PART 9
His feet got stuck to the ground; it was unbelievable for him to hear that voice after so long... so close to his ears! RK somehow gathered some courage and turned to face her. The moment his eyes met hers, everything stood still; the time stopped. His heart skipped a zillion beats and actually, he didn't bother about it. All he bothered was to just live that moment; the moment he had wished for, deep down in his heart all these years. A sigh skipped his lips- of relief- to see his Madhu after so long. Suddenly, his wet eyes again created a watery haze between his gaze but it didn't mattered to him at all because he was still able to see her through that mirror of water!!
He was standing in front of her eyes; she was living the moment that she had wished for. Her pounding heart suddenly came to a hold, her heavy breaths calmed down. Her feet were waiting for the approval of her mind to get active, to run and hug him tight, so tight that nobody can sway him away from her afterwards. A small smile crept over her lips and her leg was about to step forward but stopped in midway- on seeing him stepping one step back. Then the reality struck her mind. She removed that smile from her lips and gathered herself again- to fight for her love, from her love, to get her love back! And with all these determinant thoughts, she stepped forward towards him. "He is right Maa!" She spoke without breaking her gaze from him, walking towards him. "You said it right RK! I can never be happy with you... never! You cannot give me any happiness in my whole life, RK! The only thing you can give me is pain... only pain and these tears!" Tears that brimmed his eyes a while ago, started to flow down. "You can only hurt my heart, my soul, RK!" Her words made him to lower his eyes. He knew that she was right but still it was difficult and hurtful for him to hear from her. " Maa, please go from here!" RK spoke. Radha was watching all this helplessly. She turned to leave when, "NO!! Maa will not go anywhere!" Madhu interrupted furiously. "She will stay here and listen to everything today! She has that right!" RK knew that there was no point in doing argument with her at this point of time so he stayed mum. "You know what RK I have learnt one thing after spending so much time with you! And the thing is that I LOVE THIS PAIN! I want to live in this pain, in these sufferings!" RK shockingly raised his head to see her. "Yes... I want to stay with this pain!" With these words, her rage flew away, her voice calmed down and her eyes filled with both love and tears. "You know why? Because we have chosen this pain for ourselves, RK! Because you have given me this pain! I want to live with these tears... just because these are attached with you... I want to shed them because they are for you, RK!" Rk was shocked to hear all that- not because he didn't know she love him but because he was startled with the fact that she still love him just like she used to do earlier, after all that happened. Madhu stepped forward towards him and slowly cupped his face in her palms, "This pain, these tears are acceptable to me... just because of you! You are the reason for them! And... And because I... I love you RK... I love you so much!!" Her words stole his heart beat again. A silent tear of happiness- happiness because she still love him- slide down through his eyes. "And that's why I have come to you today... to be with you forever... your Madhu!" She spoke while crying. Once again, his heart melted on seeing his Madhu's tears, though he had always been the reason for them but he couldn't deny the fact that he had always hated her wet eyes. He slowly raised his hand to wipe them, to soothe her pain, but suddenly reality struck him and he stopped his hand just few inches far from her face. Madhu got shocked to see that. "NO!! NO!!" He simply jerked his hand away and turned his back towards her. "It can't happen! It just can't happen!" "RK... you..." "We can't get back together Madhu!" He suddenly declared, startling Madhu. "We can't be together! It's... It's all over Madhu! Please... Go back!" He shut his eyes, trying to gulp down his pain that just hurt him with his own words. A little smile covered her lips. Madhu slowly moved forward, "5 years... 5 years ago, we took a decision, RK! A decision, that I took... to leave you! And a decision, that you took... to never get me back!! We both thought that we would be happy with it, but the truth was, we lost RK! We lost! All these years, I tried to console myself that I was right... but I wasn't RK! I lost... I lost everything... my family... my relations... and above all... I lost you RK!! And you... you too were in the same boat! You didn't get anything either... In fact you too lost everything!!" Her voice choked. "Yes... You are right!" RK replied, "I lost! I lost everything of mine... My name, my fame... my love! I lost everything! And now... I am nothing! I am not the previous RK now! I have nothing to give you!" He tried to hide his pain through those harsh words. "I don't want anything from you RK! Except you..." She pleaded. Radha was helplessly watching all this. "This is not your film Madhu! It's life! And I am not that RK! I am Rishabh Kundra... A common man... Rishabh Kundra! And there is no match of a Superstar and a common guy! Please leave from here!" He wasn't ready to face her as he knew; her eyes would definitely force him to give in. Madhu was, for once, surprised to hear that. But she decided not to bend down easily. "So that is the reason... You are right! There is no match of a Superstar and a common man. But what about both of them being common?" Rk turned to her confusingly. "I haven't come here as a Superstar, RK! Madhubala had already left far behind... I am Madhu... your Madhu! The girl, whom you loved, who lived in a Chawl, whom nobody knew!" Madhu slowly held his hand in hers and saw in his eyes lovingly, "I have left everything RK... I have left that world forever... for you... for us! And I have come back to be with you... as your Madhu... to be your Biwi! Madhubala Rishabh Kundra!" Her pleading tears were pinching RK's heart every single second but he didn't want to give in. He decided to convince her by every mean. He immediately jerked her hand off and shouted, "Why don't you understand Madhubala! This is not a joke! These dialogues run only in films, not in real life!" His thorny words stabbed Madhu once again. "Why do want to come back... hunn...? I have already told you, your RK has lost! The RK whom you had loved once, is lost now! And the person standing in front of you is a defeated man... who lost everything...! I have nothing to give you now!! You can't live happily with me... I am empty handed now! I can't give you anything! Please... for God sake... leave from here!!" He spoke in frustration.
Each and every word of his was like a sharp edge of a knife that was penetrating her heart every single second. Finally, she lost her head, "NO! NO Mr Rishabh Kundra! You are not empty handed!" RK thought his words worked and she would leave soon. "You might have lost your so called fame, name... but you still have one thing left with you!!" She snapped furiously. RK looked at her confused, with narrow eyes. "And it is MY LOVE... Yes Mr Kundra! My love... that I had showered on you from my soul... my heart! The affection that I had given to you with no end! And the same love... that you had promised to me once, that you'll keep it safe with you till your last breath! If you want me to go away from you then return my love!! Return my affection back... and I'll leave now!" Madhu's eyes filled with rage. RK was startled with her words. Her words were pinching him strongly. "You said it right Mr Kundra... I was wrong... I was wrong that I came here! I was trying to convince a wrong person! You are not my RK! Yes... You are not my RK at all! Because my RK is not like you! If you had been my RK then you must have wiped my tears once... If you had been my RK then you must have pulled me into your embrace on seeing me after 5 long years... I am really sorry Mr Kundra! I was begging in front of a wrong person all this while!! I apologize for wasting your time Mr Kundra! I am leaving!!" And she gave him one last furious glance before she leave. RK stood still at his place. He had no answer to her words. She started to leave. Her movement snatched the ground beneath RK. He felt of losing something... forever again.
The moment Madhu crossed him from his side, she felt her hand been caught. She stopped in mid way and looked at her hand. She got shocked to see the hand holding hers. She looked at him surprisingly and got more shocked to see those red water filled eyes with tears flowing out profusely. That sight immediately swayed her anger away. "I AM SORRY!" He whispered. And his words immediately melted her all over again. She gently caressed his cheeks and wiped them lovingly. "I am sorry Madhu!" He cupped her face. "I... I just want you to be happy! I don't want to give you anymore pain!" "And you think, living away from you would soothe me in anyway!" She sobbed. RK defeatedly rested his forehead on hers. "I am nothing without you RK! And you are nothing without me! We both need each other!" He again faced her. "But... everything has changed Madhu!" He spoke helplessly. "Except our love..." She replied confidently and cupped his face with full affection. "If you are with me then I don't need anything! I am complete then! RK... Our love will be enough for both of us!" She spoke with a contended smile. Her words were like a Balm to his yearlong wounds. RK gently wiped her tears, caressed her face and lovingly kissed her forehead, "I LOVE YOU MADHU!" He whispered behind his wet eyes. "I LOVE YOU TOO RK!" And they hugged... after so many years. He held her tight against his chest, don't wanting her let her go off from him anymore. She reciprocated the same.
Radha's eyes were filled with tears of happiness. She thanked Bappa for finally uniting her children once again after so many hardships. She moved forward and blessed both of them wholeheartedly. Same time, Bittuji entered in a hurry. "Chief... your car..." And got shocked to see the sight. He was surprised to see his Bhabhiji there and more than that, with his Chief, in his arms. "Chief..." That was all he could speak. Madhu stepped forward towards him, "I want to say sorry to you Bittuji!" Bittuji stared at her with widened eyes. "I behaved so rudely with you... and with Maa too! I slapped you, cursed you and what not! Please forgive me Bittuji!" She joined her hands. "Please Bhabhiji! Please don't do this! I never felt bad for that! In fact, I am so happy that Bappa listened to my prayers finally and united both of you!" He moved towards RK and hugged him. "I too want to thank you Bittuji... for being there with me all this while... in my thick and thins!! Thank you!" "No need to thank me Chief... Now, I just wish for both of you to be happy always!!" And he put RK's hand in Madhu's hand, praying to Bappa to fulfil this wish too.
