Very nice take Opti... I think you are right.
Even though its not a smart move but I never had any intelligent expectations from Madhu. All this flak her character is getting is highly because of the history of the ambiguous attitude of Madhu towards this character since its eruption from that Godforsaken pond...
The problem is that CVs had already butchered madhu's character when it comes to this clunky gangster. First she went out of her way to save him, food tasting eww, then those soft looks and touches.. Her heaping praises of his love filled heart.. Barf!
If that was not less, she was shown to have sympathetic glances towards a man who clearly was threatening her husband, her dialogue that why is he being so rude. Then the worst was her quest for justice for a random woman and a gangster at the expense of her own husband who was cluelessly innocent.
The CVs have damaged her character hoping that we will accept that hated character. They couldn't garner any support for that glorified extra but in the process lost all sympathy for the female protagonist.
Isn't it ironical tat despite what she went through during the karwachauth, the love test and the unwedding, she doesn't have an ounce of sympathy from the audience.
CVs have done a lot of injustice to madhu's character.. They should thank their stars that the character is played by DD else the show where people lose connect with the female protagonist are doomed..
