Part9:The surprise
THUD
BANG
"MAAA"
Madhu woke up startled with the immense high pitched sounds coming from some where.
She woke up and rubbed her eyes -not one time but several times.
Because there is pitch darkness.
She closed her eyes and covered her face with the blanket.She is really scared.
She let out her hand out of the blanket and extended it in the direction of the bed lamp-she usually leaves on during the nights.
But its switch is in 'on' position.
'Why this light has to be spoiled in night only?'cursing the light she extended her hand in the opposite direction where the switch board of that room's lights is present(still she is under the blanket).
She switched them on and slowly opened the eyes and removed the blanket from her face.
She could not see anything.
She immediately went under the blanket again.
Did she go blind?
CLING
BANG
Again some noises from somewhere-probably from the hall.
"MU-MU-MUNNA"her voice is shivering out of fear.
No one answered.
"NE-NEEEHAAA,WHERE DID YOU GUYS DIE?"
Her fear is making her mad.
No lights,no people.
"Bappa ji,what is this test.Why are you playing with me?Please give some light in my life-I mean in this room"
She pleaded.
Suddenly something struck her mind.
"Mobile?"
She groped for her mobile on the bed.She did not find.
"I usually keep it under the pillow and tonight also I kept it there.Where is it?"
BANG
Her fear doubled.She is sweating profusely.
What are those sounds?Is it a burglar?
Beep... beep...
She got startled by the sound coming in that room with a light.
She looked in the direction of the light.
It is her mobile, lying on the table in front of the couch.
"Ufff...atleast I found it"She let out a deep sigh of relief.
"But I didn't keep it there.Who kept it.May be I kept it there and forgot about it.Whatever,atleast I found that."
She thought so,while reaching the mobile.
She got a message from an unknown number.
She opened that to read.
It read-
"Every block of stone has a statue inside it and it it the task of the sculptor to discover it.Come discover yourself."
She got really scared and sat down on the couch.
Beep..Beep..
Another message.
"He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life"
BANG
The sounds did not stop.
"How can I go down in this darkness ?I really fear of..."
Another beep from her mobile interrupted her sentence.
"Do the things you fear most and the death of fear is certain."
So,she has to gather all her courage .She decided to go down -not to find about the sounds but to find about the person who is reading her mind.
Slowly she stepped out of the room.
Slowly and slowly she is stepping down the stair case with the help of the light from her mobile.
She focused the light on the hall.But she is unable to identify anything.
She entered the hall.
Suddenly light came from some where and focused only on the curtain-covered thing.
The curtain is only around a small round area.
She approached it and pulled down the string of it and the curtain rolled up revealing...
CHACK
Suddenly the lights came on and Madhu could not looks as her eyes ,which are till now habituated to darkness,couldn't bear the light.
She kept her hand over her eyes .
Slowly she removed her hand and opened her eyes.
She looked around the hall.
WOOOW
The hall is beautifully decorated with colorful balloons,flowers,crepe paper decorations,lights and what not.
That hall looked magnificent.
She looked at the place,which was covered by the curtain a little while ago.
There lies a huge three storeyed cake decorated beautifully.
The candles are really beautiful.
She went near it.
The beautifully inscribed letters on it read-
"Happy Birth Day Biwi"
A huge grin came on Madhu's face.
She looked around as if searching for someone.
But no one is present there.She got a frown on her face.
Where is he?
She again looked around.
Beep..Beep
"So,the secret is revealed,ok then Good night"-from the same unknown number.
She got disappointed-"So,he made all this by servants and he did not even wish me "
She looked at the cake and let out a sigh.Without her knowledge,tears are filling her eyes.
'What is the use of this when there is no one .Will I dance saying-"Hey its party time " and will I celebrate alone?',thinking so,she turned away and is about to go.
"What are you doing Biwi?"
A smile reappeared on her face and she turned to see RK.
He is leaning to a pillar,folding his hands and is smirking at her.
She came a few Steps forward and said-"RK.."
He unfolded his hands and came near her.
"Biwi,what are you doing?Why are you insulting this poor cake?"
"RK,you?Why are you here?You went to Manali,didn't you?What are you doing here?How did you know that today is my birthda..."
"SSHHH, Biwi
Take some breath atleast."
"RK,that--how did..."
"Biwi,Biwi,I will wait here and will not leave you,but see those poor candles-they will get extinguished.So please show mercy on them first and blow them.Then you can leisurely interrogate me."

Madhu turned towards the cake.
She blew the candles.
RK took his both hands close to clap and wish his Biwi.
But remembered all the embarrassing thoughts and dreams and forcefully withdrew his hands.
Madhu blew the candles and looked at motionless RK.
He is folding his hands and ,seeing Madhu's face gestured her with eyebrows to 'carry on'.
She cut the cake and took a small piece and about to bring it to his mouth when he told,"Biwi,the cake is not in quota basis that the whole Mumbai should share this.This is for your birthday only"
Madhu understood and shaking her head with a smile,left the piece and cut a big piece and looked at RK.
Her looked questioned him,"Is this enough?"
RK smiled.
This smile done a magic on her.
She blushed.
RK's smile widened seeing her blush.
But neither noticed this.But it happened.
She took the cake piece and lifted her hand half way not even looking at him.
She could not lift her hand further.
RK held her hand and directed towards his mouth.
He opened his mouth and
Tak...tak
Both were disturbed by someone's foot steps.
They looked into each others' eyes.
They noticed someone's presence in that hall.
They looked at the entrance door.
It is Deepali.
RK left Madhu's hand on seeing her and Madhu first looked at his leaving her hand and then his face.
He had a frown.
He really got annoyed .
Deepali is dumb-struck.
WHAT???
This incomplete wife is getting sooo much?
She hid her emotions and came near them and said ,shifting her looks from one's face to the other's.
"Ma-Madhu you didn't inform me that today is your birthday.
RK you arranged her birthday party so grandly that you did not do to me also--I mean to any of the family members also ."
RK left that place immediately getting irritated.
Madhu and Deepali looked at him.
"Madhu-you are too lucky to get this much range of celebrations which you may never dreamt of,being a girl living in chawlI didn't think RK does this much to his incom--I mean Wife"
Madhu thought of being normal to her humiliations which he used to do.But ,she remembered how Deepali hurt RK and left from there without answering.
IN RK's ROOM:
RK is sitting on the couch with umbrage.
Madhu enterd the room and saw RK.
She thought to change his mood.
"Mr.Rishabh Kundra,What did you do? You..."
He interrupted her and said,"Biwi,please leave me ,I'm not in a mood to fight with you"
"Why should I leave you,I was standing like statue of liberty there ,holding this cake and you left me there not even bothring about me.Its my birthday,so you should listen what all I say"
"Biwi,..I told you I'm..."
"She stuffed the cake into his mouth preventing him to speak.
He took the remaining part from her hand and gave her a stern look.
Her cheerfulness vanished,"Did I hurt.."
He applied the cake's cream over her face.
"AAH,RRRKKK"
She shouted.
He burst into laughter .
She stopped a while looking at him.
She never witnessed his this-naughty side before.
She saw him laugh in many films.He did acting there.But she never saw him laugh whole-heardtedly .
He is so cute .He's smile is really mesmerizing.
She could not took off her gaze from him.
He is still laughing.
She is smiling looking at him.
'Madhu,what are you thinking?You never thought like this before, about anyone.Why are you thinking like this about RK.'
She controlled her smile and said with a fake anger,
"Mr.RK,
What is this?What are you thinking about yourself.You made my face like this."
He controlled his laughter and looked at her.
He smiled seeing Madhu's efforts of controlling her laugh.
"Biwi ,now you go to wash room and wash your face and come soon.
You have to improve your glamour"
"Glamour???"
"Yes,Biwi,you have to become a sleeping beauty and improve your glamour to look fresh tomorrow.Tomorrow..."
"Is there a party again??"
She asked with a mix of fear and distress.
Some pain went inside him.
He controlled his emotions and told,"No,Biwi not a party.Go to washroom and clean that before the ants find your beautiful face with more beautiful cream and take the trouble of cleaning it themselves."
Madhu entered the washroom.
RK sat on the couch.
Why did he behave so cruelly?
Flashes of that day's incidents came infront of his eyes.
Madhu came from wash room.
She noticed that RK is staring her.
'I gave her so much pain that day'he thought while seeing her.
She asked,"RK why are you looking like that at me ?"
"Biwi,You know what?You face is more beautiful when covered with cream"
She said,while wiping her face
"Lets see,how beautiful your face appears on your birthday.I'll apply the fuull ca..."
She bit her tongue and turned to see RK.
He is looking down and is really in a bad condition.Uncontrollable emotions are crowding him.
How did she forgot what he told her on the party night.
"My father committed suicide ,2 hours after taking these pictures",may be his father died on his birthday.
"RK,I'm extremely sorry.I forgo...'
"Biwi,sleep"
Saying so,he went and slept on the bed and is lost in thoughts.
Madhu ,though can't see his face,can easily guess his feelings.
"Neha ,you know that any if any flaw gets to my notice I won't spare"
He not only warned Neha but everyone else for the fifth time by now.
Neha nodded give him an assuring smile that they won't make any flaw
"RK,Please leav.."
"SSSHHH Biwi.Sit silently and make Neha and others do their work perfectly"
"RK,I don't need all these .These are really disgust.."
"Biwi,I know what is to be done to you.OK?"
"RK..."
"Ssshhh Biwi can't sit properly without dancing?"
"RK"
"WHATTT????"
"I can do these myself"
"Oh ,I see.But they will do"
"RK,I worked in a parlour .Can't I manage to do make-up for myself?"
"Haha Biwi,I don't think a road side parlour girl's make-up matches international renowned beauticians"
"Biwi,without doing any other mischief,be a good girl and come with in 30 minutes.I'll be waiting down."
Madhu reluctantly got ready and got down.
RK is looking the other side.
Madhu called him in a low lovely tone,"RK"
He turned to look Madhu and got spell-bounded with her beauty.
She is in a lovely gold color dress with a mesmerizing lovely face.
He did not speak anything.
Madhu brought him back to his senses by calling,"RK",in a lovely tone.
"Wow,Biwi,you are soo beau...---Ok Ok lets go"He controlled himself.
Madhu laughed silently .
Deepali became the silent viewer of all these.
RK made Madhu sit in the next seat in his car.
He drove off the car.
He could not took off his looks off from Madhu.
He is seeing only at her while driving.
But Madhu did not notice him staring at her.She is busy in looking outside through window.
"RRRKKK,LOOOK OUUT"
He came back to his senses ,only to notice that they are inches away from death.
He immediately turned the car the other way and saved themselves from hitting the lorry.
He stopped the car and looked at Madhu,who is looking at him with wide eyes.
He smiled sheepishly.
She raised her eye brow which made him shut his mouth.
"Bi-Biwi, you know,people say-If you don't take risks,you'll have a wasted soul"
"It is better to have a wasted soul than to make people pray-'May your soul rest in peace'"she murmured.
But RK heard it.
"Shut up ,Biwi.Its your birthday,Don't talk like that "with a slight anger and started his car and turned it.
"Sorry RK,By the way where are we going"
"Biwi,can't you stay calm even for sometime.We are going there only.So, shut up and sit"
She did not speak any thing.
They headed for the place.
