In Chal, his first show. I think he was supposed to be the negative lead and there is one other male lead too. Atleast initially he was shown negative. I don;t know how the plan was for the show.

That show has two male leads and one female lead.

But he was more appreciated than the other one. SO he was made as the hero and they let the other one go. And from that show's fans, all are his fans and most watch the show for him.
