo talkative... i came to see him and you both didnt let me meet him..."
He walked forward to Malik's bed... " hello sir... i hope you r doing fine... "
He turned around to see Madhu and Riya looking at him..." Go both of you... why standing on my head... i wont complain about you... promise " he looked at them with an assuring expression.
Riya giggled and took Madhu away.
" Your daughters are really brave Mr. Malik... You are very lucky and i am actually envious of the two... i wish i had a spirit like them... You know... you should try... try to talk to them. They are really missing you... " Rishabh felt tears threatening his eyes. He wished Malik could hear him, he wished he could hear his daughters, his Madhu... Rishabh wanted to give Madhu everything... all happiness but this one thing he knew only Malik could do.
He controlled himself and went out. When he came to the waiting room. He saw Madhu sitting with Srishti and Srishti was giving her details of their short trip. "U know Maasi... Rishabh is my best friend" she said with pride.
" oh is it...? Rishabh is so lucky... "
Srishti giggled.
Rishabh looked at them and smiled. He didnt know why but his thoughts went to imagining Madhu sitting with their daughter. And he felt a satisfaction somewhere deep inside. Riya noticed him smiling and stood beside him "Yeah she is really beautiful..."
Rishabh turned to her sharply..." its nothing like that... i wasnt thinking that about Madhu "
"Madhu... I was talking about Srishti" Riya said trying to maintain an innocent face.
Rishabh was taken aback, but soon he broke into a smile with a YOU-ARE-ONE-DEVIL look in his eyes. Riya smiled back at him widely while blinking her eyes innocently.
As they sat back now talking about random subjects Riya noticed how strong their bond was. She realised that Madhu might have cursed him all her life but she had a spark in her eyes when she sees him while Rishabh admired her whenever she was looking away. Their was an evident affection from both the sides.
It had been quite sometime and Rishabh realised he should be going by now as it might feel awkward for him to stay any longer. He stood up though unwillingly " So I guess I should go now... will you come tomorrow Malik? "
" yeah... i will have to.. My boss is a strict one you see..."
" I think i will have to set your boss straight... " Rishabh said while tightening his fist.
Madhu laughed at him... " yeah i really think u should "
Rishabh smiled widely seeing her and waved them good bye.

Rishabh was in his car now. He was unusually merry that day, in fact he had been that way since a couple of days. He remembered how he had kissed Madhu's forehead. And he almost blushed and smiled at himself. The events of past few days were clouding his mind. He was having flashbacks of Madhu's smile, of her laughing at his jokes... he was feeling satisfied. He got flashback of how he hugged her when he broke down in front of her and he closed his eyes slowly, he felt HOME...

Madhu on the other side was sitting with the book in her hand, she was trying to read but couldnt focus on the words. She felt as if she had lost herself. On the book she could only see hers and Rishabh's times they spent together. She could see Rishabh smiling, Rishabh's frown and each of that moment when she had admired him, watched him when he didnt know. She smiled and hit her temple for her silliness.

Rishabh felt a pair of eyes looking at him very intently. He turned to the side and saw Madhu sitting on the passenger seat looking at her with dreamy eyes the same that he had caught her doing in the hospital. He raised his eyebrows in a gesture to ask her what is she looking at. But Madhu just bent towards him kissed him on his cheek. Rishabh jumped at the sudden gesture and found the passenger seat empty. He shook his head thinking how he made a fool of himself.

Madhu was talking animatedly to Srishti who was full of talks about her Rishabh. Madhu smiled hearing about Rishabh, she felt a joy in herself thinking about his presence in their life.

Rishabh brushed his hand through his hair twice... and then turned the rear view mirror to himself and checked his appearance. "Do i really look good...? No... i think Madhu looks better. she has a charm... she is magical... He thought as he set his hair.
