It was a slap on Madhu's face that 40 lakhs and 4 pheras was her price, because Madhu after she has fallen in love with RK has changed too much, she has disregarded her principles. Everything she once hated about RK, she is now defending, the CV's have used a cope out here by trying to say she has a soft heart so that's why she forgives, but how about her dialogues to Sultan (RK doesn't go behind me during the time he hated me he did everything in front of my face) and Padmini (I know you don't like this bribe business but for my love, and before that Sultan has done this out of selfishness), they are making her lie, how can she forget RK did behind her back all those things for her to lose her reputation, ruined her parents reputation, stopped Trishna's path in films, brought Balraj Chaudhury to be producer for her sister without informing her the 5 months pretending to be in love with her to break her heart eventually and now that she would even consider giving a bribe when in the beginning of the show she was refusing a bribe from RK for Mukund to take the blame in the accident case, she's completely lost all her principles as a character. I'm really glad that Shivdutt Marathe has come, because he has brought up RK's character faults and also his telling Madhu also how she has changed, it's highlighting to us these facts about them both. So definitely something to be applauded.
However, saying all these things RK killed Sultan in self defence and Shivdutt Marathe stands for truth, his said it at least every time he comes on screen so RK will get off in the end we all feel that will happen. But in the meantime, his putting on a good show!
