Shruti, absolutely agreed. (By the way, I haven't checked beyond MF's first page yet, so don't know about your post. Will be looking for it now. But damn sorry that you felt hurt.)
The only problem is that in this series, *both* the would-be parents are likely to commit murder rather than consider abortion.
That was why RK asking for abortion looks ridiculous.
RK is equally emotional and impractical as Madhu when it comes to relations, in fact far more so.
If he were practical, he wouldn't have stuck it out with the Bhatias for his mother's sake, especially considering the woman criticizes him in front of others but acts as if her second family luxuriating at RK's expense is their right.
He even provided for the deceased character's mother and son.
So RK's considering financial points as a reason for the practical merit of abortion doesn't fit even remotely with his character.😕
Unfortunately for us, the stardom track doesn't have scope to attract majority-audience - it can be sold only packaged in what the majority-audience is interested in.
The couple sells this series. Even when the behaviour of either is inappreciable, the majority-audience watches them together. They stuck by through the post-unwedding separation waiting for reunion. But when separation goes on too long with no reunion in the near future, the viewership reduces beyond what the series can financially be comfortable with.
The promos at the start of the series were scuttled when they showed RK majboor and Mehul seeing Madhu as heroine, instead of a powerful RK moulding Madhu into heroine. None of those promos can be counted on anymore - they sacrificed the entire theme to try for the majboori-and-mahaanta option which failed to garner sympathy-TRP and significant increase in viewership.
Also, no set-scenes have got financial backing unless RK is on the sets in a prominent capacity with or without Madhu, and the track focusses on Rishbala.
The one hope now is that the couple prospers and RK wants her to star with him without any majbooris or ego-hassles. Then we can hopefully see actual set-scenes with both of the couple in those.
Another problem is that in a series, if the husband becomes insecure because of the wife's career, (and more worrying if that career took off through such clunky majbooris unappealing to majority-audience as this track has been overdosed with), the wife can't be shown continuing in that career without getting mass-audience disapprobation.
The mess they have made in this tack and the previous tracks have left very few options which will actually cause mass-audience to start watching in great numbers and keep watching.
And we really do need TRP to get to 3+.
Just hope they keep mass-audience tastes in mind so that we can get stardom track with a proper setting, not the 2+ TRP shoestring set-up they gave here because the entire viewership that was likely to watch were all of us already watching with no segment-increase likely.
